Hi all

Right so my 2003 350z had decided to start throwing out plumes of blue smoke all.of a sudden. been told it seems like worn piston rings so not a cheap fix.

anyone know where to get it fixed or does anyone have an engine for sale?

A little more info on what car is actually doing.

getting oil on plugs

blue smoke when accelerating and start up

misfire but when plugs are cleaned misfire disappears for a small while

no warning lights on dash

im very confused, mechanics around where i am (lancashire) are scared to take the job on.

Then they're not mechanics.

Sadly I tend to agree with the others, this is looking very much like a rebuild job.

Valve stem seals, blue smoke on startup, worse when cold.

Under acceleration, piston ring bypass

Fouling plugs, piston rings, valve stems or massively overfueling. Smell fuel when changing oil? [bore wash, piston ring damage, dead engine]

Cheapest option Is probably to get good 2nd hand engine. Find someone you trust to change it.

If you want to know whats wrong you need a compression test to check piston ring seal, if thats ok a leakdown test will check valve seal etc

[disclaimer : This is an internet diagnosis and is not worth the web page its written on]
