  1. So, I stopping being lazy and and discovered that as of yesterday, there's an update available online Lots more cars, 2 player mode, an extra track and various other bits and pieces. http://www.gran-turismo.com/en/gt5p/news/d2024.html Happy downloading!
  2. So thats a no to the 2 player split screen... My girlfriends not going to be happy then
  3. Hmmm was looking at this today in the shop and was as confused as Sarnie as to the prologue thing. Thats cleared that up then... One thing though before I rush out and get it, can you have a 2 player split screen game?? I saw on the box it said 1 player but I thought I'd seen a screen shot somewhere with 2 players
  4. Ah yes... now I remember! Took advantage of the weather last weekend for a trip round Zurich lake and a quick blast up the side of a hill/mountain. And the sun's shining again today!!!!
  5. Soooo... let the fight begin Got the car back complete with not a new rear axle, but whatever holds the axle to the car. Vibration still there. Garage tells me it's better, but still there. Yeah right.... its not changed at all. Garage then tells me Nissan is aware of this problem in the 2005 model and has sorted it in the 2006 but don't have a fix for whatever is causing it in the 2005. Can you believe that crap??? Anyway, I'll be speaking to them on Monday and then it looks like i'll be using the legal cover part of my insurance for the first time...... Not a happy cookie!
  6. Ahhhh the good old clutch release bearing... had 4 of em replaced now. Along with a brand new clutch assembly from the pedal to whatever comes last in the clutch setup.... As I said before, nothing that goes wrong with this car is normal. Nissan Switzerland actually said that the problem I had with the clutch pedal getting stuck half way up when released, and I quote.... 'wasn't possible' They eventually stopped just replacing the bearing, did the whole lot and the clutch feels fantastic now. Just need to get the vibration sorted....
  7. Not a bad guess That's what they thought originally so I'm guessing they checked that. No, there's no vibration when accelerating. I was kind of hoping someone would say 'oh yes, common problem, get this changed'. It seems though anything that goes wrong with this car is not normal!
  8. Anyone one had this problem before? If I accelerate to over 4000 revs and take my foot off, I quite often feel vibration in the car somewhere between 3000 - 3500 revs whilst slowing down. Its especially noticable through the gear stick. The cars actually in the garage at the moment where they are attempting to fix it as they've acknowleged that something is wrong. The only thing is, they've decided it's the rear axel and are currently swapping it out I'm not convinced though and would have put money on it being the gearbox which is why I thought I'd ask if anyone's had anything similar. Cheers!
  9. 1.2 miles long?? Thats not a tunnel! Next meet - Gotthard tunnel, Switzerland. 10.5 miles long! Drove through it a couple of weeks ago. Fun, fun, fun
  10. Can't help on the upgrades, but the noisey clutch sounds normal. Mine has been rattling away since new, even after 3 (yes 3!) release bearing replacements.
  11. +1 - I seem to get this a lot atm. Also does it happen after you wash the car? This is the same thing if the pads rust to the disc slightly Always run the car up and down the drive with the brakes on to get rid of some of the excess water after washing it before putting the car back to bed in the garage with tha handbrake off and in gear I have started recently to leave the car butted up against our paving stones at the front of the drive (drive slopes towards them) and with the car in gear Does the rusting do anything dodgy? I find it happens when it rains as well. Not too comfortable leaving the car off the handbrake and in gear all the time incase the missus tries to fire her up and launches into the house I always leave mine in gear. Even more so after my last car, a Hyundai Coupe after a test drive by the dealer who didn't put it in gear, rolled off down the road because the handbrake failed!
  12. That reminds me... I was down in south Switz a couple of weeks ago and visited the Verzasca dam where you can do a 220m bungee. (They filmed the opening of Goldeneye there) Right next to the jump tower was a memorial, candles, wreath etc to some poor sod who'd either just jumped minus bungee or got his weight wrong! Certainly made you think twice about bungee'ing! (not that I would have anyway... )
  13. Bodies.... suitcases.... here's a much better use for your boot space!

    There you go: http://www.volkner-mobil.de/Home/english/home_en.html
  16. Fooking hell! Do a Hamilton, move to Switzerland.... 78p a litre here.
  17. I had an ABS sensor replaced under warranty. I cooked it coming down a mountain pass in Austria (best drive ever so far!) What problem are you having? When the sensor went, the car decided to turn off ABS and ESP leaving me with lots of warning lights on.
  18. Wow.... and there was me yesterday moaning about Swiss road tax. They base it on engine size, but at £270 I think I'll have to find something else to moan about. And that won't be the price of petrol... 79p / litre at the moment...
  19. Mate, I managed to break my spine in 3 places a couple of years ago and since then have become a big fan of you only live once so make the most of it. If it's financially viable and it's something you really want, my view is do it. My life is pretty much a f'ing huge rollercoaster ride at the moment but I'm damn sure I'm going to enjoy it as best I can! (Says he slightly drunk with a broken finger, serious backache and one hell of a hangover after a fantastic birthday party yesterday!!) Life..... bring it on!
  20. Anybody taken a wing mirror apart? Mine has developed a 'whistle' and I'm pretty sure something dropped out of the bottom of it just before it started. Looked like a piece of foam/rubber or something about 5-6 cms long. My guess is that it was some kind of insulation or something but the dealer I spoke to today said he didn't know of anything like that in the mirror..... Any ideas? Cheers Mark

    MY07 Night Blue

This the one? Have to excuse the photo, it was taken at the Geneva motor show where they had one.... 10ft up on a bloody wall!!!
  22. Novidem are the Swiss company. They offer 2 kits, one at 380PS the other at 450 Not something I'm really considering though, nowhere to put it to use in Switzerland. Astra guy did say he thought the Z was a great looking car. Not a compliment I could return but I was impressed at the power.
  23. when you get beaten by an Astra on the autobahn I was having a nice easy drive at 150 mph or so when this Astra pulled onto the autobahn in the distance. I moved into the fast lane to overtake him and boy did I get a surprise! We ended up side by side with the speedo showing 265kph/165mph (how the hell is that possible I thought the Z was limited to 155???) and then he started pulling away from me We came off the autobahn together and had a bit of a play on a dual carriage way accelerating from the lights (all within the speed limits). I won the first round then lost the second because I got too much wheel spin in 2nd. Had a chat at the lights and his Astra was a 2.0 turbo, chipped with various other bits and pieces and was putting out over 300bhp!! Soooo anyway.... where can I get me one of these bi-turbo thingys??
  24. I'm currently having, shall we say 'discussions' with Nissan Switzerland about this. My clutch occassionally gets stuck about half way up when the car is hot. By hot I mean either I've been giving it some or it's also happened stuck in a traffic jam in 30 degrees heat. I'm getting to the stage now where I might have to involve a solicitor as they've started saying I might have to pay for part of the work/parts. It's been like this since day 1 so I'm not having any of it. The fact that 4 attempts and 20,000 kms later they still haven't fixed it is not my fault. I'll let you know how I get on.
