  1. To be honest, opinions have been mixed on my latest mod, but I like it, and that's the main thing.
  2. Picked her back up today. All is well! I was beaming when I caught sight of her gleaming in the car park. It's like Christmas again The guys at Harratts Nissan Wakefield have done a great job (again). I want to go for drive now but I'm chained to my desk!
  3. So, I'm Z-less again They are keeping her for what they think will be a week or so to fix the problem. When I called for an update the Tech was speaking to Nissan Technical about it. New box? Dunno yet. 1.2l Micra "Actives" are a danager to public roads More body roll than Bubbles Devere and a very surprising tendancy to over-steer. That said it's a better courtesy car than both the Punto and Yaris which I've also enjoyed in the past 12 months. Still, they managed to fix my road noise problem with the driver's window dropping a few mm intermittantly (which is (was) annyoing)
  4. Which is where I got "the yellow peril" from Give us ball-park for rates (based on how much you charged for the last Z for example) and I might be intertested (funds permitting!) when you journey to where it's grim.
  5. Signed The government have got this the wrong way round IMO. Rather penalise the drivers and force them off the road with (more) enormous tax bills, public transport infrastructure should be improved to such a degree that people *want* to travel by this method. ATM, public transport simply sucks (generally). There is no way I could go about my day job (Area Sales Manager) without my car. I have heard Ministers in the past saying that these tracking devices would *not* be used to monitor speeds. What they say and what they do is often not the same thing though...........................
  6. I still don't know where you are based mate Quick question: Do you take the wheels off to clean them properly? EDIT: Also, do you have one of those fancy machines that measures paint "depth"?
  7. Fair point. It would be a good idea to have some examples though. If I were searching for a detailer and came across your site, it would switch me off, not have any reference to price. Others do, so as a consumer, that makes my life easier. Also, I do not want to be rining you 21:00 on your mobile asking for prices if time is limited during the day (due to work for instance). It is important to know where you are based. Again, I don't want to be calling you up to find out you're in Southampton and driving to Leeds to clean my car will take more time in travel than it will to do the job. Although this is in no way related your own operation, in my own personal experience, professional car cleaning companies tend to do the easier bits well (i.e. clean the body-work) and miss out on the detailing inside the cab. Those hard to reach places between switches etc. can only really be got at with those detailing stick things, which is why in the past I've paid (over the odds) to have my car cleaned. Usually not noticed at the time of handing over the cash, which is a bit annoying. Attention to detail is what I would want from a professional car cleaning company, which has been lacking from others in the past (which means no repeat business). I am not suggesting for one minute that you guys are the same, just relaying my experiences. Again, good luck with the business. Anyone with the nuts to go it alone deserves props
  8. Looks good. You are missing some vital information on your web-site though. Location, price, and products to name a few. Good luck with the venture, hope it does well for you.
  9. Excellent, thanks for the heads up guys I'll book her in for a check up first thing Tuesday. Cheers!
  10. Hoping for some advice on this When upshifting from 4th to 6th at around 4k RPM, the gear change "crunches". If I let the revs drop, it does not happen. Keep the revs around 4k though, and it makes this awful noise, every time. I have not noticed it when shifting between any other gears. Phoned Nissan today but no-one in service until Tuesday Anyone know what this might be?
  11. I've had this combo for about 4 weeks and it's working great, no worries. Voice dialling works fine for me. All the voice dial functions/memory are held by the car, so if you have used your BT adapter with another phone and want to use the same stored names with your new one, that will work. The K800i by default switches off BT when it disconnects from the Z, which helps battery life as I always used to forget before. I got the Z hooked up to my Nokia work mobi and my personal Sony (can only use one at once though). True about the road noise and I've had some complaints of "feedback" also (phone near a speaker maybe).
  12. "Sorry, you have reached your maximum Upload Quota Limit of 2 MB" Pics later maybe. She is in great shape and what a monster to drive I've got a set of new treads on the rear (Bridgestone as factory) ready for the Winter proper. Getting used to driving her all over again and enjoying every minute!
  13. 8 or so weeks later, a bill to me of £1k, one to Admiral of £11k, and my Z is back in the game My word, it's quick. Lots faster than a 1.2 Punto that's for sure. Pics to follow So glad to have her back!
  14. http://www.allcarwallpapers.com/nissan/ ... papers.htm Have a poke about; some nice pics for your desktop
  15. First one I've ever seen for real that is not mine Spotted the nice Nismo kit as it flashed by Leeds bound on A64 yesterday. Too cool Hopefully get mine back this weekend. *Cheering and Celebrations*
  16. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_s ... 035879.stm A hero. RIP.
  17. Quick update. Not a "write off" thankfully. Estimate stands at £11k to fix. All being well, she will be up and running again in 3 to 4 weeks time. So looking forward to having her back!
  18. I'm feeling for you dude. These jealous scum deserve to die I had my Celica keyed and Megan Coupe before that, so I know your anger. Once it's fixed it will all be just a memory. Until then, good luck!
  19. Shocked. Let's just hope he comes out ok.
  20. You might benefit from the sign/poster I attached to my "nightmare" thread.......
  21. Holy sh1t mate, it's Z killing season. I feel your anguish! I've been out to a meeting this afternoon and the guy I saw had an '06 Z. I was just standing, looking at it, admiring it's presence, wishing I had mine back. It's true you know; you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone. Good luck with the repairs, hope she gets fixed up soon.
  22. Genuinely, I really do appreciate all your words of support. Thank you to everyone who has taken time to post thus far. Latest is, it's 95% sure to be repairable. It's a high(ish) value vehicle and limited edition to boot, so the repair shop is keen to revive her. I must say, I'm pleased to hear that. Today I collected a short term hire car ('06 Vectra SRI). I am also pleased to say, within only a few minutes being behind the wheel, I had not lost the *spirit* to drive Having been so close to something so terrible, some people I'm sure would have lost the pleasure and confidence to drive. Not me Having spent the afternoon is said "repmobile", I decided it necessary to create some signage for the world to read. By way of payback for your kind words, I attach this notice for anyone, either present or in the future, who should require this important document. Place in the rear window (or every window if you so wish) of your loan/hire/courtesy car, to ensure the general public are properly educated.
  23. Cancel the flame suit order. You are talking sence, and I agree with your sentiment.
  24. Yup. 5mm on fronts, 3mm on rears (P2 service last week).
