    Heating

What with the cold weather coming and the early morning fog, I was double checking the heating and demisting in the Zed. All seemed ok, except: 1. Climate control - I only need to turn the heat dial one click and the heat generated seems to be the same pretty much as turning the dial all the way to 32 degrees - Really warm! 2. Wing Mirrors - I may have this wrong but I thought the wing mirrors automatically demisted or do they just defrost? Have I got this wrong?
  2. £13k seems a bit too cheap. The spec you mentioned I'd expect to see for around £14k upwards possibly £15k. I paid just under £16k for mine pretty much same spec (but with converted UK Sat Nav, electric heated seats) I agree with the earlier post about being in a dangerous mind travelling 8 hrs etc... Even if the car is fine I'd rather [pay a bit extra knowing the dealer / seller is that little bit nearer should issues crop up. Re imports. De Ja Vu here. Lomoto and I will try and put our case forward again for imported Zeds but there will always be an opposite view. You do need to take extra care with an import but I'm sure as the earlier posts say take an expert with you perhaps AA? or whatever whether to Scotland or not - that way you should be home and dry. Best of luck!

  4. Thanks mate - but F*$k me, just spent half hour trying to locate where this gear wheel is??? Can't find the thing anyway despite looking at the jpegs over and over again! Surely it wouldn't be located elsewhere on the JDM Zeds?
  5. That's what I mean Had a look at mine this morning, as you stare into the bulb they are ***ing bright! so they must be Xenon cos I don't think you'd get that kinda light from normal bulbs?? Never the less - Not that impressed! Anyone know a definitive way of confirming if Xenons are present?
  6. I'm still not certain what braking programs I have looking back on this thread and contrasting with the spec sheet from Bonsai - all I know is it has TCS, the replies are suggesting that ABS is standard amoungst UK, USA and JDM whatever the version, but I've not seen this present whether it be a sign that lights up or in the manual? Anyone else know? Don't think it's worth contacting Nissan UK - Have you tried calling them - usually half hour wait and when you do get through they're not interested as it's an import!
  7. Check out the for sale section here - think theres one going for £18.5k? -UK GT Spec!!

    Fogs?

Cool thanks for that, I'll let the forum know how I get on - not promising though as I've got loads of house stuff I've got to save for - will get my legs cut and the Zed if I'm seen spending anymore money on her!
  9. How do I confirm on mine then Lomoto - against the brick wall test? ut can you not tell by looking through the headlight area on front of the car? I'm sure mine are but if you're saying that due to EU legislation they are removed during SVA testing maybe mine werent put back . ????

    Fogs?

so would it be £200 with the discount - and will they definately fit my JDM ? Do you have a photo of them on yours by any chance?

    Fogs?

Not interested - only mod I'd consider now is those rear lights you mentioned for £200 ish - Think they're really worth the cash?
  12. thought they were standard with all Zeds inc JDM's? according to Bonsai cars anyway and their spec sheets. Am a bit puzzled now!! Surely the T version Zeds come with Xenons as tandard. Maybe the lights are off balalnce if you know what I mean?
  13. Yeah - well as sure as I could be - the lights kinda double focus like when all Xenons are turned on and when you're out the car you can see they give off that bright glow with tones of other colours, how do you confirm this?

    Fogs?

    Interesting - wonder why ?
  15. As the question asks? I've got a 03 52 plate JDM Zed Spec T, and am noticing recently that maybe the Xenons aren't as bright as they should be? There's not something like a switch in the car you can use to move headlights up/down etc? Would having Bi Xenons make a big difference? Just remember when I had my RX8 I'm sure they gave significantly more light? Anyone?

    Fogs?

Do Uk Zeds have front fogs?
  17. What kind of cost are we looking at for a set of the new rear projection lights? Seen some adverts on ebay but how would these compare to the real lights from Nissan?

    Fogs?

JDM's have a fog light on rear like I have, but looks like we don't have them for the front? if we do where are they? Anyone know? Cheers
  19. This might help - or open a new can of worms?
  20. Fu**! Thanks for helping put guys but now totally confused???! I have the JDM T version 52 plate - so which braking system will I have? Basicaly I want to know is will I have the same breaking stuff as a UK equivalent?
  21. We have one of these on our import JDM Zeds don't we? A thread in the general section was making the point that one of the main differences between UK and JDM Zeds was we don't have this facility? My understanding was we did and I have I think what's called an ESP switch near to my petrol cap opener. Would someone mind confirming this and also explaining if there are any other braking / suspension differences between UK and JDM, tried the differences section but no joy? Cheers
  22. Q2. I've always had the same question and never got round to sorting -Someone mentioned ECU test - how do I go about sorting this out? Secondly there is a very useful and specialist import centre for JDM Zeds / Nissans - DSA Automotives - I'm sure they can confirm what ths PIT message means. Would ring them but currently in office so need to be careful. Moderators - Am I allowed to post this centres tel number?
  23. Indeed! Which reminds me I pick my repaired one up tomorrow!
  24. Dan - Do you think UK Nissan dealers would potentially buy an import if it's in aid of a PX on one of their cars on forecourt. I know you said they can't sell imports from their site or any Nissan franchise but if they had contact/s who would be interested - do you think this could be a feasible option?
  25. Once again, I'm not saying don't buy an import, just be careful what you buy and be prepared to take a big hit on the resale value. Hey Dan - Thanks for the advice & Welcome to the forum. I for one will be interested in having my Zed serviced by you if you are to offer some kind of discount. Back to the post - again I stress it's horses for courses. I'm pretty confident that in one or two years time when I come to sell mine, the hit I'll get won't be any worse than the UK cars I've sold on in the past. Example - I had an RX8 for the space of about 6 months, I ended up selling to a dealer and lost a whopping £5k and the car was not brand new when I bought it. I'd checked with quite a few dealers as well so it wasn't a dodgy dealer. I had a Megane 225 and sold on a year later and lost £4.5k. List goes on - and yep I'm a sucker for cars and have lost thousands - but If worse case scenario I do lose more than half of what I paid for the Zed it's not gonna be any worse and I would of owned for a longer period of time giving me more opportunity to save for my next car if/ when that should happen.
