£850 delivered!? Is that right?!!? If so......

Looks good Mark! And we should arrange another meet in our sunny area too......

Nice Jay - that's what my bro runs his website from.

Top job Did you use a rotary or PC / UDM? At last someone has shown Jetseal results on a Zed here too! It is good stuff, especially on wheels to prevent the typical dust build up. Now don't do it again Stevie!

It happened to stay in the garage for a week and each time I went in I just added some more!

You'll find the P21S does give a very good finish, and quite a wet look. As GIXXER said, don't let it dry before buffing, and the correct DODO Juice will be wetter looking but not as deep IMO. Also, it isn't the most durable. If you are going to the effort, I would recommend a good sealant underneath is (Jetseal or AG Ultra Gloss) as it is much more resiliant, especially at this time of year. This pic is clay - AG Extra deep shine polish (hand) - 5 coats of P21S. As for the Megs wax, I found it OK actually. Much better than the complete waste of £££ Gold Class stuff. But you will see the difference with the P21S

What are the ticket details etc. Kev? -
Don't worry about it!

Exactly! OK, so given the proximity of the standard air box vs any induction kit to the engine, can it now be explained how anyone thinks it is any different?? Since the ECU adjusts, it will kick out the same, therefore negating either any benefit from an induction kit, and any reduction 'heat soak' may cause. BTW, this isn't to take anything away from the work done timo, looks good!

LoT Elise Trophy - Final Round Brands Hatch 10th & 11th

I'm not sure as I never joined SELOC. Expecting to go there Sunday. -
Excellent, at least the two buckets and Megs mitt are a very good start! I would recommend a few alternatives. Fairly easy is a Flash car wash system that uses de-ionised water to rinse the car, and therefore dries spot free. I also have an AquaGleam http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/index.ph ... ductId=105 which is a bigger version of the Flash system. To actually dry it with a cloth / towel, people use the Megs drying towels (I don't) and I use an AG synthetic chamois. When it is dark and there is a bright light nearby, you may see some lines in the paint, which will be the effects of dragging the rubber across the paintwork. A towel / chamois will absorb the particles and leave a water layer between the itself and the paintwork as it is absorbed. If you want an alternative to the AG Gloss then try Chemical Guys Jetseal, and another alternative to the P21S wax would be Collinite (harder wearing). HTH

It just means having to get the wax out again, it's in a state at the moment! And then coming home before going to the Zed meet. Will see if B wants to drive... PM received and replied. -

I'm going. Got my tickets yesterday. On touble is there's 4 of us and as it's a long way so seems crazy taking 2 cars...plus expensive. Where are you heading from? I'm not sure what to do, as I'm supposed to be at the dock meet in the evening. So is it the Zed or the Elise..... Elise..... We driving down from Derbyshire, so M1 & M25. About 170 miles so probably take the wife's car.. A shame but seems pointless taking 2 cars so far just to park in the Lotus reserved car park. I'm still looking forward to the day and hope to get to as many as possible next year.. Am thinking I may take the Zed as it'll probably be a quieter car park than the Lotus one!! -

There is something that gets the adrenaline going a bit more in the Elise. Makes everything noisier and gives a feeling of wanting to get from A to B as quickly as the little go kart will get you there. The opposite of a country wallow! -

Why not? IMO driving the Elise with the roof off completely changes the experience. Have you driven open top cars before? It is just.....different. I can't putmy finger on it, but it just feels like you're getting so much more from the car. Maybe it's another assault on the senses, but I really enjoy it. -
They changed some of the dials and centre console design a little bit. I would advise not using the squeegee thing on the paintwork. If it is the flexi blade I think you mean, it will drag tiny bits of dirt across the paint and slowly scratch the top coat. The AG gloss is a great product, but I would put it on before any wax. It bonds to the paint work and then you add the wax on top of it to enhance the shine a bit more. The AG is a very long lasting product too. P21S is a carnuba based wax and gives a great shine. Albeit it doesn't last a very long time (couple of weeks). Using the speed detailer to top it up can help. I guess / hope you use a wash mitt and two buckets too?

You won't want to drive with the roof on once you've tried it Kev. -
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-Nissan-35 ... dZViewItem £239 - not cheap , i tried a few weeks ago to get a good price on these and all the sources were around the £250 mark Take a look at Mike's post about a discount code. i'm sure it wont be substantial enough OK, lets clear this up. Based on what has been posted, they should be available, using a discount code available through this forum, for £199. Holdcroft are a Nissan dealer. MJP are a trader on here, and also offer a discount.

Needs a Stage 2 or 2ublar/Larini Exhaust. S/C sounds great int he car though... your next mod then Kev Don't think so. The car I test drove had a 2ubular and it sounded like a race car and I mean rediculously loud. The engine is so close in the Exige that any performance exhaust is going to sound loud. I'm sticking with the standard exhaust for now. At least you get the S/C whine which is quite addictive. First mod is Schroth Harnesses which are on order... Also looking for a soft top conversion for next summer.. Why didn't you get an Elise then Kev??? I prefer the Exige, both the looks and the specification, especially with the S/C, . Yea I know Lotus are making a S/C elise but with no intercooler. I will mainly use the Exige as a hard top in anycase but I would like the option for couple of weeks a year in the summer to go topless....wahey. Plus it also keeps the missus happy. A secondhand Elise soft top from eBay is the way to go. And you could've just bought the hardtop for the Elise! Surely having someone chop the roof off your Exige is going to be pricey! I know what you mean about looks etc, but by the time the roof has been chopped off it will look the same as an Elise with a hardtop! -
Can you explain to me how heat soak affects the performance of a car when it is stationary? And as for it feeling faster on a colder night, I agree Sinbad but think it is more response than it is out and out pace.
