  1. I reckon I'd have been banned from there if I logged on more than once a week for 10 mins!

I got close to being banned but wasn’t in the end. Mods are members here so I wont discuss. I login in about once a week to see if any of the Irish members have posted anything.

Many reasons not to give this car a second look.

    That troll behind the wheel.

    It’s not a Super GT.

As far as I’m concerned it’s not a GT2 engine.

    It’s… ah I just don’t care.

The true value of that car, as far as I’m concerned, is whatever a 2003 Z on it’s second engine is now.

  2. :teeth:

Tried searching for this post, but looks like no one has started one.

Any one up for this challenge?

Obviously we will use the 350z in the game,

Whoever is up for it, we will all choose a course to post the fastest time.

To be even geekier, post your car settings..

    B)

I'm up for it even though I should be doing some work.

Although I haven't even played it since I opened it and tried it once

What mode, track, car and setting shall we use? :D

Standard Fairlady Z. i.e. not the concept tuned one.

Driving aids are up to yourselves.

Tune the car if you want or can. You have to finish the game to tune cars. Bronze in all events will do to finish it.

Or as most probably haven't bothered to finish the game no tuning allowed.

    Standard or professional?

  3. :welcome: to the forum Jackie. I assume you mean tyres? alot go for Toyo, Falkens or Michelin pilot sports but for gods sake dont put the Bridgestones back on ;)

    Welcome Jackie.

Slightly off topic but as I believe there's nothing really wrong with the stones - am I correct in saying that the stones are actually summer tyres??? I think they might be. If so this would explain many of the complaints surrounding them.

  4. Self cancel works fine for me. Having said that I've always had a habit of tapping the indicator stick when returning the wheel to centre after a turn.

Now if you want to compare them to a car that really sucks drive and Astra. Self cancel didn't work and there seemed to be no neutral point. i.e. if you tried to cancel it yourself, say on a motorway after changing lane, the indicator would indicate right then left then right. Only had the car for a weekend but never again. I've been told they've fixed that problem on newer models.

    No problem with the Z.

Perhaps the wheel isn’t in it’s ideal position for you? A slight change in height could make all the difference.

  5. I do enjoy it.

It seems to drive on pure torque for the first 30 seconds. I start it up. Pull out of my space. Then take my foot of the clutch and gas and let her drive herself up the hill out of the undergroud.

On startup it revs to 1900 for a few seconds then drops to 1750. Sits for a short time before making its way down to about 800.

  6. Unbelievable thread.

There is definitely a 12year or longer anti corrosion warranty. This would include any paint work the dealer had done to the car.

I cant believe dealers get away with stuff like this. When I serviced my first Z at my second dealer (issues with the first) they said it’d cost about €150 but could be more if the spark plugs need changing. At this point I started laughing as I knew the plugs wouldn’t need changing for a very very very long time. So how much I said. He told me each plug was a hundred and something. That was a funny day.

  7. Ive had mine only a couple of weeks, I find the side mirrors abit on the small side, and I dont own any tape cassettes :band:

I kangaroo it a few times pulling off, and gear selection took a few days to master. I like how I have a spare wheel instead of the can of wheel fixing stuff you normally get. I dont think the bose stands upto its name. Ive managed to get 20.5mpg on a journy thats 17 miles and is mainly towns, villages. Seats are great, especially when u have the heat button on full, although at first felt like I wet myself. Rear window takes a while to demist. I dont like the lag when you switch the heater controls from window to front to below, seems to have a think before it does it. Cant see the point of being able to change the rev light. Love the folding of the roof. ESP switch is a pain to turn on and off, keep pressing other buttons, think the one next to it is the washer for the lights. I thought the jets on my wipers where bust and was moaning at the GF, then discovered they are on the wipers, which I thought was a good idea.....

Strut across the engine looks good, made me feel abit max power. Not keen on the wheels, although have seen some wicked ones on the net. errrrrm wish it was in white with white leather, thats about it for now

I keep my phone in the cassette player. :teeth:

I also hate the wheels that come with UK cars. Always thought they looked cheap. We get the GT4 wheels as stock.

  8. do you still get "screenburn" with plasmas.. or is that a thing of the past? i have a sharp 37" aquios hd lcd screen - had it for about a year and a half and i cant complain!

I have an Aquos as well. I keep that one in the living room for regular tv. It's about 26" so it doesn't dominate the room. I keep the big Sony in the games room so I can ignore other people and watch movies in a room that is better shaped for sound then a living room would be. i.e. Tv is centred on the wall with speakers positioned round the room and couch centred by opposite wall.

  9. Imagine driving down a runway. You really don't feel the speed you are doing.

Brand new wide open dual carriageway. No other traffic. No trees on the verge just grass fields. Just picked it up. Gave it a little bit of welly and then cruised along oblivious of the speed. My old Z didn't go like that nor did it sound as good.

I suppose that's how a GT car should go. Fast, comfortable and controlled. My one pet hate of the Z is that it hates going slow in the city. It prefers to sit on the higher side of 50kph.

  10. The day I picked up my second Z I found myself doing 220kph on the way home without realising it. Was just changing into 6th when I glanced at the speedo. Needless to say I cursed myself for not paying attention. Thanked all the gods I could think of that I hadn't been caught and cruised home at a more acceptable speed. I suppose had of been on a single carriageway and not a big wide open new dueller I of noticed a lot sooner. I used the cruise control that day for the first and last time.

  11. I only watch blueray movies using the PS3 and hdmi cable. I'll never buy a DVD again. The picture quality different is incredible. The only other tv I watch on it is stuff I've downloaded from the states. The PS3 seems to automatically upscale it as the quality is far better than my laptop and better than standard tv from sky.
