  2. Nismo will sound great if you get HFC If not the 5Zigen with Standard Cats would be more aggresive. I think they are around £1100 for the Z-Spec and £1600 for the SP DC used to do a TD exhaust that sounded great, not sure if they still do
  3. I have heard similar Ian, it is actually a US specific exhaust system. However I have seen 2 members, I think both on here, that have got these systems from Sumo Power and had them fitted. I did enquire about one of these through Mark at Abbey and he said he wasnt sure if they would fit though. So mixed thoughts, so research ie required me thinks before you part with the cash. Still dont need to spend that sort of money though if you want to go true dual, Invidia are good as biscuit says. I would even be tempted to go and get a custom exhaust from somewhere. Maybe even Magnaflow?
  4. I have been all around today, to Nissan and various Exhaust suppliers and wholesalers and I have come up with nothing! One place said that I could use the old gaskets with some loctite 5920 copper based and that would do the rick, so I may give that a go.
  5. Rather then measure the gaskets, I have measured the pipes on the exhaust, as per Alex's instruction Large Pipe join of Y to Mid Pipe looks like just over 70mm hole Small pipe join for tail pipes and extra Y join, looks to be 60mm And here is the Y to Cat joins, as you can see the gasket is good as new
  6. As everyone on here will say, it is all down to personal choice and how much you want to spend. If you have the cash to throw at a HKS system then they are great bits of kit, definitely by far my fave and to me the nicest sounding exhaust for the car. When you add HFC's to it the sound is amazing, but then you are getting on to over £2k for an exhaust system. I beleive Abbey Motorsport can get you a good price on these as they are a UK main dealer, so give Mark a call. A couple of members have also used Sumo for these If you are not all that much into modding and just want a nicer growl, then you cant go much wrong with a scorpion, give CS a call for that. If it is power gains you are after then whatever you get then you will need an UPRev from Abbey Motorsport or somewhere similar to see any gains. I would also suggest the Motordyne Shockwave, that comes with an XYZ pipe, an amazing looking and sounding exhaust that with the right tune is giving good result according to Abbey, again give them a call for this, mrsteve has one so search for sound clips and pics. On the subject of TD and Y or XYZ, I dont think there is much difference, although I am sure someone with a TD will be on to disagree.........rtbiscuit......
  7. This is the system that is going on if that helps, Buddy Club Pro Spec (hope you dont mind me using the pic Pete)
  8. Right, I have been PMing Alex today and as much help as the good man has been, we couldnt get to the bottom of what gaskets I have, so I have measured with pics here so that Alex and you guys can help. Are these just OEM gaskets? I need 3 of the smaller ones for the extra join in the Y-Pipe and the cans and I need 1 large one for the join of the Y to the Mid section. Gaskets side by side Large Gasket for Y to Mid section join Small Gaskets for extra Y join and rear tail pipes Can you guys give me a definative answer on what these are. Also I need them for Saturday 9am, which will be tight for Alex to get them to me from Scotland, what with Good Friday. So anyone know where I can get them in North London \ Herts or nearby? Can I just go to a Nissan Dealer. Thanks Guys and Thanks Alex for your help so far, I wish you lived up the road!
  9. Only just looked at this again Webber, cheers for doing that! I think I will invest in some spacers next month then, as I am at normal ride height right now and then when I do get coilovers I will only drop it by 20mm and fingers crossed that will be okay!! Yours looks so good with the spacers on, shame it rubs slightly. I would raise it 10mm just to have the spaced look!

    Dotz GT-R

Personally, I like em and Im pretty keen on only JDM brands usually. They look kind of TE37 to me I would say get them I also think the Rota GTR's look cool too and are reasonable. They can be really aggresive looking if you get the right offsets and widths
  11. Yeah gonna PM Alex now, I have just seen his thread. Just need to know what ones as there are many types
  12. I thought it would probably be worthwhile. I am getting it fitted at a friends garage, he only does MOTs and small jobs, so I doubt he will have gaskets in stock. Can I just grab some at Halfrauds or somewhere? Are they universal or are there any special ones I need for this particular exhaust?
  13. I just picked up a very nice 2nd hand Jap exhaust, for a very good price. Got it through a week or so ago and it is in very good condition, the guy reckoned it had only covered 2k, I had my doubts but on getting it, it does look like it has hardly been used. Anyway, the gaskets whilst ok, are a little brown. I am just wondering if I should buy some new gaskets for it before I take it to be fitted on Saturday, or if the ones on it will be okay. If I should get new ones, are they universal and where can I pick some up? Cheers I will post a vid of it when fitted, but a clue is that it will be quite loud
  14. someone on NS had a genuine white one of these for a short while that he imported, back in like 2008/2009. Was gorgeous. He didnt keep it long, but worth a search for information for anyone interested.
  15. haha Im not surprised mate. What does it generally cost everytime you need it fixing?
  16. Hmmm this is what I am thinking, and with that Carbon lip it wont be cheap to fix
  17. Yeah thats the one Yoko. I will lower it, but probably not that low. It is nice and the rear is even nicer! Just wanted something that I dont see much and this seems to be it, quite similar in style to the nismo, just a little different and in my opinion a little more aggresive. I will probably get the Shine version as the Strosek original is ALOT of money, where as the Shine version isnt
  18. To give you an idea. I am thinking either Strosek front or Nismo V2 front. Leaning towards the Strosek as everyone seems to be getting Nismo at the moment. The Strosek is low anyway, but then has an added carbon lip on it which takes it lower
  19. hmmm I guess I wont get it lowered that much then and go over things very very slowly at an angle. You just cant get away from spedd bumps and humps and other things that will cause damage round here, but I cant not get one just because of that, I will just ahve to be extra careful.
  20. So I have been looking at a number of fronts for my car and I have narrowed it down to a couple, but what I am worried about is where I live. Round here is speed hump country, they are on every road. Am I just asking for trouble? I am at normal ride height at the moment, but I will want to lower the car by 20-30mm in the future when I change the suspension setup. Thoughts and experiences from you guys with bodykits welcome. Thanks

    tanabe exhaust

yes, Gaz @Envy can do you a very good price on these with a reasonable lead time too He got me a very good price on a Tanabe Concept G when I was looking at them. They also sound very nice
  22. of the 3 you have chosen my fave is the HKS However I hope you have deep pockets! HKS is north of £1500 as is the 5Zigen Nismo cant be far off £1200 Problem is the Yen at present against the pound, although the HKS is US only and just expensive. Slightly cheaper options that sound good are the Tanabe Concept G at £800 and the ApexI Buddy Club is a great exhaust for £650 really well made, but may be a bit loud. However if you dont have HiFlow Cats it would be okay Good luck finding something, it is the biggest and hardest choice in my opinion.
  23. Black GTR 09, thanks for letting me out on Fox Lane as I drooled over your car! Blade 350Z 04plate = very nice sound as you pulled away, near Ally Pally station! Thanks for waving back! I was in a Blade 350z with Glen on plate and Nismo lmgt4 alloys
