  1. Are you the first (Fair)lady of Z !?!?
  2. OMG T W Whites up to their old tricks again trying to pretend to Jo Public that they have special edition exclusive cars for sale without saying that all they really are are cheap imports ..... there were a lot of 'interesting' reports over on the UK RX8 forum about this lot.
  3. yeah and IMHO .. the Z was better looking to start with and was STILL better looking afterwards .. so NO contest ... !!!!
  4. One thing i probably have been neglecting to mention was what my lovely wife has been thinking about all this ... but i'm glad to asy that after two bottles of Friday night wine i have 'fessed up to my/our most recent purchase .... and she thinks it's COOL !!!! My god i'm just realising that this place is slowly turning into a motorists confessional box for me ! Oh FGS .. why is it not two weeks later ALREADY YET !!!!???
  5. v v v nice car mate Minel - i'm begining to think you have some sort of photo fettish ......... just like me !!!!!
  6. Sorry - just catching up on this post - but i ahve to say that when i was looking recently at which sports car to get i did look at the Porsches - one of my neighbours has a Cockster (as Clarckston call it) and it does look nice and does tick a few boxes. But when i was in the local showroom i didn't even get a 'hello'. They didn't even recognise that my molecules had ever existed in the space time continuum. I know i was realistically going to be getting a second-hand Boxster for the money i was willing to spend but they certainly didn't know that - just because i'm not an ageing business man in a pin-stripe. Got a severe chip on my shoulder about that .. that's another story though. So the long and the short of it was that i spoke to a v nice chap in my local Nissan dealership and now i'm in the waiting queue for my Z that's turning up hopefully quicker than i think .. Porsche has SERIOUSLY gone down in my estimation - if i could ever afford a top end one i would still rather spend my money elsewhere. I mean it's not as if they have any exclusivity on quality sports cars.
  7. Just got my copy - and from looking at the map and the fact that there's a Nissan 'dealer' in the game where you can buy a 350Z and the S Tune Version too - i know what i'll be doing tonight and for the next two weeks solidly until the real thing arrives. Gamertag is (imaginatively) 'Burgershot' so if anyone fancies a blast tonight i should be on once the wife goes to bed (these days about 10ish after looking after the kids all day) until the wee small hours
  8. Cheers guys - can't wait !!!!! Here's the only picture i've seen of it so far - it's from the advert they had on the website ... and i spoke to one of the guys down at the dealers in Brum who i got it from and he told me that it's got the GT pack AND SatNav and the wheels and tyresare brand spanking new as the guy who sold it to them took his own wheels off and put them on his new Black Z leaving the new ones from his black Z to get put straight onto my Azure (if you know what i mean ).. BONUS !!!!
  9. I just realised what my car keyring has been for the past year or so (yeah i know ageing old rocker that i am) I should have seen the signs a long time ago and just bought a Z way back then ....
  10. HI ! and Must keep an eye out for yo myself whenever i'm in Glasgow visiting my old Mum and various mates. Obviously after my 2 grueling week wait until my Z turns up. A blast in the highlands you say Monkfish ... i feel a Scottish Z meet coming on ...
  11. Jacko i'd love to let you do me that very kind favour but it's already being organised to getting put on a big shiny truck and winding it's way up here all by itself But you're more than welcome to come up and wash it for me any time you like - that is if you'll ever be able to find any dirt within a 4 mile radius of my new baby once i get my hands on it But a serious idea now chaps lets organise some sort of meet half way between everyone south of the border and all of us 'oop north' Ooooh i just realised i was being quite chauvanistic by saying 'chaps' but actually i haven't read any posts yet from ladies ... as an aside ... any ideas how many girls drive 350Z's !?!? I would stab a guess that there's not as many as there are driving AUDI TT's and most recently RX8's
  12. Welll i've just GONE AND DONE IT !!!!! My local dealer was able to haggle with the guys down in Birmingham and were able to get the 54 Azure with Nismo kit up here for me and kept my trade-in price for my car the SAME !!!??? That one is still baffling me - as most of the time dealers will give one price for your car based on one vehicle and if you decide on a cheaper car then they will give you an offer of much less on your car etc. etc. Anyway it's costing me hardly anything to go from my brick to a new (to me) Z and i won't have to travel to pick it up - plenty of driving to be done anyway once i get my hands on it up in the Highlands ! Probably be about 2 weeks for them to get it here .. now officially THE longest two weeks in history !!!! So .. the next Scottish meet - when's that then !?
  13. Well i would - but that would mean selling my car privately and i just don't have the energy or time to do that - i'm a lazy bugger me ! But i did look at pistonheads and you're right - there are some crackers on there.
  14. Thanks Max I'll give them a call and see what they've got in stock right now. cheers
  15. HELL YEAH !!!!11 that's EXACTLY what i am thinking !!!! if i drove to Birmingham and then had to drive home (after an initial visit obviously) in a fantastic new (to me) Z then i can't think of a better way to get to know the new love of my life !!!! I will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say and then let you all know. on a slight side note - my local dealer is trying to get this car for me and then sell it on to me but is having trouble getting in touch with them (they think that that dealership is beinga bit reluctant to not get the trade for themselves) so if i can do a longish journey to get the car i love then all the better !
