We heard you the first time It needed saying again In fact, does that mean that insurance is invalid as it is parked illegally? I'd imagine they'd try anything to get out of it, citing that if it wasn't parked illegally it would of been damaged etc etc. My initial point was that why would you park your car directly behind your other car on double yellows? inside job? Not sure why you'd destroy a rare Evo VI Xtreme to do that though. Torch the RS4 by all means. If I had those cars I'd park them close to each other too..... Me too, but I wouldn't park one illegally to do so. I've had a car clamped and towed away for parking on double yellows within a flat's car park. Just seems strange to me. If I was the loss adjustor for the insurance company I'd certainly be fighting the RS4 part of the claim ............. If he was likely to get clamped presumably it would be a fairly rubbish plan as the RS4 would probably have been towed before he could set fire to the Evo... Or alternatively the witch-hunt brigade could be casting aspersions on the scantest of evidence.

I can't see the insurance company getting any mileage out of the double yellow lines issue and if he has three cars and he lives in a flat its hardly surprising he has trouble parking up. If that's the original clutch then I might be a good idea to replace now but source the part from someone like bigphil not the dealer.

Just to update, he didn't go with the supercharged one in the end but has just landed himself an 04 Alpina Roadster S with Lux pack. Now, I've never liked the look of the Alpina in the pics but this thing looked the dogs in the sunshine on Sunday. Interior was fantastic with all the extra leather, although the Alpina plaque with the build number etc on looks like it came from the local trophy engraving shop! Engine and exhaust sound fantastic - really deep and throbby - a million miles away from the metallic raspy M cars. Problem is power and torque are pretty similar to my Zed but it weighs over 200kg less. I'm screwed!

Just to follow this up I spotted the following thread... http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=359904 Seems that there have been some accidents where GT4 alloys which have been chromed have also failed. Now thankfully we don't have the same thing for chrome as our Yankee buddys but I am beginning to wonder about the quality of the GT4 rims. If you have GT4s (and they seem to be coming with the new "special edition" 08 cars) I would steer clear of anything which involves a high heat process such as powdercoating and chroming.
