  1. gutted mate - sad pics too... good luck sorting it out..
  2. Having read a lot of suggestions and had some feedback on the forum, I'm booked in to get Paintshield to protect the new car for me. I'm getting the standard pack done and thanks to the forum I get a nice 10% discount too. Won't have far to travel either - getting it done at a dealer in Reading. I hardly ever do any motorway driving and live real close to work, but I'll feel much happier with the protection on the front. I'll update the thread tomorrow and let you all know how I got on. Jim
  3. If you can afford it, go 06. thats what I did and don't regret it. IMO the interior is much nicer... better looking dials and buttons.. and I like the front grill on the 06 more too
  4. Polish !?? haven't bothered yet... it's only a week and a half old... i think i'm supposed to lay off the polish for a couple of weeks..
  5. yup - it's not a problem really, just something I wasnt aware of when I bought it... maybe we should set up a new thread just for those little niggles that we find out we need to live with ony AFTER we've bought the car !
  6. HA yeah I had this this morning too... managed to avoid the rain from the boit lid - only to have it splash on me from the door !!! i dunno..... the things we put up with !
  7. me too - i dont like the sound of this. surely it means the lane closes anyway if there is a breakdown... and i'd hate to be sat on the hard shoulder on a bend, waiting the the nexty car to come around the corner at '70' ....
  8. hmmm. send you pictures of me in wet trousers... you'll be lucky Mike ! ..although 50 quid will do it..
  9. no, it beeped continuously as soon as i put it in reverse, as if i was up against a wall already.. it's fine now though, and someone i work with said that their's does this when it's washed... i did wonder if he was pulling my leg... !
  10. I dunno... you spend 30K on a car, it rains heavily all night, you go out to your car in the morning, put your laptop bag in the boot and close it shut only to have a load of water spray down your trousers. I wouldn't have minded, only it looked like I'd had a 'little accident'.. again. Shall I take the car back and demand a full refund? Jim
  11. As I've never had rear parkiing sensors on a car berfore (or on any transportation for that matter, including mountain bikes, space hoppers etc.) I was suprised that mine 'failed' for a while after I'd washed the car. However, I guess this must be completely normal, until they dry properly. I assume they'll also start to fail if I was to ever let the back get a bit dirty. So - will there be another other times that I'll need to watch out for this? i.e. when it's frosty / icey ? Jim
  12. hmmm.. interesting.. can't decide if i like it or not..! yeah, some pics would be great later - cheers !
  13. crikey - how much do you expect this will go for? glad I had mine fitted before I picked it up... wouldn't have fancied doing it myself.. Jim
  14. Welcome Ruben, I picked up my brand spanking new GT Coupe Gunmetal on 1st Sept and have been loving it ever since. I waited 3 months for mine, and the guys here helped keep me reasonably sane during the long wait.. But yes, it's worth it... although I keep getting requests for me to take people out for a spin in it.. took another two out from work today! great choice on colour too... it's looks fab... I didn't bother with the sat nav as I'd never use it, saved a packet and am going to get the car Paintshielded ASAP.. (hopefully this week). Do you have an estimated deleivery date yet? Jim
  15. sounds good.. any pics? or link to something we can see?
  16. one tip though - when recording the phone no's don't try to say the whole number at once... say the 1st 6 numbers, it'll be repeated back to you, then say the remaining numbers... it's not that clear in the manual... but it took me ages to figure it out and i was always cut off when i got the 8/9th number !
