  1. bump, still looking for these if anyone has anything. Cheers
  2. Of course this could be done the other way around with 2 meters of 9mm hose and 2x reducers, with 2 small bits of 15mm hose from can to reducers, that may be better actually.
  3. Think I have found a solution to the problem with a 15mm to 9mm PCV reducer here: http://www.jscspeed.com/catalog/Univers ... 984-1.html I am guessing it is a small piece of 9mm hose from the valve to the reducer and then run some 15mm hose from reducer to catch can as normal? So will need 2x reducers and 2meters of 15mm samco hose for the can with 2x small bits of 9mm for the reducer connections Or am I totally wrong? Cheers
  4. really good price I know, that is what is annoying!! I know they were alot more when we were discussing them! I did get a receipt yep, gonna give them a call tomorrow and just see if there is anything he can do. If not I will call Earls and last resort put it on ebay. Be a real shame to do that though.
  5. cheers, I will have a word with earls (found them) and see what it is gonna cost to get the bits and if too much then whack it on ebay. £100 to buy a new one over here from a trader, or £110 from the states on ebay, so at £45 might still be better to get the parts to fit this one. Thanks again.
  6. Cheers Ian appreciate it. I will go and look for this earls now
  7. cheers Ian, I thought you would have some ideas. So is this pretty much useless then? I take it I am right that I have the 15mm one then, as it is the diameter of the tap end not the hole in the tap? Earls? is that a machine shop then? Worst scenario is that I sell it on ebay and get the right one, only paid £45 and they are £70 on ebay.
  8. Hello all. Just wanted to pick your brains. At Japfest at the weekend I picked up a GReddy Catch Can at the Keo Sports trade stand (I beleive) Anyway, I said to the guy that the writing and instructions all over it were in Japanese and that I needed the 9mm one, as instructed by Ian in a thread I had read on the subject, so he got the parts out, assured me that you measure the inside diameter of the taps that go into the tank, that these were 9mm and it was the right one. Now at £45, as against the £100 they are online, I took his word for it and my mate bought me it for my birthday (which was nice of him) Anyway, still a little unsure, as I am sure the pipe diameter is what you go by, I noticed on the pack that there was a 15 on the label, so after some translation from my mates GF I have come to the conclusion I have bought a 15mm and been duped. The diameter of the hole on the taps is 9mm, but the diameter of the tap end that would go into the pipe is 15mm, so I take it, ti is the wrong one? So what can I do now, is it a major problem that it is the bigger size? I takie it the pipes that feed on to the plenum etc will not stretch over there may be some sort of problem with vaccum or flow? Can you get a reducer, I saw Ian ( I know you will read this and have all the answers ) had mentioned this somewhere. Any ideas where I can get one? Also anyone know where to get some red silicone pipe to fit it and how much I will need to fit it to the PCV side? Thanks in advance if anyone can help!
  9. morning all! Just wondering if anyone can help. My window motor/regulator has given up the ghost with my passenger window half open. I am going to be getting a new motor and booking it to get it sorted, but obviously using the car till then with an open window is a bit risky with a GTR track day tomorrow for my 30th and Japfedt next weekend I REALLY want to be able to use my Zed. Can anyone help with a way of getting the window closed? I have read guys on fixing, but it looks a bit much for me and also just going to get a new motor, but just need it shut for now. Got the day off, so any tips I can try to get it closed would be much appreciated! Thanks
  10. Really nice car Karolina, welcome aboard! Wheels look like Advan TC to me, in which case if they are then I would never be taking them off for set of wheel mania heavy ass rims! Keep her JDM!! Also if they are Advan, they very pricey!
  11. Thanks guys, yeah I have used Ross at JAPEX many times, he is great. Just wasnt sure if it was more an electrical thing, but I will give him a shout. So racinggreen, you think I am better to just replace the motor? I thought I may get away with a clean. How much was a new motor when you got one, did you get it from Alex? Cheers
  12. Cheers for this guide, looks great! Reading it though, I think it looks a little technical for me, or at least it looks it! Anyone had this done in the south that can recommend a technician, that wont charge a fortune like a Nissan dealer? I am in Enfield area, so Herts, North London Middlesex Cheers if anyone can help, it is doing my head in that the window is just stuck an inch from closed and is a security risk living in London!
