  1. Hi I would check out the Bonsai website as they do a full spec list for each version. This seems a bit odd to me in terms of no heated seats etc but looks like it has / had Bose. Also give Bonsai cars a ring as they should be able to confirm. Let us know how you get on? Good news is the interior looks immaculate! those leather seats look like they've never been sat on! Looks great. Cheers
  2. Hi mate I've got a T version and also have the Auto DJ button top of winsdscreen - no idea to this day what it does. If you don't have the sub behind the drivers seat sounds like it might not be a T version? the mini disc player might be a mod and therefore the removal of the sub could be too - although not sure why?? Sure someone else might have some views on this. Good luck!
  3. Had a search on some US sites without joy Anyone else?
  4. ok pm'd him but not seen him on this forum recently, wonder if there's a website which might answer it?
  5. I'd like to get a runaround because I'm piling on the mileage on the zed, but I know I'd be driving the other car, hating it, wishing I was driving the zed. Yep me too! Covered about 10k in 9 months. I hate racking up the mileage but can't see another way! Only option is to get a job closer to home which doesn't bother me as I hate what I do - just it's an ar*se the whole new job applying etc.....
  6. yep will do. Is it only me and Jim with the tiptronic? thought there were more?
  7. Agree with Lomoto. £16K I think sounds about right for what you're after. Reckon you could get what you want for around the £15k figure! Good luck!
  8. Before I bought mine, I had a good look in side and out (as you do) the car was / is in immaculate condition. There was no way the car had done more than the 7000 miles stated. TBH it hardly looked like the car had even been driven. I'll make the point that I've owned a lot of cars and not once have I bothered to ring previous owners etc - might be a different matter if the car was older / higher mileage. Ican't see why just because it's an import this factor should matter As Lomoto said. And I'm still lovin the fact that I drive around in a £15k car which everyone thinks is a £30k+
  9. Yeah good point - weird how I've never noticed before though. I just did a little test in the car park at work, wouldn't say the slope to the next floor is majorly steep but the Zed even began to roll back here, infact I woulod say unless I applied the brakes the car wouldn't of had a behind left!
  10. Weird! I remember driving some Automatics in the past and sure they didn't do it - I'm not bothered either way providing it's not a fault! Anyone else?
  11. Morning all, Sounds crazy and I've never noticed this before but when say I am at a junction on quite a steep slope and the car is in drive (D) on the AT/triptronic gearbox if I don't keep certain revs up the car begins to slide backwards. Now I thought with AT transmission in general this shouldn't be the case? Anyone else got this? is this the norm anyone know? Cheers all
  12. Guys - how many times, insurance is pretty much the same. These insurance companies are beginning to understand that the imports ARE the same car and made in the same factory. Go ahead and spend the extra £1000 or so but I'd rather spend it on mods which I did. As far as history is concerned - the imports come with this also and like a UK car I wouldn't take a gamble unless it had a service history which mine did - but with 7k on the clock how much service history is there Lomoto - where are you? JDM V UK thread brewing again!!
  13. Quote- "Today i found one with 24k on the clock 6spd manual silver non brembo for £8900 if I import and SVA this car it will be about £10500 at the most. - Where? Sounds like a steal to me and too good to be true! However insurance is more - No it isn't in general. My current insurance and I shopped around tended to be the same premium to that of UK ones.you dont have brembos which to be honest make a big difference - Mine although not Brembo feel amazing and better response to that of the Brembos I had on my Subaru STI UK.also there are many small things like suspension tweaks on the uk models. - Again not quite true, my understanding is suspension modification only came on to UK Zeds around 2004. to get it to uk spek if say 3k more on what would be paid. I've spent a total of £650 inc Rays, spoiler and a few other bits n pieces - ok no Brembos but that doesn't equal a balance of £2.5k? nnn
  14. ok mate cheers for putting me mind at rest!
  15. Quote "not worth it you could buy a real z for that with brembos and a decent lsd would nt touch an import for that money especially a t I paid 16.8k for my uk gt with 14.5k on the clock its on a 53" Where from can I ask?
  16. Quote "alot of them dont have brembos the decent lsd or the high tech braking system. yes they do if you get the spec you want" This old chestnut - I'm still not totally sure of what breaking system and whether I hav the high tech lsd on mine or not - Mine's a version T - anyone got any answers? Sorry again Mods Ive temporarily hijacked the thread. Cheers
  17. Yep agreed! P.S. - Whats the grounding kit like? Just put a bid on ebay for one - hoping it's gonna improve my light vision!
  18. I think you have a point - on windy / country roads manual wins hands down. For heavy driving it's advantageous. TBH it's a cracking car in both options. I find the triptronic feature a lot of fun as it feels like you're driving a manual but it feels like it has an edge! Horses for courses I suppose though
  19. Have you tried the triptronic then?
  20. ehh! because you have a distinct advantage in heavy traffic for one and just like manual you can take it to the red! Fantastic stuff! I've been through enough cars in my time and the triptronic feature on my Zed is the n*ts!
  21. I've got auto / triptronic - does just about the opposite of spoils the fun Sounds like a bargain - GT pack doesn't matter for that price. If you get tired of the cloth seats maybe look at a breakers for scraps. Always seems to be one advertised on ebay!
  22. Have got the below fitted to mine but does not use existing key fob. Great bit of kit and has never let me down. PM me if you need further info? http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /4853.html
  23. How'd you mean not a shi**er like so many JDM's on the market? Surely there's no way of knowing whether a JDM zED WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT PRIOR to landing on these shores - unless you a. have Japanese doc's and b. can read them! I've got all documents relating to mine but wouldn't have a clue really knowing whether it was involved in a an accident prior!! Anyone got any suggestions? BTW - nice motors! Zeds just look sexier everyday!
