it'sonly a swear word if we're all scared of them .. which having owned both now, i can tell you, we certainly shouldn't be .... so instead it should be a word of mirth .... the RX8 doesn't compare guys - seriously it REALLY doesn't compare. The 8 is a fun car - don't get me wrong ... but the Z is a proper sports car through and through ... the end.

was thinking the same as i went from Edinburgh down to the Borders this mornign and back again .. and didn't see one single Z on the whole trip !!!!

GOD - don't temp me !!!! Although i will say the rays and tyres are brand new - the previous owner got his OEM ones put onto his brand new one at trade-in and (now my) new ones from his new Z put onto my car (if all that makes any sense!? ) So i'll wait until they get kerbed or i can do a good trade-in on them for a LOVELY set of VOLKS !!!!! infact still got a complete set of brand spanking new RX8 18's which i got in a warranty deal after i had already put on some Kei rims. Ahhhh .. all the possibilities that i love with the Z !!

just ordered one tonight on ebay ! you read my mind ! .... and while i was at it - got a couple of Z badges and Spill's grounding kit .. that'll teach the wife to go away for the night and leave me home alone with the bank card and a few beers !

Sorry - yeah - must be the endorphins in my blood stream after my fantastic Z day - it went - clean - shammy - wax - polish. Probably all completely wrong - but i loved it .... what's that i hear you say !?!?!?!?! oh !? .. ok then .. you've twisted my arm ..... now i really need to get to some decent locations for some decent shots ... front of house doesn't really do the car justice i don't think ... anywho ....

Just spent my fist full Saturday of ownership washing and cleaning and polishing the whole Z inside and out - for about ... .... 3 hours !!!! I'm sorry - but the kids were mucking about on their bikes and the wife was away for the day (and tonight - ha ha - just me - beer - and the Ryder cup highlights - BLISS) so there was nothing to do but spend some quality time gettign my new baby completely spanking new looking. Found a few stonechips and it still didn't spoil the whole experience for me. I used to LOVE doing the same with my RX8 - but i think the Z has just taken my obsession to a new unprecedented level of 'sadness' Sorry - had to 'share'

Hi John From the Edinburgh area myself (just outside - wee place called Haddington in East Lothian) Good choice of car mate was tempted by the Kuro myself - but found a lovely GT Nismo Azure and fell in love - only had her one week - and just spent a 'sad' (according to my wife) 3 hours cleaning and waxing for the first time after a 2 hour blast down to The Borders and back on the twistiest twisties i could find Great to have another Scot on board.

the default red light that comes up telling you to change up is set to 6600 - but you can change that to whatever you want - i think it does let you change it up to 7000 - and i think that the actual redline where the engine cuts the power is at 7000rpm on pre-facelifts. I just know now i've said it i'll be completely wrong

Well i went for my 54 plate car mainly because of all the extras that i got and didn't have to pay for. It's a UK GT, with SatNav and rear parking sensors, oh and the Nismo bodykit (which was a must for me as i would only have had to spend in about a year or so to add it later) The other 06 cars that my dealer had in stock were nice too - but not GT versions and without all the extras i had - and they were still selling them 'nearly new' for between £4 - £5K more than my car. For me there was no choice at all. I test drove an 06 before getting my car and i couldn't tell any difference at all. I'm sure there must be - but Jo Bloggs here who drives his car to work and back and takes the long B road route home every day wouldn't be able to really notice 20bhp. On a track maybe - but on the roads i haven't been able to. Yours sincerely Jo Bloggs

Hi Don't know many answers to your specific questions - but i do know the answer to the most important one 'What have i done' You have just made THE BEST decision of your car owning life. I've just recently been through quite a few until i found the Z and now i love it more than any other car i have ever owned - and that's within 1 DAY - i know i should give it some time before making sweeping comments like that but it's absolutley 'love at first drive' Well done - you will LOVE it. Don't look back - only forward - at the road ahead that you are about to eat up with the biggest grin on your face EVER !!!!

Mate - i don't know how to comment on you rexperience today - apart from the tw@t who was laughing at the situation - when i read that bit i was REALLY hoping you were about to tell us you ended up putting HIM in hospital - i know i would have done exactly the same. i REALLY can't believe someone would have done that. Anyway you are totally right - tomorrow any one of us could get knocked down by a bus (God i hope not - but you never ever know). So get out there and live life to the full. When my Dad died recently i know that in his eyes on his death bed he was thinking WOW i've got a great wife, son and daughter who love me SO much and i'm glad i loved them as much as i did and enjoyed every moment that i've had with them. He really really was not thinking 'WOW that deal i did back in '86 with that company which made my company some money was the most rewarding experience of my life' - and my Dad was a TOTAL business man who was really strict and never really showed much emotion apart form when it involved business. SO he could have easily have been that guy you were trying to save in the Jag. I can only hope that his family and he had as good a time together as we all should with everyone we know and love. Now get out there everyone and enjoy life. If that involves us going for a blast in our Z's or just visiting our old Aunties in hospital then it will make us happier people when the grim reaper comes calling for us - AND HE WILL ONE DAY - NO MATTER WHAT. Hi Just picked up my Z and to my pleasure i found out it has already got rear parking sensors fitted .... but there's nothing in the 'manual' about how they work. Now i'm not a complete novice - the wife's XC90 has got them and i know how they work - slow beeps rising until fast beeps and then a constant beep when you're as close as you want to get. However we were told all about this when we got the car and so trusted what the salesman and manual told us. But i don't know exactly what the Nissan system does and i don't really want to just presume that it's exactly the same as the Volvo one only to find out that i was being a preumptous idiot when i bang into a wall whilst getting a fast beep. So please can someone tell me what happens whilst reversing and is it at all possible to get the beeps louder in some sort of system settings - when i have heard the beeps they have been VERY VERY quiet !? In the Volvo the Sound System quietens whilst the parking sensors are activated and the beeps are a LOT more audible. thanks BTW - i simply just can NOT wait until i wake up again in the morning to get back in her - now if only i could think up a good name - the only one i have come up with so far is 'Clucking Belle'.
