  1. Not much I don't think. I have a lot of bits on it's way, we might need a new date arranging I think!

It makes me mad, for the past 5 years every year Elephant send me my renewal it has been exactly 30% more than online. Wangers. But they're good value for the insurance itself!
  3. Sounds out and out stupid to me. Accident avoidance isn't all down to braking. Keeping the same speed or even accelerating to move out of the way of something stationary can often be needed. Especially on the motorway, the car jamming it's brakes on could cause you to have a 40 ton truck makes itself familiar with the back of your head. I'm all for technology to improve safety, but removing driver input can't be the way forward. Take airbags out and put a spike there instead and see how much better people drive!
  4. After watching your clip of the Pagani YouTube put it up as the next related clip! Curiosity got the better of me!
  5. It's pretty much the same, if anything comes off on the hand then it gets points deducted. I lost points a couple of years ago because at the second show a judge put a fingerprint on my passenger vanity mirror. Third show, he checked if it was still there! It was.
  6. Anyone understand this?? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xNG3sgk02Lc&NR=1 Nuts!
  7. So romantic......!! It's getting there.....!
  8. Fitting wise I would imagine it to be a case of undo bolts, place spacer, do bolts up again. I haven't used one of these. It would have to seal very well indeed to prevent air leaks in the system I would imagine. Not having taken mine off (yet! ) I can't answer whether it's something anyone can make. Given the cost of importing one from Adam on the link above ($269 = about £180 delivered maybe?) I'm not sure one could be made to the same standard for that. One of the more knowledgable people will be along to confirm....

It's with Elephant. Never accept a renewal quote, always go online and get a new quote. Also try Admiral, Diamond and Zurich. Oh, and with future engine bits declared it's £562.

My insurance is up at the end of the month. Best quote so far based on:- 2004 GT 26, 3 yrs NCB, no points as of June (touch wood!), with 25 yr old gf on policy, fully comp, with commuting covered. £525. Not bad?

  14. Either a spacer http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?mode ... rodid=1796 Or a larger plenum as a unit to replace the one on the car. As the description says in the link above - more air into the cylinders means more fuel means bigger explosion means more power.......
  15. At what point does it become big enough to benefit? Adam? Any other suppliers with details? I'm happy to be the reference point and delivery boy.
  16. The only way I would do that would be a screen in the rear and you play the game standing at the back of the car. You wouldn't be able to play most of the games in the car.
  17. Because you're insured with Admiral / Elephant / Diamond and they're dumb?? Does the same for me (not your wife, but my gf!), who knows!
  18. Could we remove the yawning one on the 'quick menu' on the left and replace it with the laughing one? There's much more to laugh about on here than there is yawn!
  19. Can't be done. They have people at the Land Registry who process all the stamp duty charges. Its their job to ensure that property purchase prices are in line with other purchases in that area. Obviously its illegal too. If you go to: www.houseprices.co.uk you can see what properties have been sold for in your local area. The property would have to a repossession or derelict to justify why its significantly below market value. To avoid stamp duty all together you'd have to sell your houses to each other for less than £125k which is going to raise alarm bells with someone along the way! Where there's a will there's a way...... Get a mate to survey both and say they're about to fall down! (Joke, before I get flamed!!)
  20. Sorry, not sure what you're referring to? Apart from a jack, axle stands (Halfords will be fine), your wheel brace from the boot, and something to chock the front wheels when doing the rears you don't need anything else. Tip - remember to slacken the wheel bolts before you jack it up, and take the hand brake off for the rears. Only do one corner at a time.
  21. No permanent clock display Am I missing something here because mine defaults to the clock permanently on the righthand circular instrument on top of the dash. It should return to whatever you left it on last.
  22. Endurance Gloss hasn't done that to my car. Maybe your putting too much on Depends if you're being judged on the presentation of your car - then you notice it!
