  1. +1 for them too - great guys who work around the corner from where I live - i'd expect a high standard of work from these guys!
  2. I do a fair bit when i get time - usually do this in Reading (Copthorne hotel), but also the Cable Ski places at Thorpe and Swindon - bloody cold doing it in the winter though - i'm more a fair weather boarder Really enjoy it myself - a nice way to keep the muscles working before the snow season starts!
  3. Saw a lovely yellow GT4 on Saturday (26th) - parked opposite you - gone when i came back
  4. Looks superb! Great idea about the tape around the seals - always getting wax caught in there and takes me forever to toothpick it all out again! Anyone know what tape is best used for the car there?
  5. Having some issues with the new iPhone 3GS and connecting it to the Alpine BT400 Bluetooth adapter. It just won't pair with the device at all now. I'm not sure if its since the 3.0 software was updated on the iPhone or if its the new phone (my old iphone worked but didnt test with version 3.0 software) Anyone else having issues with this?
  6. Nice one mate looks good! I found them to be very good too
  7. hmm sounds a bit odd that mate - i did have a line driver added to help boost things a little (http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/ict/p~23-007.html?cat=0) - but nothing more than that - the sound is great - i just got my bass set to +2 and its all good - what year is your Z? Its a GT? Might be a different BOSE unit in there?
  8. This is the pre-06 facia you'll need http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/ict/p~50-256.html?cat=0
  9. Rob - yeah its a little complex - had to check the manual for a few things but I'm sure after a couple of uses it'll be fine. I think they had to file down parts of the facia to make it sit snugly in (behind rather than front) - didn't give me a whole load of detail about it and i was too excited to grill them further
  10. Thanks bud The fascia was this one: http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/facia_pa ... 0-306.html
  11. Just come back from the fitters and they've done a grand job - cost a little more than i was expecting - seems they had to do a bit of facia modding to get a snug fit - the headunit sounds great - works nicely with the ipod and iphone. Great clear sound too with a good volume - overall very impressed! Here's some pics of the results:
  12. Damn i can't make this tomorrow but i will defo get down to the next one - I'm a virgin to meets so please break me in gently
  13. Great job there mate - really like the way the subs fits like a glove under the rear strut (golf clubs still fit too - result!).
  14. I ordered this fella: http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/facia_pa ... 0-306.html
  15. Hey mate - its all ordered - i'm having it fitted next week - not going to attempt this myself - there's an audio place just down the road from me here doing it for £75 (more than happy to pay that for a pro job). I've ordered the fascia so it should be a snug fit - i'm a bit of a perfectionist so if its not perfect i won't be happy Soon as its done i'll post up some pics - i've ordered the bluetooth adapter too so will report on the quality... Can't wait!
  16. Ok i've done a bit more research on this - thought i'd post my findings for anyone else if they needed to know. The steering wheel answer controls cannot be used, also the mic needs replacing (although this comes with the BT400 kit). Calls are then answered on the touch screen display of the alpine - i'm told by a few installers quality is excellent Looks like my first new purchase is ready to go
  17. Ok I got you - you mean one of the these: http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/alpine/p ... html?cat=0 Once installed with the W404R would this allow me to answer calls via the steering wheel? Thx bud!
  18. Looking at the options seems they do a bluetooth adapter for this (although reports are its not that good - can anyone confirm this? echo problems im reading) - would this be controlled through the steering wheel the same way as it current works?
  19. Ahh really ?! damn - is there a solution for this? - i'd use the iphone/bluetooth quite a bit - not sure i could lose that
  20. Another question - will the bluetooth adapter still work ok with this? (ie: cuts out the audio from the alpine)
  21. So looks like i need: http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/facia_pa ... 0-306.html http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/steering ... 9-674.html http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/ict/p~23-007.html?cat=0 http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product ... -24056.htm Great post Rob - really useful thanks bud!
  22. Excellent thanks for the answers there Rob Seems like this is going to be the one to get
  23. Hey - i've been looking at this one myself (looks great!) - got a couple of questions if anyone can help - sorry if its been answered elsewhere 1. Seems i will be able to control this via the steering controls with the correct lead installed? 2. Seems i need the correct double din facia adapter for this? Are these easy to source? 3. I assume this can connect straight into the BOSE system? Any issues with this? 4. I'm guessing the best place for the ipod is in the arm rest cubby? Cheers James
  24. i didn't take the wheels - so new pics coming up So you got any plans for the Zed ? I'm probably looking to install something to replace the standard audio unit - quite fancy getting a MP3 Player setup - looking at some of the guides on here there's some nice options.... ...but to be honest Keith already had it setup pretty sweetly - just gonna enjoy her for a bit - its an absolute joy to drive - feel like a kid everytime I sit and turn the ignition! My first purchase was a ton of cleaning products - Christ that wasn't cheap - but got to keep her up to standard
