McLaren F1 Successor

If it ever happens. I can't see it myself, given the extraordinary performance of the P1/GTR, where is there left to go? You're talking about running at the limits of tyre tech for the road, and whilst of course they could make some fancy one-offs (like the Veyron), are McLaren a flush enough company to do something like that? I don't know.

If it did, what price? £3M? £5M? It'd be crazy money.

I just wanna see a modern F1 3 seater... :( lol Like get one... bigger wheels, better tyres, more modern crisp looks and interior, lights etc... but same shape. I'm old, I'm living in the past.. dammit

It'd have to be naturally aspirated for me. They could once again employ BMW to make a modern day version of the high revving V12 in the F1.

It quite literally should just be an updated F1 but as close to the original as possible.

Yeah in terms of pace it'll be fast but with the hypercars of today its hard to break boundries like the F1 did back then. I think there just going after a kinda modern re-take due to customer demand.

If this is genuine, it just sounds like a bit of clever marketing. As others have said, McLaren have a comprehensive line up of cars now and the 'new F1' is unlikely to be groundbreaking in the same way that the original was.

But to be honest you still want them to build it... you wanna see it lol. We all know the F1 will stay as the 'headliner' but it's nice to see them have a bash at something similar

Despite the headlines, this isn't a successor to the F1. It's a very fast GT car that just happens to have three seats. Flemke on PH was offered one, go read the thread, very interesting stuff.
