  1. "Standard equipment: Sat-nav, xenon headlamps, leather sports seats, 18-inch alloys, driver and passenger airbags, Brembo brakes" "The only downside is that none of this is going to come cheap. The Japanese firm has already hinted that the latest model will be at least £1,000 more than the outgoing car, taking this 350Z to £26,500, with GT versions costing nearly £30,000." Is it me or does a MY06 GT with Sat Nav not already cost around £31k? Not too keen on these price reductions.. it might affect resale value Also in the Autoexpress pics the cruise control buttons appear to have vanished from the sterring wheel - shame, I find them very handy for average speed cameras. G
  2. <----- Luggage net, going shopping is now a far less hazardous affair. G
  3. I was just about to buy one as a weekend runaround...lucky escape!
  4. The day we ahd at Silverstone was (to use the American venacular) "awesome". Exige Caterham Rally prepared 206 RS4 Porsche 911 F355 Berlinetta Land Rover (on an off road course rather than the track) Single Seaters Last thing we all drew lots for one of the faster cars to do a complete lap. I got the Porsche but swapped for the F355 since it was such a superb drive earlier. If anyone has £500 of their company's money to splurge on a jolly I would highly recommend it. http://www.silverstone.co.uk/html/dr_gp.php
  5. '97 plate, £47k.... I'll have two please.... I drove one round the Gran Prix circuit at Silverstone. Magnificent, the most underrated Ferrari in my humble opinion.
  6. I sthis thread just another excuse for Sarnie and sl114 to get their post counts up?
  7. Hope you've got a cargo net, shopping rolls around all over the place.
  8. It's a little thing but bloody annoying - make sure he reattaches the phone cradle anntena that goes behind the mirror properly. Mine wasn't properly restuck and it keeps dangling!!
  9. Thanks guys.... Looks like I need a warranty visit to the Stealer in the New Year. Does anyone else have the 05/55 Sat Nav without the M6 toll etc? Maybe if we can get a bulk order for new maps together Mr F or Holdcroft can get a deal from Nissan. G
  10. The Swiss 350z forum seems to be a little bit better than us at this..... http://www.350z-club.ch/4images/categor ... 0dc6044975
  11. I've got a holder for the remote! Mounted on the rear bulkhead between the seats. Specifically placed to be a real pig to grab while driving (which of course I never do coz that wouldn't be safe).
  12. Guys I've now been driving my Zed for just over three months and I've got to the minor gripe stage (though I still wouldn't drive anything else short of an Aston or Ferrari!) Does anyone else suffer from the following or can offer some advice: 1. Clicking Rear Axle - yes I know there are 17,312 other posts but I'm really busy at the moment. Does it do long term damage or can I wait until life is less hectic in the new year? 2. Headlight Warning "Ding" - doesn't seem to work any more. I keep leaving the lights on! 3. Drivers Side Window Auto Drop - seems to only work inconsisently 4. Factory Fit BirdView - the DVD seems waaaay out of date (e.g. no M6 toll etc). Is it possible to get an update without taking out a mortgage to go see a stealer 5. Torque in First - is it just my really bad driving style or does first just rev really quickly with little torque? I don't seem to get proper "grunt" until I change in to 2nd at about 2,500 revs 6. Windscreen / Headlamp Wash - sometimes (it seems to be when I haven't used the windscreen wash for a while) instead of cleaning the windscreen pulling the stalk washes the headlights instead of the screen. very annoying if you've just washed the car! Is this a "feature"? 7. Bluetooth Integration - in general works great but then the stupid tart just seems to loose her ability to hear and all you get is "Pardon?". Very polite but equally annoying. Lastly I had to get the windscreen replaced (very efficient insurance job via Autoglass) but the sensor thingy (technical term) behind the rear view mirror now doesn't attach properly. Anyone know what it is for and how I can best reattach it (my only thought so far is double sided sticky tape and I don't want to muck up the sensor). Many thanks in advance Graham
  13. After about 4 months getting used to my Z and for a pretty even mix of commute, motorway and London driving I'm at 26 mpg on the trip. In general I get about 360 - 380 on a tank (down to about 20 mls dte) but I've noticed that putting BP Ultimate in actually brings down the range rather than putting it up. From here on in I'm sticking to V-Power / Tesco 99 (when I can get it). G
  14. I have the good fortune to have a 42" Panasonic Viera with Sky HD in my not that large living room. Mostly we watch the HD footie and golf but the BBC Preview channels wildlife stuff is quite amazing. What I'm really looking forward to is Top Gear in HD with full digital sound! On which topic I'm looking for an audio system to plug into the telly (as my xmas present to myself) anyone know anything worth recommending? G
  15. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=322931 Obviously Australian's have far too much time and too many long straight roads. I know Everest had to be climbed because it was there but why did they have to do this? Bet you there is just a touch of turbo lag in there somewhere..... G
  16. Just made me look like a right wally by bursting out laughing in the middle of the office! I was a particular fan of the "missing" engine. Quite superb.... post of the week! G
  17. Do you mean twisting the twisty thing or moving the stalk (sorry for the techno babble). I always seem to twist the twisty thing the wrong way but that's probably coz my old Alfa worked the other way. I do find that the stages on the intermittent are odd. You have almost constant to one a month and not very much in between.
  18. why not just flip the nice little switch and draw the mirrors in? I suspect they would then be less wide than the rear wheel arches.
  19. I bought my 55 plate at just over 10k six weeks ago, didn't notice anything and now (12k) get clicking all the time. As soon as I get time to breath it's off to the stealer for me (though since I bought it from a Nissan "specialist" 100 yds from my door and they said they'd arrange any warranty work for me it won't be too much hassle).
  20. I had a corporate day at Silverstone (the Gran Prix Experience - highly recommended) where we got to drive a race prepared RS4 around a section of the GP track. Even though we drove F355s, 911s and Exiges as well the RS was probably the fastest straight line car all day but there is a very very big BUT! When you try and stop the damn thing it is a bit like asking a 747 to just hang on for a second while most of the way through take off. The thing is a boat! My advice, let him go but keep your foot down, by the other side of the first bend you'll be flashing him to move over..... G
  21. Got my BT Adapter up and running (easy peasy) but, even though the incoming call volume is great the outgoing volume is (apparently) not so hot. I've got my phone turned up as far as it will go and try to talk towards the mike but still can't get anything better. Any ideas out there? G
  22. I looked at the Crossfire while shopping for my eventual Z. On the whole I wasn't much of a fan of the styling, the cabin seemed (relatively) cramped and the driving experience was far less involved. Horses for course of course but in my case I just didn't think the thing acted or drove like a 300 Bhp+ car should. G
  23. 94.9p for Tesco 100 RON. At a saving of £3.20 I'd rather have the extra horses ta very much. G
