  1. Mmm, an interesting lunchtime read! And Beavis - no we are not ALL nutters, just some!

Firstly there are two sides to every story. If you are that unhappy I can't believe she is very happy either. A marriage/relationship will not look after itself no matter how much you have in common. It's give and take and both need to make sacrifices for each other. You have to take the rough with the smooth and try hard. Kids don't mend a relationship and in a lot of cases actually break it when a woman's life and the things she can do changes and the man still does what he likes!

My marriage failed when my husband stopped participating in it! I would 'take one for the team' and do things he wanted to do but he did not reciprocate in any way shape or form. I became so lonely that I just left as I was more or less on my own anyway. I am now happy with someone else, we share a passion for cars and motorbikes and spend most of the summer bombing about on two wheels! BUT (importantly for me) we don't live together. He has his house and I have mine. I love my independence and my own space. It means that every bit of time we spend together is by choice! Even if we just sit in front of the TV doing nothing, it's not because we're forced to it's because we want to. Not ideal for everyone but I like it like that!

One thing I would say is this - if you do not want her, move on and give her the opportunity to start again with someone else. There is nothing more unforgivable than having your already very short life stolen. My only regret is not leaving sooner! The same applies for you - life is too short to be miserable! I wish you the best of luck.

  2. Most of my reading material would be no good to you as it's all thriller, murder type stuff but I was once recommended the most bizarre series of books that I thought sounded like a load of rubbish which I actually couldn't put down - not my usual thing at all, called Clan of the Cave Bear. Google it, you never know you might like it! I also started reading the books that Game of Thrones is based on and that was good as well, but I did understand it a bit more having seen the series!

I have a copy of IT you can borrow Nixy

I did read a lot of Stephen King in my younger days, I'm far too wimpy nowadays!

Clan of Cave Bear .......... rocks

It's a bit off the wall so I did wonder if anyone else would have read it! Glad it's not just me!

  4. I'm just as bad - I have the exact same brochure up in my loft! Along with all the boxes for stuff I buy that I'm convinced I still need, phones, speakers, hairdryers......you name it. I have also got huge box full of die cast supercars all still boxed. It's time for a sort out I think!

  6. I am just deciding whether to get a 6 or 6s. However, to put this into context, I'm not the type that needs the 'latest' phone, if I was I'd wait for the iPhone 99! I am still using an iPhone 4 and wouldn't bother changing if I had one with a bigger memory but it's now become less compatible with my more up to date ipad and I have no storage left - particularly as I use it for spotify in the car. I can get a 64gb iphone 6 or a 16gb iphone 6s for the same monthly fee. I don't want to pay extra for a bigger iphone 6s. I'm not bothered about taking videos either which I understand is a big upgrade. Is there really a great deal of difference? Would appreciate advice.

  7. Mine has an aftermarket alarm as it's an import so not sure if the same but I have a sensor at each side of the windscreen. Perhaps you could try sticking some tape over them and see what happens! I assume your alarm would still work in terms of bumps and the doors etc. However, I am the sort of woman that puts screws in with a knife instead of a screw driver so take my advice with caution!

  8. I had exactly the same issue - as daft as the spider comments sound, t was a daddy long legs floating around in the car at night - although I haven't seen many of those about lately it could be something similar. It just floated out one morning when I was getting in the car and all was fine again!