  16. never been to Larbert exactly mate but the area around it is pretty nice and a great location for commuting to all the major areas in Scotland (Edinburgh and Glasgow and Stirling etc.) plus you are the right side ot 'the Central Belt' to go up north like i did (with the RX8) on MANY MANY an occasion for a blast in the highlands - THE BEST ROADS IN THE WORLD for a good blast !!!! All in all a V good choice mate ! Best of both worlds !!!!
  17. not wanting to pry buds but which part of Scotchland are you moving to !? Haven't managed to find any Scottish meets on here you see - and think we all might have to organise one soon(ish depending on my arrival)
  18. Yeah i'm finding that too now Stew. Tell me did you p/x your old car with who ever you bought your Z from? I am thinking of trying to ask the dealership down south to give me a value for my car over the phone (with some sort of disclaimer for both parties that if either car isn't what it's claimed it is then either one of us can back out without any repercussions) and if the price is right i would quite happily give them a deposit and travel to pick it up. Anyone ever done anything like this ever before !? I know it's a long shot - it's just SUCH a nice car and would hate it if it was the only example of it's kind that came up for sale whilst i'm looking and i missed a great opportunity !?
  19. Well i 'had it out' with the wife last night and she say 'YES' !!!! Now all i've got to do is find one that is the right spec and price up here in Scotland. My local dealer only has one black roadster - which isn't to my taste (the roof not the colour) and a tad too expensive. I'm looking at spending about 25K and have found the perfect one at a dealership in Birmingham which is a 2005 GT with the full NISMO kit in Azure. Absolutely gorgeous but just too far to travel for them to offer me a pittance for my trade-in. I'm being offered 22K for my C70 at my local dealership so now i've got that in mind i'm reluctant to accept anything less. Will keep you all posted how the search goes, but MOST IMPORTANTLY i'll be definetly joining the world of Z in the VERY near future - hopefully ASAP !!!!

Jim - now that i think about it - there something i need to ask you as a buyer of an import from McKay - how actually IS the car - i mean REALLY !?!?!?!?? I can be sold on most things in this world or ours no matter what and if Kye McKay was my mate then i would have bought one about 2 months ago but i just got the feeling that the cars were a bit sub-standard and in almost all terms they were not up to UK spec in any way what so ever. I really hope i am wrong and you can tell me that he can supply me a V good Z for a really good price. Let me know what your feelings are of your import after all the time you have owned it because i would be really interested - cheers.

That's where I got mine. I was pleased with their prices and service. Proved very helpful in getting a spare key cut and sourcing a handbook etc. Well i was gooing to say that the ones i saw there were pretty poor by all accounts - however the 'optional leather interior' that he was punting was FANTASTIC !!!! and for only £495 seemed like a bargain !!!!! But he had about 4 or 5 Z's in on the day i visited and they seemed pretty ropey TBH - if you got a good one off him then that's good - but i suppose every importer is at the mercy of what stock they can get their hands on at the time - i'm not writing him off AT ALL - he's a nice guy - and i'll wait and see the Blue one he's getting in on 20th Sept which he claims is a cracker before i decide whether to go with him or not. But until then i'm going to put myself on the fence.
  22. Yeah the RX8 was REALLY thirsty - and not just the petrol - but the oil too ! I too loved the look of the 8 when it first came out and even commented to myself and others about how much i didn't like the Z - it might have been jealousy and not wanting to admit it - but 3 years later and i agree the 8 is common on the road and looks like a Smart roadster from the rear - i saw one of each side by side the other day and had to do a double take) whereas i still hardly ever see any Z's and when i've been to see them recently I have really fallen in love with the looks just like i did originally with the 8. I think the only real argument i'm gonna have with the wife is the fact that she won't be able to use it with the 2 kids if i take her car for any reason. So that's why i'm waiting until next year and i'll get a new Z AND a £500 runabout just to shut her up. If anything it'll just sit on the driveway and prove my point that we really DON'T need two 4 door 4 seat cars all the time. You mentioned 'the 300bhp model' - now i've got an excuse 'cos i'm a newb - but i thought that they were all 276bhp - or was that GT4 version different. Plus do you all think that next year Nissan have any plans update the Z again - and would it be worth waiting even longer 'till that one comes out !? thanks for all this good info BTW - it's certainly fuelling my fire !
  23. Cool ! Cheers ! One less thing the wife can moan about i.e. me taking her car to golf and leaving her with the Z for herself and 2 kids - somehow she thinks that would be a problem - not in my eyes - that would just mean that my car would sit on the driveway and NOT get trashed by little feet and sticky hands
  24. Oh yeah one more thing - a dealer the other day told me you could fit 2 sets of golf clubs in the boot of the Z !!!!!????? Now just from looking at it when he was saying this - i thought 'Boll**ks' - but hopefully some of you might be able to confirm or deny !? Not that it's a major worry for me - just good to know if i can get even just one set in there.