  13. mine has the same noise, heard it today. Nothing to worry about! The car has a very noisey transmission naturally I find.
  14. Due to getting a HKS True Dual exhaust fitted today, I am selling my Buddy Club. It consists of Y-Pipe, Mid-Pipe, x2 Tail Pipe Cans and x2 bungs. This is one of the nicest exhausts for the Zed, the craftmanship and welding are exceptional and the fit on the car is perfect, it looks great!. It is also extremely light and one of the best flowing Y type exhausts you can buy for the car, due to a larger diameter mid section. The only down side to this is that it is on the louder side, especially if you go the decat route, as I have just done. It is not on the K1 level of noise however, and with the standard cats in I absolutely loved the sound, the tone of it is lovely. I would imagine with HFC's it would also sound sweet. Only Autosol'd one Can so far as I ran out of polish, but I will give the whole thing a good once over before it is collected. I have put some pics below and a few links to clips and info, to give you an idea. It's covered 10,000 miles and is in great condition. Looking for £300 Ideally I would prefer collection, however if you would prefer it posted then I am sure we can arrange something. Race Track driveby - With Berk HFC's - Full chat!! - Full Blast with unresonated test pipes - Take Off - Unresonated Test Pipes drive by -
  15. So wish I had the cash now to take this off your hands!! Might have to investigate a credit card tomorrow until my next bit of commission
  16. Tarmac quicker than me! Welcome aboard!
  17. the Y-Pipe version is much like the standard OEM setup, this is found in exhausts like the Nismo, that have a rear can with dual tailpipes and also twin cans like the buddy club. These can flow well, but depends on which one you go for and the diameter of the mid section so I am led to beleive. For example the Buddy Club has a 3" mid pipe so flows very well, but is loud. True Dual is a seperate pipe for each manifold bank, like a HKS or an Invidia or GReddy Evo2 system. These flow very well with usually a 2.5" pipe either side all the way to the tip, but obviously you have slightly more weight, due to more pipework. All much of a muchness to be honest on the Zed and I beleive it doesnt make a whole heap of difference until you go FI, when you need a more free flowing exhaust. Other will be along with more experience to add more I am sure.
  18. well I beleive you guys, the reason I asked here in the first place was to get your opinion and with the guys that have done it or had it done, then if you say 8 hours plus then I beleive you! I did think it was underestimated when he said it to me. The bolts I didnt even think about, but you are right on an 04 car they will be tough as anything to get off and if it is a pain to get at them also then will take a while. In terms of Mark, that was a really old thread I was reading when doing research and he mentioned he had done it with help. Will speak to the guy again in the morning and just clarify, half tempted just to get it done now to see how long it takes him!
  19. on what car though? for a slow mechanic your looking at 12 hours work, if you have sonmeone whos had the engines out of several zeds and knows there way round well, maybe 6-8 hours labour. if he can do it in 4 hours i want him on my pit crew He said he has done the OEM ones on a Zed before. I know Mark (3FIDDYZ) did his in 5 hours, so I guess it can be done, but hey I will have another chat with him tomorrow.
  20. Hmmm well he said he had changed oem ones before and it was around those times. Who knows, at 9 hours labour it is not worth doing I guess.
  21. wow those are good results Ian! I was thinking after reading all of peoples post history on the subject of headers that 2 hours per side was pretty quick, but I know it can be done in 4-5 hours if you have the tools and lift etc and 2 of you on it and he is a pretty good mechanice, but I will maybe warn him to aim for 6 hours haha! So realistically we are looking at more over the £400 mark all in then, still sounds worth it to me for 12hp! Thanks Guru's!!
  22. 12hp you say hmmm, now that is more appealing, but was then when you were S\C? Might not be the same N\A Well talking £100 for the headers, seem to be in great condition and my mechanic said he has done them before and 2hours per side, so £54 per hour, Im guessing it will be £300-350 range all in.
  23. Afternoon all! Been thinking about headers and I know usually these are a waste of time and not worth the cost, however...... If I could have a set of used ceramic DCSports headers, fitted all in for around £300, would this be worth doing? I guess you only gain about 5bhp, so just wondering if at that price it is worth doing, What do you guys think?
