  1. Bugger - should have listened to Alex and took it to Nissan, they couldn't find anything wrong apart from some low voltage faults that they cleared, light still on, they seem to think its the steering solenoid, yes they googled the problem lol, now booked in for 1st Feb at Nissan where i purchased it from and see what they say. Hopefully its not a £1300 fix thats been suggested else where on the net, my local garage did say to inform nissan uk about the problem if the dealership can't find the problem and they may be able to help further.
  2. Thanks Colin, thats what i thought, pulled the fuse anyways, can easily put it back in
  3. Car still working fine, booked car into my local garage on Wednesday, hopefully they can get to the bottom of the light problem

  11. Hi Guys, Since Saturday there's been a SOLID yellow key warning light on my dashboard, everything works as it should, opening doors, starting car etc, tried the spare fob still the same, left keys in the cup holder instead of pocket, even tried the fobgina slot and still the light is there, a google search says it could be steering lock fault but thought they were all sorted back in 2009-10, mine is now out of warranty and i don't fancy being stuck in the middle of no where if it fails to start the keyfob battery was changed last year, surely it cant be that as there's been no other warning messages, other than trying a new battery is there anything else i can try or is it a Nissan job
  12. thanks for quick reply, will let him know he seems to think it might be from the music hall era.
  13. Hi Guys n Gals, we all know there's a great knowledge base of all ages in here, so here's one for you my Elderly father is trying to find the name of a song or poem, possibly dating back to the early 1900's or later with the following lines/lyrics - "I stood there before my lover with my short shirt for a cover" "Ran home to my mother with my gloves in my hand and hat on one side" That's all he can remember and he'd like to get to the bottom of it if possible, google search seemed to have drawn a blank, HELP

  17. thanks for the reply, yeah don't really want to messing about with electrics and petrol, was going to use a water pump on the generator so that would add another hazard too. have looked for a brand new generator, about £160 for a similar model and would be safer
  18. had a cheapo petrol generator for a few years, don't use it that much but came to use it this morning and the circuit breaker wont stay in the on position, no click heard but does click when you select off, tried a little bit too hard and snapped of the prong on the left side so always in the off position , tried online and a few local electrical shops, sadly they have never seen one before any ideas where to find one or a different replacement that would work ?? size is 65mmx70mm (including screw terminals)x 38mm. cheers in advance.

  20. Sounds like a plan, try to get one with an i5 4570 or better, 8GB ram, 500GB+ HD and windows 10
  21. looks like the dell 9020 uses a proprietary PSU - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-i5-Optiplex-9020-Tower-PC/183104402313?hash=item2aa1df7389:g:wK0AAOSwQglamWp6 doesn't use the standard 20/24 pin motherboard connector as i wrongly assumed
  22. yeah slim towers (SFF - small form factors) are limited in hard drive space and graphics cards, they need a LP - low profile version, i have a gtx 750ti in a dell 7010 SFF, plays most games at pretty high details at a decent framerate. Best to go for a full tower then you can fit a few hard drives, full size graphic cards, then if needed, a different PSU as well. it is easy to build yourself, look on youtube for guides, plenty of computer forums as well for help and suggestions, if you want to go that route, a budget in mind it will make your decision easier To give you some idea of costs, my GTX1060 6GB cost £239 back in oct 2016, now they are over £300.
