andyk3090 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Just fitted new gaskets on my sons 350HR today. Started first time and the rattle at low revs has gone. Oil pressure is back to normal. Obviously the low rev rattle was due to the low pressure to the variable valve timing. As you can see, the gaskets were well blown out. 1 Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Good job! How many miles on the engine? Quote
Darren-B Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 It's a bit odd, Nissan revised these gaskets from the on the DE's & I've now seen 4 HR's with blown gaskets Quote
Bodyboarder81 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 ......I'm guessing mileage of around 60-80k ? Quote
steve916 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Standard paper gaskets were on my HR 2007. Been fine since running the steel reinforced ones Quote
andyk3090 Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Good job! How many miles on the engine? 100k on a 2007, paper gaskets now replaced with steel ones, plus a new timing chain, tensioner, guides and water pump. Hopefully enough to keep it running a while longer. Quote
Omegamanuk Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Think my HR 07 with 72K on has just gone as I've had a 30psi pressure drop from it normal operation. Quote
Jp606 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Is there a DIY for this kicking about anywhere? Quote
