OK, so I'm having to wait till the middle of August for my Z now.. but in the meantime, can anyone give me some advice on Insurance? I got a few quotes last month that came in just under £600 (Sainsburys Bank). I'm 31, am going to put my good lady wife on the insurance too.. it's on a drive etc.. but I'm keen to see what you guys think about the various insurance companies. I guess most will offer a standard fit replacement policy on any damage etc.. but I'm getting the GT pack and so I'm assuming I would need to make this clear to the insurer? I've read a few threads about levels of service etc from insurance companies and (never having made a claim) I'm concerned about just going for the cheapest quote? How about moving away from 'high street' insurers and finding a sports car specialist? Any handy tips / advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Jim

Sadly it looks like I'll have a wait a bit longer for my Z. I order it on the 1st June and estimated delivery is now back to mid August. Still, I may as well hang on for the new Reg... Anyone else having to wait around? Jim

didnt sleep a wink last night! yeah - i pushed really hard on the price - but then, even 'What Cars' target price is the same as RRP.. so i could even use that! anyway £650+ worth of extras is fine by me.. i went for the standard charcoal leather interior.. i'm not sure the orange leather goes well with any colour other than the orange exterior and maybe black.. but thats personal preference !

YES ! RESULT !! I ordered my 350Z this afternoon at my local Nissan dealership!! Thanks to everyones advice and helpful tips / hints, I think I got a pretty good deal.. I've gone for the GT Coupe in Gun Metal. The dealership simply would not budge on the price AT ALL - so I made sure I got ALL the extras I wanted thrown in for nothing. Took a bit of bargaining, but it got me: rear parking sensors, entry guards, tonneau cover, valve caps, mats and a tank of fuel all thrown in! Well chuffed with that.. Current estimate for delivery is 25th July.. only 7 weeks to wait.. fingers crossed.. !! Jim

nope - i'm not going to MOD the seats or stereo - so i'll probably go with the GT pack.. BTW - how much are the stubby aerials, and are they easy to fit? cheers for the advice ! J

So - in only a few hours time, I'll be off to order my first 350Z! I'm planning to get the GT in Gun Metal... ..but out of interest, in your opinion... if you were buying a new one today.. would you get the standard, or the GT edition? Is it worth it? Jim

Hi all ! (me again - sorry).. I'm going to order a new GT from my local dealership tomorrow ('Dan Perkins'). I've noticed that most of their cars have their name on the bodywork at the rear. This may be a silly question, but can I ask NOT to have this?? I don't really fancy having that on the back of my nice shiney new 350z. ! I dont mind the name on the registration plate or a sticker, but not on the paint-work! Thanks all, Jim

yes please, pics would be REALLY helpful.. Thanks. and thats on an 06 yeah? thing is, i'll never use the sat nav.. it just looks nice ! so as long as the cover looks good too, then I'll consider tom tom in the future instead.

thanks guys - i'll keep that in mind.. the dealer says theu can't budge on price of new cars, but i'll give it a go.. also - yeah I'll think about sat nav... a couple of people have recommded tom tom if anything.. i was just worried about what the empty space would look like.

Hi all, Can anyone help me out with a small question? I'm looking to buy a new 06 model (GT) and love the look of the Sat Nav display on the console. However, it's another £1200 and I probably wont use it much. SO - what happens if you dont have sat nav as an option? What the does blank space look like? Does it get a cover (like the previous model) or is it open? I'm hoping it looks as good without Sat nat but I have a feeling it may look a bit pants.. Can any help or point me to some pictures? (or possibly the correct place in the forum !) Thanks all.. Jim

Hello everyone, I'm in the process of buying a 350Z and having looked through the forum thought I'd better sign up! I'm hoping to buy (ordering) a new GT Coupe in Gun Metal in the next few days and am considering Sat Nav and rear parking sensors as extras. - Does anyone have any tips on buying new? Such as, am I likely to pay RRP or is it worth trying to negotiate on price? - How about the extras, are these costs set in stone? - Does anyone have any recommendations?
