Have you ground the unit? You will need to plug the loom into the car loom hands free bit (there should be 3 white plugs) and the loom into the head unit remote control connector
-
There was some talk that it 'may' work but the buttons on the steering wheel won't so not sure how it would work.
I am not aware of anyone with a aftermarket head unit who has retained the built-in bluetooth.
-
Pure guess but have you connected up the hand brake sensor. If not best wiring it to ground which will allow you to watch video anytime
-
Try it without. I found mine worked fine without a ground wire, but only found that out after I'd dicked about soldering ground wires in!
Its best not to run the unit like this. It will be getting a ground signal via the RCA sheild as its ground but this means the unit will be pulling voltage across the RCAs which is not great for keeping as clean signal.

How decent is decent? Do you like quality, volume, bassy or all of the above. Also whats your budget.
-
Front pre-out
Rear pre-out
Those are the ones you want to be connecting up to.

The bose amp is located under some foam in the boot which is a bit fo a mare to get to. There is also a 2nd sub amp which is located in the sub box. Do you have a sub behind the driver? If not have a look behind the panel and you should seee on the back of the metal sub surround a black box..if you have one that is.
You may find the car never had BOSE and then you can just use the looms that are there.
As for bluetooth - the Nissan unit does not really work with any aftermarket head units, only the factory ones
-
The red and white RCAs go into the head unit in the front and rear outputs

Great write up. Used it to tighten up my belts to stop the squeaking

How many actual laps / minutes did you get in each car?

http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-a ... etype=type
There are series 3-7 in LCD and 7-9 in LCD with LED baclight i.e. series 7 could be either. Currently series 8 is only LED backlight
-
Yes 7/8 will both be good enough for you. Above the series 6 its just then small features to try and make the picture that little bit better. The jump to LED backlight being one major change
-
I know samsung sorta kicked off the whole led tvs but I remember reading somwhere that the samsung ones are not full led on the screen whereas some other makes are, not really up to spec on tellys but it's something you might want to look at.
Sammy are just scamming the market with the whole LED TV - er its an LCD. Since when did they sell LCD TVs as "CCFL TV"
The fact is they are trying to pass some time as the next phase of TVs has not come round as quick as they hoped. There are no real LED TVs around at the moment - the OLED are still in prototype/promo versions at the mo.

Pretty sure ICT only cater for the major brands not the chinese budget ones so you may well struggle to get steering controls unless it emulates one of the major brands

But remember with iPhone coming to T and Voda, dont be suprised if they hit back at non-iPhone tarriff users who have iPhones on their networks, I can assure you they keep a very close eye on these things.
Think its Voda and Orange not T. Wonder when Orange will announce - can't leave it too much longer if they don't want to miss out on the christmas buyer

Glad it helped

you 2 are both right and wrong.....its not the firmware that is a problem but its when the firmware upgrades the modems firmware...apple have done a couple of things to block jailbreaking/unlocking but the cycle will never end...there will always be a way
What have I said that doesn't agree with this?
-
I suppose it doesn't matter how new the phone is, just a matter of the FW, so even if you got the latest phone with the latest FW, you could easily revert the FW to an older one that has been already broken, right?
Fraid not - the loophole that all the jailbreaking software use has been closed by Apple in the latest phones. While you can also put the old OS level on its much much harder to put the old phone firmware - virtually impossible in some combiations and its that which is important when unlocking rather than the OS level
-
When a new FW comes out, you'll just have to wait a couple of weeks and the Dev Team have a new Restore FW ready and usually a QuickPwn to go with it...
It sounds simple but very easy for a non-tech savy to install an apple firmware which updates the phone firmware and then your screwed as the latest one I doubt will be cracked for a while.
Also don't buy a new iPhone - impossible to unlock and will probably be quite some time to break. Took them a good while to find the last loophole and have been using it for a few years now.
-
Can you clarify if this is factory unlocked or using a software unlock?
NB For the noobs if its a software unlock then you have to be VERY careful when updating it and not use Apple updates on it.
-
Will it work with the factory bluetooth / steering wheel controls - Yes
Hmm - I've never seen an aftermarket unit yet fitted which retains the bluetooth / steering phone controls. I have heard it sort of can be hacked together but normally its once you get an aftermarket you loose the built in bluetooth.
-
Was it a full strip job i.e. shuts & engine bay?
Looks like a good job from the photos.
-
Sorry to hear you have have been stung.
I think we do have to be REALLY careful in the future about supporting new companies - Yes I think we should try and support new companies, specially when its existing club memebers but if they are totally unknown we really have to be careful.
Hope you all the best in the future and hope the new company is a success. (And hope Jamie/Barrie rots in prision)

Oh well, too late as I'd already order the relay thingy off Fleabay.
Thanks for the tip Mac, I do indeed need the newer ICT29-020 instead of the 007. Only trouble is Sextons don't seem to list it, so I'm trying to track one down!
Ping an email to sales@sextonsdirect.co.uk and they will be able to get it for you. It may well appear on thier site very soon.

You will need to connect both i.e. Nissan Loom -> ICT Loom -> Kenwood Head Unit Remote Input
