just reformatted my PC and struggling to link the network printer

pc is connected to the router via powerline adapters

network printer connected similarly

when I go to add printer - it finds it on the network, but then gives me a dialogue box "windows couldn't connect, check its switched on and port is correct etc etc"

I can set it up manually via the "printer i want isn't listed and eventually type in the ip address (192.168.1.25)

when I ping the printer I get "reply from 192.168.1.9 (my pc) : Destination unreachable

then it goes on to say all packets correctly sent and received for 192.168.1.25

anyone know what I can try next

already switched off powerlines and re-started etc

and disabled the firewall

sounds like a network problem, have you set the default gateway on the printer? or set it to DHCP and let the router assign the network IP's.

. . . or get a wireless printer in the Sales

Always found network printers unreliable/sporadic in operation.

You cant beat a dedicated hardwired printer/pc combo in my experience.

Maybe its just me
