  1. We have engineered wood floor in our kitchen and hallway. Its lovely stuff and great for high traffic areas as its hard wearing and easy to keep clean. The stuff we've got you can relay, but it has to be backed out from one side to another (can be done from either side), but you cant do it from the middle. Personally I wouldnt have it in the living room as it can be cold and gives off a lot of echo. Not ideal given the money it looks like you may be spending on AV equipment. Anything other than a budget system will be degraded by having wood floors unless you have rugs covering most of it, in which case - whats the point? Carpet on the other hand can easily be lifted to run cables, is warmer and reduces echos a lot. Oh and speaker stands normally come with little rubber covers for spikey feet for hard floors
  2. And the Vette wont like the fact that many of our roads are broken up and not super smooth like they have over in the US. Looks very cool though
  3. Scew the mounts to the floor? As the others have said, AV stands arent known for their child friendliness, they can topple over easily, especially with not so light speakers on them. Will you be decorating when you move in? Will be easier and neater to chase the cable into the wall while you are doing that (when its a mess anyway), worth the effort in the long run. I know the battle you will be having, I had the same with my missus. But after chasing our rear speaker cables into the wall, she decided it was so neat that we should do the front ones too!
  4. I'd make her walk to work or get a bike/bus/train
  5. Did you tell Scorpion that it wasnt straight? Sorry if this has been gone over before but being made in Derbyshire, I wouldnt be supprised if they would go out of their way to sort it out. I once lost the removable baffle for my bike exhaust and they just sent me over a new one very quickly at a reduced rate. Still something to be said for "made in the UK" With the JapSpeed it depends how well they've copied the HKS, or even how well they've copied the copy of the HKS I get the feeling most of these exhausts probably come out of the same factory and all the copies are the same just rebranded.
  6. Yup Its hard to achieve with lenses that are small and with sensors that are small, which is why you see it a lot more on SLRs than any other cameras. They are getting better at tricking smaller sensor cameras into doing it, but it will never look as "right" as with a full frame SLR.
  7. Didnt think you could measure bokeh? Isnt bokeh the quality of the blurred areas? If so how do you measure it and have more? Yes, bokeh is the blurry background. A low f number will give you some bokeh and a larger sensor. Also bokeh changes lens to lens. A nifty fifty gives you decent bokeh but a sigma 50 f1.4 gives you some amazing bokeh Lense/sensor/aperture combo will give you different depths of field, so more or less or the background can be in focus or not, but bokeh is the quality or feel of that blurred area, not the amount of blurred area. Some combo's give aesthetically pleasing bokeh, some not so. But AFAIK you cant have more or less of it, it just is what it is. You cant mathematically quantify it nor easily design it into a lense. Or get "good bokeh" using a certain focal length/aperture/sensor size combo

  9. Yes got an external hard drive, getting a bit of a dear do this camera lark!! Slippy slope, just like cars, next it will be more lenses, filters(?), flash, other accessories
  10. Thats the problem these days - the customer service team are so far removed from any kind of real "do-er" (coder, designer, etc) of the systems that they dont even know where to start asking the questions, let alone get answers. Far easier for them to just say "computer is right" and hang up on you That does sound very odd, epescially as the only different digit is the last one and its only one higher than the previous line. However I guess (and I havent done stats/probabilities for a long time) the actual probability of both numbers coming up is the same (they are both just a randomly generated number and just as likely to come up as each other or any other number combination), but having them one after the other is a very very long shot. OK so thats not quite true if you know how computers and random number generators really work, but when they designed the random number generator they wont have coded it as just doing +1
  11. As Dan says, same company - just check the registered address for them Get Admiral to price match Elephant, I've done it in the past. Keeps the same policy number that way which makes things easier to manage if the worst happens and you need to claim.
  12. Hopefully Lexx has covered all the points you wanted covering Phil. Long and short is the Zed block is strong but the internals tend not to handle the torque associated with power much past 400HP. To get to 360HP then you'd be looking at going forced induction and as you are looking to spend the cost of the car a couple times over in modding then this is well within your reach. You should also be able to get a good project car for about £6k I would say. And yes its a shame that threads can sometime be derailed with the same arguments day in day out around here. As with any busy forum
  13. Wall mount and chase the cables into the wall so they are all hidden, and put the speakers high enough they cant be reached.
  14. Mmmm nice and warm then Was that shot using your new gadget Mr AK? Oh and ninja edit with Vimeo tags!
  15. Another vote for Tom and the chaps at TGM. If its anything out of the ordinary or a little bit more Zed specific then Abbey Motorsport are worth a longer trip.
  16. Snow gone for this year now
  17. Thanks Chris! That is a pic of the S17+ polish that had been worked on the bonnet but not buffed off yet. Was going to say that was shocking if the paint was like that when clean
  18. If you want a real experience do a Palmersport day. Waaaay more expensive, but they actively encourage you to thrash it. I was really pi**ed off with my experience at Thruxton not because they wouldnt let me thrash it, but because the only car I wanted to hear open up they wouldnt let me. The Cayman was first and the young lad I had as instructor was encouraging me to overtake Fezzas and Porkers as we were going quicker and was impressed with my heel/toe. Instructor for the Aston V8 was some old fart who didnt want me to go over 3k revs. Didnt listen to him obviously as the Aston only sings above 4k Single seater at the end the chap told me to cain it again I just wouldnt listen to when they say to change gear and you'll have fun, just expect them to bark in your ear all the way around. Pointing out you drive a 300HP RWD car will also help instill a bit of confidence in them
  19. Good work as ever sir Was this shot taken before you did anything? Not sure why a brand new car would have buffer trails?
  20. guess you had one of those xfps things or one of the many copies or did you go for the XIM solution ? None, just too used to playing Counter Strike on the PC. Joypad feels so unnatural compared to a keyboard and mouse!
  21. Ruddish, I thought they'd sorted that out these days by running the games through CoD servers rather than XB Live. Good job I got the XB one then as Amanda nearly got me the PS3 version.
  22. So who's playing MW3 online? Now I've gotten it for Xmas and had some time to play for a bit, I'm starting to venture online and get involved with a few mates for some shoot-em-up fun. I've started a ZUK clan on https://elite.callofduty.com/ but havent got a clue how anyone else can join it yet I assume you can play across PS3 and Xbox also?
