  1. They really do look bad in the flesh. That's why I keep my car in the garage so people can't see them....

    Anyway....! :D

Pics were taken in southern France, about an hour from the Spanish border at the inlaws place they have down there. Vineyards in the background and plenty of sunshine, very nice.

The wheels seem to hold up well, but to be honest you could never describe it as wear and tear with mine. I will be taking them off for the winter and they get cleaned after almost every time the car is used... When I did about 1,800 miles in 2 weeks in the car to get down to France they did really well though. I have double coated them in jetSEAL 109 and the pics above are after a wipe over with water when I got down there. I would suggest that if you seal them well and are very careful with stones and grit when wiping the lip down they will be fine. You do get the 'washing machine' effect on the rear wheel a bit so in the winter I would put time aside to clean regularly, especially with the salt and grime on UK roads.

The car isn't lowered no and IMO think it sits well as it is. The offsets do work well on these too.

    Hope this helps....

  2. The thing with just paint is brake dust and other grime can bleed into the paint itself. Generally wheels will be lacquered / polished in some way and probably baked to prevent this happening. So beware of a cheap refurb / paint as it may not last as long as you hope....

  3. Thanks very much everyone

So, I should stay away from the Jap import ones?

Anything else I should be looking for?

    Seen some more cars

    Silver

    Blue

    Black

    Cheers,

    Ben.

Please correct me if i'm wrong guys!

There are 3 models of the ZED that i'm led to believe, 03 - 55 plate are the originals, 06 - 08 are the second models as the 55 and below had a few problems with a main one being the clutch... and the 08 onwards, not too sure on these..

IMO spend a bit more and get a newer model. the ZED's hold their value quite well!

There are three model years (MY) of the 350Z.

MY03 (or 02 if import) being the 280ps first release.

MY06 which has 300ps and a redesigned front bumper and could of bits on the interior

MY07 which has the 'speed hump' bonnet, 318ps (IIRC)

Known issues can be seen in the FAQ and warranty issues. No clutch issues on any of the MYs as far as I know, and no one MY that has anything noticeable between them really. The latest was the only one that was meant to actually be any quicker as the MY06 was actually heavier apparently.

As for what to buy, get to see them and drive them and go with a list of checks and you'll be fine.
