  1. I've been pulled by a unmarked blue impreza STI. I was gunna asked him what it was like as i used to own one but as he was giving me a lecture i decided to keep quiet! They used to own an escort cosworth many years ago, which in them days was awesome to see. The police in Manchester have a Evo VII or VIII, think its the FQ320 model.
  2. I didn't have any problems with my gearbox at all until at my last service i asked them to change the gearbox oil even though it was not scheduled to be changed. Since then it struggles into 1st and 2nd when its cold? a totally noticeable difference. Wished i hadn't bothered paying £32 for the oil change.
  3. Glad you've finally got your car! nows the time to start enjoying it. regards focus: The performance of this car was for me pretty shocking in a good way. It has loads of grip and handles really well even on worn tyres. The LSD is pretty fierce and really pulls you out of bends unlike any other FWD car i've driven but the downside is that it does torquesteer alot. It doesn't bother me too much, maybe makes me alittle edgy at the very most, you just have to make sure you grip the steering wheel quite hard. On track this thing would be tons of fun. as with most turbo cars you've got to keep the turbo on song if your pushing on as theirs not much pull before the turbo's kicked in making it alittle tricky with the AP clucth to set off from a standstill. I personally like the looks and think it looks like a under-rated rally slag. It isn't as flashy as the new focus ST or VXR but you can use that to your advantage as most people dismiss it as a run of the mill focus. The engine starter button although looks good is abit of a gimmick as you still have to put the key in the ignition. + points: Good brakes, nice power (not much slower than a Z, pos quicker round tighter stuff) Great handling, some underated looks. - points: Didnt like driving position felt like i was driving a bus as the seat is high up, steering wheel too fat at 2-10 and 3-9 positions making me move hands into awquard positions to grasp wheel, noisy diff above 60mph, lack of power below 3k.
  4. cheers mate! I think I'll ask them what costs are involved before i let them carry out any work.
  5. Y-Pipe: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-350z-02-06 ... dZViewItem Header: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-350z-chrom ... dZViewItem Anyone know anything about these??
  6. Bugger. Does the axle clicking do any long term damage? I can live with the clicking as its only when im setting off but thought id get it looked at.
  7. Good luck mate, i think you'll enjoy it. My mate has a focus RS that i borrow now and then which will be similar to the cupra i guess, whenever i get into the RS i turn into a right loon. The way it handles and revs are shockingly different. The Z definatley requires more of your attention when pushing on but thats what i enjoy about the car. U'll certainly enjoy the pose factor you get with the Z
  8. I've booked my car into Lythgoe's as i know some people on here have been v.happy with their service. I've asked to have a major service done on the Z and was quoted £220, is this right? it sounds abit cheap to me. Also ive asked them to look at: Clicking rear axle Handbrake needs adjustment sqeeky drivers seat grinding on left nearside brake (still at least 1/3 life left in pads) My car is imported and obviously out of warrenty. What would i expect to pay over the service cost for the above issues. Is their anything else i need to be aware of when i take my car, this will be the first time i have used nissan's services and im pretty apprehensive.

D.P Tyres Unit 8, Landgate Ind Est,Wigan Rd, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, Lancashire WN4 0BW think its Junction 25 off the M6. come off slip road and take a right at the roundabout, follow road for around 400 yards, it will be the 2nd turning on your left just before a speed camera.

  12. Thanks Minel, Where did you get your Tokico D-Specs and RS-R Ti2000's from? How much £ am i looking at? I'm scanning google for the Tokico D-Specs but i can only find one place in the states. I'm useless.
  13. Cheers ir_fuel but i'm planning to do that as well as the suspension work. Theirs always something to learn and i'll be going on as many driving courses as i can afford. Finding ones that are not a rally or supercar experience is hard. Anyone any expert know how on the suspension?

OK Just got back! It was £35 for all four corners adjusted, which is cheaper than what we were originally quoted. The service i recieved from Darren was good. He told me what he was doing as he was doing it and let me watch the work being carried out as the computer adjusted itself. The Supertracker system is pretty smart and as mentioned earlier adjust in realtime wirelessly, with the toe on the screen constantly changing as Darren was turning the spanners. I found my rear toe was -2.4 when it should have been between +0.8 - +1.9, which from my little knowledge of suspension is quite far out. All i can say from the short journey home is that the car feels much more planted. For £35 i cant believe i didn't do it earlier. I have my printout, if anyone wants to see it let me know. Chris
  16. I am interested in improving the handling of my zed and would like some help on what i should do first. Basically i am after improving my zed for fast a-road type setup without going Coilovers as i will be doing very little track driving and would like to keep cost + ride reasonable. Should i go for ARB@S first? I was thinking of getting up-rated ARB's but how much labour is involved and what effect will these have? (Possible options Cusco, Tanabe, Nismo) Or: would it be better to get an uprated damper and spring setup? What would be a recomended setup? (Koni+Eibach? etc..) Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Chris

  20. If anyone else has some spare tickets i'd be grateful if they could pm me. I'd be willing to pay postage and cover any costs etc. I went to this last year and wouldnt mind going again. i cant believe ive missed out this time! Doh!
  21. Thats the one! I looked at soo many i forgot the name.
  22. K&N Gen 2. It's certainly amplified the noise from the engine. Was on the expensive side, being short Ram i didnt want to get heat soak etc.. and lose power, so i picked the best design i could from the options available and just went from there. From previous experience with K&N i knew the quality would be good, which it is. Sounds Great anyway!!
  23. Here you go H5, i'm not sure whether i want to add the Nismo sticker to the oil cap yet but i have taken pics with and without for you. Sorry for the sizes of them, i didnt think they would come out so BIG. Just did them quick thios morning with my Phone's camera. edited: Haha, done it....resized!
