Im using 15mm from Tarmac Sportz, was advised the 20mm is the max for the Nismo if you plan to go lower than stock.

While I have no plans to drop it low, the 15mm adds a bit of  an aggressive look and fills the arches out, not sure I would have liked it as much with 20mm

Cheers Willsy - no plans to drop it either and I think, as you have done, 15mm all round will create a subtle but effective improvement.

Do you mean you bought the Tarmac Sportz spacers branded as Japan Racing?

    Thanks

  2. On the subject of plates 'n' plinths, has anyone found or fitted Jap/US style number plate plinths - the sort where the registration is displayed double layer, per an imported vehicle?

I've found just one option, but it's in the official Nismo catalogue at a ridiculous price!

5w-30 fully synthetic oil as recommended directly from the owners manual (16 plate Nismo)

HOWEVER, I have switched to a slightly thicker oil, 5w-40 millers CFS as I wanted a slightly higher protection when warm. My Nismo just ticked over 35K on the clock. Do not cheap out on the oil, as mentioned above Opie oils are seriously good guys

Abbey replenished my oil with Millers a few weeks back on its P1 service. Can't be sure of the grade without checking the invoice, but it must be good stuff.

Thanks for replies. Finally booked in for tyres and geo at Abbey in Oxted tomorrow. Very excited!
Will let you know the outcome...

Are you still about AliBear? Be interested to hear about what Abbey fitted and how the car is now.

I can see how it might be a bit confusing but it's very simple! If you zoom in on the picture you will see the spacer is bolted onto the original studs with new, supplied nuts. The spacers come with very high strength studs built in and the spacers are unique to the model of car, not universal so a perfect fit to the hub and the length of the new studs are all perfect. I think they cost somewhere in the region of £260 for all 4 so they're not cheap but we'll engineered items never are!

Ah okay Mat, how did I miss that?! See what you mean now.

What brand is fitted in your photo above and any recommendation on suppliers? I think I use H&R on my BM.

I'm looking for 10 or 15mm, not sure yet. Depends what the standard set up on a 2017 Nismo will allow, which I need to investigate. The front wheels in particular sit a little snug within the arches, so just need to come out a tad.

    Thanks.

it would be the equivalent of 1552 pounds a year in order to save the whales or what ever their reasoning for tax is as it is not even road tax, it is motor tax which is a luxury tax that does not get put back into the roads.

That is just an unbelievable amount to pay. I pay £150 per year for my 2017 Nismo. Had I bought an earlier one it would have been over £500 and if mine had a list price of over £40k when new (it was just under) again, it would have been over £500. So, a 2017 model with the list price under £40k was the sweet spot.

    But over £1.5k? Criminal.

Cheers! Perhaps we can get a Sussex meet arranged when lockdown ends. There's always Sushi Sundays at Goodwood 👍🏼

Yes sure, there are Sussex meets every so often in normal times. Not been here long myself so yet to attend one.

I came from a 350z de to a fresh out of the box nismo and the difference is night and day, the fake v6 soundtrack isn't that annoying i think it can be deleted

Paul - I'm considering transferring one of my "on retention" plates onto my 370Z Nismo. The likely option is just five characters like yours, enabling a reduced width plate. Not a problem with the rear, but my current full size front plate sits within the standard plinth. How have you fixed yours? I can't quite make it out from the photo.

    Looks good by the way...

Abbey did my annual service and 8 year Mot all good with no advisories, the only issue  was the oil cooler fitted when i went FI was leaking badly so needed replacing, it looked as though it had been weeping for some time.

I had a Vibra - Technics gearbox mounting fitted while the car was on the ramps, it is so superior to OEM, the gear changes are now much more precise. You can see the difference in build quality by comparing the two pictures. The original Nissan mounting can be rotated by hand !

Apologies - noob alert - can you expand please on the benefits of this and what's actually being improved, how and at what cost?

That mot station / tester is about to have a very rough couple of days haha. As I said the ministry take this very seriously so they're going to get a random spot check and every bit of paperwork gone through.

I look back and think how slack MOT tests could be in the 80s and 90s, prior to the internet and automation. I recall several MOT test stations that would turn a blind eye on faults for a few quid to those they knew well (that didn't include me btw!).

Yes mate. Organised by me as REO fairly regularly. I organised the SE shows too. Nothing happening before June. I have Ace cafe booked for our annual meet which should be ok.

Hi, thanks for your response. Would they be monthly or just ad-hoc, and at various locations?

With regards to shows, does the club attend the Bromley Pageant?
