  1. Its probably Brexit...... Its hard to tell with so many factors but, how many were at the cheapest previously? If it was just one company you could find they have changed there rating since you done the quote to match others, insurers wont want to be the cheapest by miles so will check other insurers rating regarding postcode etc and maybe change this to bring them in line with other companies. Only thing if its just the cheapest your looking for is to try other comparison sites or specialists as advised above. Also double check everything is exactly the same, job title and line of business is something you could enter slightly different but could remove a company that were quoting before. Cal
  2. Sorry didn't see the sizes in the description
  3. Hi, The discs you put the link to are they brembo size? Cheers
  4. Is this the pagid ones? would you recommend them or are brembos, ebc better?
  5. 54 plate GT with 104k miles manual, good condition, seats not torn etc. Still has stone chips to front bumper and bonnet as expected. Brakes are probably going to need done within 1-2k miles, and although everything was fine when purchased, drivers side banana arm needs replacing now (common fault), service history is perfect you can tell from it whenever anything was required it was done, which is something will continue to do. Alot of people mention tyre prices on this as expensive but im coming from a car that was £250 per corner and would go through them in less that 6000 miles so to be honest i find tyres very reasonable. But as said before mileage isnt an issue as long as its been well serviced, id prefer high miler compared to one thats not had oils done regularly and has obviously just been used to get thrashed a few miles every month or so. Roadsters seem to be going cheaper tbh but have the issue of a very expensive repair or replacement of the roof when or if required. Worth mentioning as well its worth travelling for the right car, dont let a £50 train fair put you off travelling to see a car, mine was in lake district and im in Glasgow, think i got a return ticket for £36 so no issue if i got there and it wasn't right.
  6. I just bought mine at the end of last year, just over 100k on it and paid over £4k for mine, and the next service isn't going to be cheap so will be about £5000 in total (excluding tax and insurance) so would say its all about the condition, yes you can get cheaper cars but more than likely need a lot of work, as said previously might be worth saving a bit more getting an example thats not going to need as much spent on it. Mileage wasn't a concern for me at all as engine always well maintained, its when its not got full history, not been ran on super unleaded dodgy repairs that would put me off. But as said its a 15 year old car there can always be issues.

    W/Brembo

Hi sorry if this is a stupid question but what does w/Brembo mean? Are these Brembo fitment or not? in refrence to RTS discs for 350z. TIA
  8. Nice Cars. Blue paint looks stunning, sure the HR will look good with you spending your time on it!
  9. Fire and theft, and yes normally annual as far as i am aware. But thats not to say you cant then amend the cover back to Comp part way through the year.
  10. While you are right with some companies this is not always the case, i work for an insurer, we offer laid up cover, the price of laid up insurance is significantly cheaper than fully comp cover. Different Underwriters will look at this differently its dependant on the company and their appetite. I work for a Rural insurer, so its very common for our customers to have laid up vehicles, machinery and vintage vehicles, and we cover accordingly so although you are probably right for a large number of companies they dont all look at things that way.
  11. Yeah i agree you shouldn't have to say if your SORNing as the risk is being reduced, but the cover should be reduced also to reflect this however i don't think Admiral will do that as i said previously i would just weigh up options to decide from there what to do.
  12. HI, Your 1 Years earned NCB will remain, it has a shelf life of up to 2 years with most insurers but yes you wont get anything for the 3 months obviously. In regards to cancelling the policy, i would imagine they charge an admin fee for doing this, so its up to you if your happy with this to make the saving over the winter. Some insurers would allow the policy to be amended to fire and theft only cover, however your NCB is normally removed during this time and put back onto the policy when it goes back on the road. However i dont know if Admiral would do this for you. If you plan on doing this each year it would then cause the issue of not increasing your NCB as you would never do the full year so need to weigh up ur options, it might be worth just leaving insured declaring SORN so just making the saving on tax..... and by this i mean dont tell admiral you have declared as SORN Ideal thing would be to change to fire and theft cover to keep the policy going but as i said its unlikely that admiral would do this but would be worth asking. Hope this makes sense
  13. Haha couldn't agree more the Cupra was crazy fast at motorway speeds and up although still tough to handle in the rain (had it wheelspin at 100 in 5th gear) But bank balance isn't that great just now but should be good all going well with the Zed!
  14. Haha thanks although u may be biased
  15. And yeah very different its so strange going to an old car from a new one but i have just always loved the Zed, and since buying this I've found some not bad deals on a 370z so this is now a possibility where before i was just looking at another Cupra or a 140i or its next derivative. anyway heres my poorly done door pull
  16. Thanks mate yours is defiantly inspirational, mine will never be as clean! BTW how did u wrap ur door handles with the tint........ I just done the passenger door pull quickly today and its ok but really not great, the door handles need done but don't think i have that skill!
  17. No just replaced the gas boot struts to stop myself getting decapitated i do need to use two hands to open, so will look into doing a fix in future but at the moment it doesn't bother me too much!
  18. Soo tidy. With the headlight tints, i have also bought planned on doing the door pull, strut brace like ours (would do the door handle but don't think my talents will stretch that far....... but do u feel they affect the actual headlight brightness drastically? Although they are Zenons don't feel like they are great as they are so unsure about darkening them? Cheers
  19. So today was a mixed day said bye to the Cupra which was very sad, but i am now insured on the Zed and its out from the garage! Trip to Tesco for some 99 fuel (and shopping) and its now outside the flat. Going to enjoy getting used to it and loving the sound!!!! Although the Cupra had the power the noise just wasn't there. Need exhaust soon i think
  20. Thanks mate will have a look, but may sand them first
  21. Haha thanks! i do too, just from the cigarete lighter socket so one wire runs then into spare wheel space in the boot. They were very cheap from Amazon and have remote to change colours.
  22. and as mentioned in my intro to the forum i fitted what i call ricer lights under the rear strut brace , i think it looks good, they don't need to be on and are easy removed this will probe get hate but after leasing for the last 4 years at least i wanted to personalise my car as av not been able to and although an exhaust woulda been my first choice budget after buying means lights will need to do
  23. and of course forgot to mention replaced boot gas struts as within a week of buying the car it had tried to decapitate me twice! so just sourced through eBay and fitted the wrong way the first time... they eventually fitted fine and i don't need to worry now! no pics of this but if evidence is required can submit
  24. also forgot to mention windscreen wiper arms done, kinda before and kinda after but happy with the difference
