nixy Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 My other car - Fiat 500 - had a stone fly into it like a missile just before Christmas. It hit so hard it was like a bullet and the windscreen was damaged and then after a day cracked across. Autoglass came out on Tuesday and fitted a new one. Great job, no issues. BUT, when I drove home later and it was dark I noticed that there was an almost mirror like reflection of the instrument panel at the top of the windscreen. It's really clear, bright and very distracting in the dark. I started to think I was going mad and it must have always done that, but surely I would have noticed? I don't want to ring autoglass and look like a loon - what do you guys think? Quote
KyleR Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 All windows do it, even the ones in your house. Dark outside and lights inside make a reflection. Quote
nixy Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 I don't get it in the zed and have never noticed before in this car for the last year. If I make myself six inches taller I can't see it. It's very weird. Quote
KyleR Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Thats because the zeds cluster has an overhang. People get it day of night in the Zed after painting the centre console a brighter colour. Quote
BobbyZ Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I don't get it in the zed and have never noticed before in this car for the last year. If I make myself six inches taller I can't see it. It's very weird. I'd say the most likely explanation in that case is that you somehow lost six inches of height at around the same time that your windscreen was replaced. Quote
nixy Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 That's the only thing I can think of as well....... Quote
zebedy Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 i have it on my zed. My centre console is glossy and I can see it plain as day on the windscreen. My dashcam picks it up too which is annoying the hell outta me. Quote
350zedd Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Get yourself a booster seat ......or maybe Ioneabee doesnt need his anymore as he's selling his 370Z Quote
Ekona Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Perhaps your old windscreen was so dirty, the reflection couldn't get through the dirt Either that, or because it's not OEM glass they've put in it could naturally reflect more light. Quote
nixy Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 I'm liking the booster seat idea personally........I'll PM ioneabee 1 Quote
