  1. Personally I'm wary of GPS, I don't want 55 in a 50 to be the decision maker when somebody drives into me.

i know what you mean but there is an answer to that but if you are worried best not to have one as they can be confiscated by police if the accident is bad enough with whatever history you have on the memory card available.

I'm getting old, I only tend to have a heavy foot up to the speed limit these days anyway so not too worried from that perspective but I may have to review my OH's history to be safe .

I'm not entirely sure this is true, there is an old law which stops you from self incrimination. At least that's what I was told  just snap the memory card if the knock was your fault :stir:

  2. Haven't had this issue but in certain I've seen some braces for the exhaust you can buy which lift it up a bit protecting it from hitting the ground, might be worth investing in if you're going to have to get another y pipe.

  3. It will be the sensor if it's saying that's the issue, the sensor even stats what it does in the name. Air/fuel sensor meaning it has some contribution to measuring how the air and fuel is mixed. If it's faulty it could be causing the ECU to inject to much fuel thus causing your car to run rich and Miss fire.

  4. I went for limo tint on the back and sides, cant post pictures as im on my phone but if you look through my build thread you'll see plenty haha.

Word of warning, I believe the Z came with a factory tint on the fronts, mine did and when tested by the tinters it was right on the limit, so any darker could invite trouble!

The factory tint on the front was on the limit?

I was going to buy some tint for my front windows but if this is the case I better get it tested first :S

  5. I had one for a brief period on my ep3. Was running a fair bit of power.

If I'm being honest the car did seem to be a bit snappier when going back on the throttle after changin gear, but only slightly. The metallic vibration was horrible (worse than stiffened mounts I'd say) especially at idle so it had to go!

Was the vibration noise coming from the joints of the strut vibrating against the mounts or was it the whole frame of the car making the noise?

  6. If memory servs me well, I believe they're just spot welded onto the frame of the car. These spot welds just have to ground away, have no clue how they'd be attached unless they come with brackets since you can't weld carbon fibre ;) (contrary to what some believe hehe)

  7. It just has a little bit of spring to it on the last 1/10th

The clutch is fine, it's not a high biting point or anything, it's just the height of the pedal. It sits about 1" higher than the brake pedal. Just hard work to drive it smoothly. I either kangaroo from a stationary position or rev the tits off it (with a loud exhaust) to then pull away like a learner!

Exactly this as soon as it bites it just wants to spring up slightly. Couple of people I've spoke to say this I normal.

  8. Clutch is a bit random, mine was high when I bought it and 3 months later the clutch gave up. But heard others with high clutch pedals and had no problems. Just one of those things. But it certainly shouldnt be jumping as you describe it based on the Zeds I drove which didnt have that charateristc?

It's not as such jumping I think it's just when the clutch engages its really poppy and wants to fully engage.

It's a sporty clutch thing isn't it, they're either on or off almost. It basically doesn't The clutch being ridden

  9. They're great cars, I was torn between this and a supra they're similar in pricing now days. But I know 4 people with supras but I don't know a single person with a 350z. Plus it's a lot quicker than the NA 2Jz block so there's that too :D

So glad I bought a 350 instead of the supra

  10. Went for dark smoke on all rear windows it's a 75% tint I'll try and get some pics on my lunch break.

Mine was a diy £21 eBay job though :p

    Poor pictures I know.

Inside the car it's a huge difference at night it's hard to see car lights behind you :)

But who needs to see behind you in a Zed anyways you smoke almost everything on the road :p

  11. You definitely want thermostatic or you'll not get the oil up to temp during the colder months.

And I do think it's worth having one, or an oil pan spacer regardless of track/drift - these engines could do with more oil capacity, and this helps.

Agreed, in the U.K. It's rare to get 25 degrees plus temps and even then I don't think you'll benefit from it much.
