  1. It was the customer service number which I got off the interactive screen. Just followed the menu on the phone until I got the "I want to reduce my package" menu. I reckon that actually puts you through to a retention hotline! I've also heard if you threaten to cancel altogether you can get it half price for 3 months. Lots of tips about sky on moneysavingexpert.com
  2. Ive never used this smiley before but..............
  3. Phoned sky last night to scale down my package. Hardly ever watch the movies and since Leeds Utd are no longer prolific on TV hardly ever watch sky sports. Most of the bike racing etc is on eurosport or normal tv. I am currently paying £57 a month for sky+ which includes £10 for multiroom - I phoned them and said I wanted to cancel multiroom and change my subscription to cancel the premium packages but keep all the 'entertainment' packages. Surprise surprise - all of a sudden they have a special offer and can let me keep it all for £30 a month until the end of January! I realise they do this in the hope that when it comes to it you will keep it after that time has expired. In fact we have done this before a few years ago. Anyway, if anyone wants to save a few quid in this current climate I'd recommend giving them a call but don't ask for the offer - just tell them you are going to cancel or go onto a cheaper deal.
  4. I agree, each to their own and all that. I have to say I know for a fact my son and all his mates would love those wheels so maybe its an age thing...........
  5. they look ok on the red, awful on the black. Still wouldn't have them on either.
  6. Its what?!!!! That is so funny!
  7. bloody hell, bet that scared the living daylights out of her! Hope she wasn't too shaken up!
  8. Hi Cara - welcome along. There does seem to be a lot of Zeds in Aberdeen now - just the right time of year with the snow arriving! Shouldn't you all be in big four wheel drives up there?
  9. I think those that do few miles are in the best position! It's not the car that's pricey now its the bloody fuel to run it.
  10. Nice one Tim (you've been quiet lately!) I have just overtaken you over the last couple of months - mines a 2003 and it's just touched 18k. Mind you, I've put 14k of those on it in 15 months............ I totally agree with you - you may as well keep it until it becomes collectable!
  11. Ice all over the car, frost on the trees and verges - slippy slidey time all ready this year? I bloody dread it living in the sticks with untreated roads. I did manage only one sideways journey through my village last year so fingers crossed! It's a long time until spring though!
  12. I'm begging you not to...................
  13. I wish they'd just bloody shut up about it - it's ok if you have no intention of moving house you just go with the rise and fall and rise again over the years but for those that HAVE to move it's a nightmare!
  14. I've had one of those - sounded like a metor hitting the side of the car - left a nice stone chip within a round dint above the rear wheel arch.
  15. is there a way of telling who's in there before you enter? Not that there's anyone I don't want to be left in a room with, just wondered...............
  16. fix it notice = vehicle defect notice. You have 14 days to get it put right, take it to an MOT station (who may or may not charge you), they fill a form in to say it's correct. You then have to send it to police. Pain in the arse!
  17. yeah, it's a target filler for them that's all. If they're bored or low on numbers you'll get it.
  18. They are doing brilliantly! As en ex Hull girl myself (cue the comments) I am watching them with great interest! Not to mention my cousin is in the youth team. I heard on the tv today they are 500 to 1 to win the premiership. Surely it's worth backing - more chance than winning the lottery!
  19. Stew - how do you end up being late when the clocks went BACK! If in doubt remember this - Spring Foward. Fall Back.
  20. welcome to the "I used to have a CTR but now i've got a Zed club" (yes me too!)
  21. welcome to Yorkshire! Mine didn't last 5 minutes! I just played dumb and said it was a present from my other half, then I asked the nice policeman to show me how it should be spaced, got chatted up for 10 minutes and given a defect notice. To be honest a fine would have been less hassle than having to get another plate and go to an MOT station! Police in our area are also well known for making you rip your tints off at the roadside too!
  22. +1 I've always said to stick it on He's scared it'll damage the paint.... Well cant really blame him I guess! Whether it is the plate or the holder the affected area is covered so what's the big deal that was exactly what I was thinking - it'll always have something over it anyway. And Sarnie, can you show us a picture, we don't know what you mean.
