Just been out to play with my bro. He has an evo 4 with full 3" nur spec exhaust, stainless manifold,fq 340 turbo+loads more he was only running a bar[14.8psi]310>320bhp From the lights he inevitably got a few lengths but amazingly the Z had pulled it back by 70 unfortunately we had to slow down for traffic we then exited the DC and headed for the motorway roundabout, My bro managed to get in front with a wreck less maneuver and there was only one lane left at the lights so I pulled up behind him. We where off again I was right on him gave the Z full throttle which caused the back end to start drifting out I slowly eased off the power kept focused on the evo and the road and the back end magically came back in[i love these cars]I stayed with him all the way round the roundabout. He then slowed down so I could pull up beside him to make it fair, we were both rolling in first I let him give it the nod I got the jump on him because he did not have any boost slammed it in second the backend shook a little squatted down and was off I already had 2 lengths on him and I was only halfway through second slammed it in third and it squealed and just kept creeping away from thr evo by the time I got to ** I had 5>6 lengths on him My Z did me proud even my bro was shocked at the way the [prehistoric drive car] handled and performed And I have'nt even started modding yet btw all this was done on bridgestones with no girlie TC

Ideally I would like to replace the 10" thats in.

Iam just expressing my opinion but I dont think there is anything wrong with the bridgestones they are not a wet weather tyre but when driven correctly offer a reasonable amount of grip in the wet. I have tried many makes of tyres mostly on the s14 which has more power than the Z and no girlie TC: toyo's,goodyear f1's,avon's and have found that none of them have as much grip as the bridgestone's when warm there amazing. I found the toyo's just sqeaul at the first sign of G and just melt when you get them really hot but I agree there better when it's wet but I still would nt buy them. If I was after a wet weather tyre I Would go for the goodyear F1's they out perform the toyo's in wet and dry.

TBH I dont think I have ever seen a proper install. I have seen alot of different set ups and have never seen one with 10"'s produce the deep bass Iam trying to achieve. I would much rather keep the standard type interior no boxes and extra weight[Z is heavy enough as it is] but dont want to pay thousands for an install I was planning to buy most of the equiptment from the states. So this speaker mentioned above will produce decent low level bass? I already have an amp so if thats the case I only need a sub Can I listen to this sub with one of my cd's.

'No highs, no lows, it must be BOSE' I can understand where you're coming from regarding the compatibility, not the best. But a head unit change will result in a change in required for everything else...... As for the sound, how have you got it set up? For a vaguely decent sound, you'll need to fade it forwards a couple to get rid of the confusion from the rear mounted speakers. It also adds a slight definition to the bass. As for the 'one 10 isn't enough, I need 2 12's', I couldn't disagree more. A decent 10" sub would give you more useable bass hands down. 12" subs do not have the snappiness you'd need for general listening unless you're putting mid bass drivers in the front doors? My last competition car had one 10" sub strapped to a proper amp and that could get all the way down to sub-sonic levels and still snap like mad on dance tracks. Please don't add a person's worth of weight with 2 12" subs, buy a decent 10 and spend the rest on proper install and finishing. Plus to do the 12's justice you'd need two amps. And then you'll need to spend a lot of time listening to set it up, if music is your bag. Got plenty of test CD's if you're interested, so you can see what it should be doing. Depends how far you want to go! Iam into rnb and hip hop and bassline house 10"'s dont provide a deep bass as you said it's more of a punchy bass which is no good to meI was thinking 2x T-rex's and a 2.5k amp for proper bass.

tbh I was nt really after a gt/st I was after a normal uk/s because they weigh less and are slighty less money but the one I have seemed to much of a bargain to miss. I dont use the cruise control I have had a little play and must admit I was really tired at the time but I found my self trying to slow down with the cruise instead of the brake as an automatic reaction and was having to think about using the brake all this only takes a split second but in my opinion it slows reaction times down so it cant be a good thing and i've never been idle so I wont bother again. The tan leather is a bit to soft and I have already scratched my seat up[my jeans have zips on the pockets] The heated seats are good when its cold

Iam not happy with the stereo in my Z. I cant get the cd player to display the track title ect which most stereos have been doing for atleast five years and it does nt even play mp3's cd's and you cant plug a mp3 player in either you dont f****** need a six disc multi cd nowadays and they advertise the gt with bose stereo like its something good I've seen better down the local cattle market for twenty pounds The tops and mid range are ok but it does nt have enough bass the 10"is nt adeqaute.[not with that amp] Iam hoping to get 2 12's in and a new amp has anyone managed to squeeze something simalar in?

Don’t buy a car from JC imports he stole my deposit which he said was refundable because the car was not registered for another 3 weeks I looked on the internet today and noticed he had dropped the price by 250[my deposit]. He wants to much for the car any way 16000 for a manual T with 11k T’s don’t have ESP or brembos and loads of other stuff and apart from that its probably been used for drifting like a lot of jap cars I only paid 16800 for my UK GT with RAYS and 14k on the clock so I think its only worth 14800 Its been up for three weeks and has not sold so a lot of people must think like me.

Got my z on saturday my first mod is going to be a decat I cant see the point in getting a cat back exhaust because it seems like half a job to me. Had a look on ebay there seems to be a few american ones available but not sure if there going to fit? Has any one had one from the states or been able to get hold of a uk one?

I would go for the 2005 model I believe the 2006 model is 100kg heavier so the extra 20bhp will not make up for the extra weight. As you said the 2005 model will still come on a new plate and be cheaper but could possibly depreciate more quickly.

that's what i was thinking. I only experienced a little understeer in the wet with the re040 on tbh Thats whats i've got on what tyre's do you lot recommend? I tried the toyo's on the 200sx they where better in the wet but seemed to break alot earlier when it was dry[comparing them with the old potenza s02's]

I filled up with v power today was 7p a litre more than 95ron here. Is it worth putting it in?Does the ecu make use of the better qaulity fuel I know most jap cars do or are they just set up for 95ron?
