+1 it all just sounds a little fishy. If I were you I'd take it back while (if) you still can. You'll feel a hell of a lot better when you are driving around in a car that you KNOW is fine.

Has it not got a joystick in front of the screen. If I remember correctly there are 2 types, 1 with buttons on the dash and one with no buttons but a remote

I used to live in a flat and have this problem too. What I used to do is go round my moms, clean the cars with a mate or use the work car park. There isn't a fat lot else you can do other than use an Albanian hand 'grit' car wash.

Just a thought, if you want to try my white box (not sure what its called) to see if your dials start working feel free. Only takes 2 mins to get it out of the car.
