  1. Retired Gentleman of Leisure. :)

    Me too  (Well, semi-retired)

You can't be old enough !

The poor young boy has to go out to sea to work. So the slightest whiff of wind and he's grounded.

He's so busy he's been to my place three time this year and he's in the North Lakes and I'm in North Wales so only 3 and 1/2 hour away.

I make a cracking cup of tea though.

I'll have you know I've done nearly 4 months work this year!! :p Including 3 days this quarter alone!

It can't possibly go on forever eh? But being paid and not going to work is amazeballs. I'd recommend it to anyone

  2. Sunday saw a over-delayed ride to the south east lakes to check out some tinkling slate and autumn colour. Sadly, it was a bit to wet to get much scrunchy leaf action, but a good ride none the less.

Finishing with a pint of Bluebird Bitter in the brewery tap in Coniston. A great day, despite the general dampness.

  3. I wonder what my original 60g fully fledged will be worth, probably not much lol

I'll give you 50 sheets for it ;)

Well, it's either that or get a 360 eh?

What trade in price are people getting for all the old consoles?

  4. I think you've both missed the point of the entire magazine tbh,

EVO is not about whether the stitching is uniform throughout, or whether the optional heated seats are worth it. It's about how the cars drive, and how they make you feel. It's why the 350Z is more highly rated by them than the 370Z, despite being a slower car with an uglier interior. It's why massive horsepower cars don't always trump the hot hatches, and why things like steering feel and chassis feedback are rated so very highly.

It's quite odd to have to point this out on a forum for a car thats whole USP is a rather old-school, chunky take on driving fun. Presumably many owners choose a zed over much faster turbo hatches and diesel rep mobiles for this reason?

  5. The Whinlatter Duathlon rolls around again, and thankfully we had a spectacular autumn day to do it. The course has slightly changed from last time, being mostly based on the south side of the valley now, but still a stiff challenge and my thighs are killing me today! Finished 37th/202 in the solo category. A great craic as usual, and charging down the big descent on the south loop with 4 or 5 other riders was a particular highlight.

No pics of my own as I was busy, but a good one from the official guys:

  6. Second hand road bike or singlespeed bike.

Turbo trainer or set of rollers

One or two turbo specific tyres.

Bonus of being able to use bike on nice weekends, next spring, and much much cheaper than a exercise bike etc.

At a pinch, you could even get some slicks for the MTB and use that on rollers!

  7. Persoinally, I think fillet is a bit overrated. It's not the tastiest despite the tenderness, and I much prefer something that's done a bit of work, like a rump or sirloin. I'd normally only ever have fillet as part of a t-bone.

Rare or medium, depending on cut.
