Randy_Baton Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) So, I found out what was wrong with my exhaust.... I've brought a new one direct from Cobra, but if anyone wants my old one. I'll sell it for FREE + P&P. I can try to arrange delivery or meet half way if your around Brighton or Birmingham or possibly somewhere in between. FYI: a new one from Cobra can be brought for £345 (with a bit of haggling) I presume it can be fixed by welding the tail pipe back on? If not, it may make a very nice bread bin/garden feature. It was on the car when I brought it so I can't confirm how it old it is, other than at least 4 years. Edited September 23, 2016 by Randy_Baton Quote
Mmmatt123 Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 will this fit a standard mid pipe bud? Quote
evest Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 It won't fit standard mid pipe mate. I had a similar but less serious fault on my Cobra - its because one of the hangars connects to the tail pipe rather than the box, so vibrations all go to the pipe/box joint. Cobra fixed mine by welding some bracers between the box and pipes - very neat job though! Quote
Ricey Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 You'll need a welder who can weld stainless as well. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk Quote
zebedy Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 What a bag of balls. Consider that Cobra are big bucks, dont they offer a life time warranty? Send it back. Quote
brillomaster Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 it'll likely be a lifetime warranty for the original owner - would be very surprised if it was transferable. although that said, you have proof of purchase of an exhaust now, so wait a year or so then send the broken one back and claim a replacement? Quote
Randy_Baton Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 Yep I spoke to Cobra and its a lifetime warranty for the original owner, non transferable. They did give me a 20% discount on a new one though. I know that a std back box won't fit a cobra mid pipe so I presume it would fit the other way round. Cougar store would probably be able to advise if there is a work around. Quote
Randy_Baton Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 Bump - will give it away free, but you'll need to come to Brighton. Quote
keiichi tsuchiya Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 hi, have you got central pipe or not? Quote
Conlonl Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Ill take it if you still get to the birmingham area Quote
Randy_Baton Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 No, the central pipe is still on my car. If I've still got in when I'm next in b'ham I'll give you a shout. Probably won't be for a few months, I'm only there if I'm visiting family (don't tend to do that very often!) Quote
Paul_B Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Hi if it's still up for grabs il take it I'm based near gatwick. Thanks Paul Quote
Ruderye Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I can come to brighton to collect if you still have it? Quote
samsniss350z Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 This seems to be a common problem with the Cobra. When i took my Zed in to have a Y pipe back system fitted, what was on the other ramp but another Zed with exactly the same problem getting his welded. I didn't have a chance to talk to the owner as he'd left the car with them and was picking it up after work. I'm presuming he bought his Zed with the Cobra fitted hence the repair and not using the guarantee Quote
