    Chips Away

Anyone used them? Good/Bad? Got shed loads of stone chips on bonnett and bumper and scuffed alloy. Those that have used, ball park figure on cost of repair? Does it make sense to repair or only bother when you come to sell on? Cheers

Thanks mate, but I can't open the links. I'm sure it's just me and my crap description. It's the compartment which holds the indicator stick and wipers - Black plastic covering just under the odometer displays. Any clearer now?
  5. Must of been when I had my alarm put in, but I've noticed that the plastic covering which conceals the wires and stuff for the indicators has come apart. The covering has a top and bottom and is obviously connected by pushing the two together if that makes sense? Does anyone know how difficult it is to push these two back? i.e. you don't have to remove other bits such as the odometetr area? Cheers
  6. "...just thought of another Does anyone actually feel any difference in heat from the heated seats when you push the button forwards or backwards? Is it just me " I can't even notice when the heated seat are on full stop!!! Can't stress how peed I am about the stone chips. I try to hang back from traffic in front as much as possible, but must be the motorway driving I do! But small problems compared to the pleasure of owning one!!!
  7. Probably T as I like leather and heated seats and although i've changed the ehad unit and the sub the rest of the Bose set up I think is good. I'd loved to have Brembos but had them on the Scooby STI I used to own and know what a bugger they are to keep clean!
  8. Old Thread revived! Without question for me it has to be the way the car seems to get peppered with stone chips every week! Admittedly I do a lot of miles on the motorway but even so!! Think it's going to need a paint job at the front shortly!
  9. I've got a T version JDM Zed, and all T versions will come with the steering wheel controls - for Bose. However I don't use them as I had to switch over the stereo due to crappy radio frequency ( in my opinion the only real drawback of an import). I know there are slight interior and exterior diferences but not really noticeable though - except for those lovely Brembos of-course!
  10. Yep think the ladt comment is spot on, once they reach a certain age don't the Japs have to pay large sums? Back to the salt issue, providing you clean under your Zed frequently (jet wash?) isn't this at least going to postpone the risk of developing rust from salt?
  11. So TCS is on all models inc the T version (which is mine) - but LSD ????? What's this when it's at home??? I don't have a button for this on mine unless it's under the seat somewhere?
  12. Have we all got the original Japanese manuals? I've got mine - should indicate surely without you having to translate?
  13. Nixy - I think it's something to do with their servicing or something. Basicaly it's more cost effective for them to off load the vehicle than to pay costs involved in service. Again this is probably not at all accurate but think it's along these lines. Back to the subject of body protection in Japan, even if they do use them les why should this matter? as I'd of thought a large majority of the cars stay in the country? Don't know?
  14. That's funny because the import specialists I've spoken to and members of my family who've imported before have never bothered and don't see it as a priority? Also why would Japan not underseal their vehicles whilst the UK do? Could be wrong here but thought the Japanese climate and weather conditions are not too far aprt from the UK's? And surely if you look after your Zed well (like I'm sure we all do - i.e. washing under the car) you're eradicating to an extent the potential build up of salt and the like?
  15. Nice work! So the only aid the version T has is the TCS?
  16. But I thought you had the base version? whick would make sense. Remember we all had this talk before and don't think any of us came to any conclusive answers. Is there anyone that can confirm the specs for models?
  17. I have the version T and I only have the TCS button, I don't have Brembos either?????
  18. So it's just under the wheels arches really then - and not the actual components under the car (exhaust, etc..) ? I'm from Leighton Buzzard - close to Milton Keynes - Think J13 of the M1. How far away roughly are you from there? Cheers
  19. Cool! Just a thought I've got a mate in York (see previous posts) but my geography is rubbish - but if not too far away maybe I could see how it's done mate?
  20. Tell you what I can do it, but would you mind when you've done it posting a simple "how to" on this forum preferably with photos etc? Sure it would be beneficial to new members in the future?
  21. Not sure bout that but got the car!!
  22. Where bouts are you? Got a mate in Bristol, maybe meet up and do both at same time? will pay for use of applicator and everything else?
  23. Hmmm. Am in two minds. I want the piece of mind of having it done, but very reluctant to pay £300 or so - seems a hell of a lot of money. Besides I don't have it!
  24. Did you get yours done Stuey?
  25. Sounds interesting - any ideas what I would use?
