    Ahh yeah I do see your point! I guess it depends on how much traffic you are planning to get stuck in! Autos for dailys all day LONG! Yeah i get what you mean about manuals on track but i can't lie, if you asked me to drive a lap without throttle matching H&T I honestly wouldn't have a clue what to do. It's something I do without thinking now. We are taking a group of friends to Blyton soon so they can have a go of the MX5 (trying to get them the track bug) and it suddenly dawned on me that they wont know how to H&T and i wont have a clue how to teach them anything without and a first track day isn't the place to teach them that technique haha! Maybe the synchros will just take a bashing! Rather worn synchros on a mx5 than a manual 991.2 .

    Forgive me for saying this but i would go PDK. Had a few laps in a 991 round Donington and my god it was silly SILLY fast! The PDK helped you concentrate on the task at hand. That said if it was to be used as more of a road toy then it would have to be manual but then we would all go for the turbo over a gt3? Anyone see that the turbo and gt3 set same times on test round Anglesey!! Madness!!

  7. You are saying all the right things! I bloody love Enkeis! I just can't justify it. I understand that it would make some difference but not justifiable amounts for the cost. I dont need it to be the ultimate. Just affordable fun! I could soon be in way too deep with this car so the Rays will have to do haha! Thanks for the offer Jetpilot, i really wish i could! Thanks for the kind words about the Indy too! Hehe Godisme, if you have seen any of the MK vids you will see i like to drive at little sketchy and work back to a cleaner lap😂😂😂. Circuit dependant ofcourse, Cadwell is a little harder to have that aproach than Blyton lol.

  10. Haha yeah the Celica losing a wheel made me chuckle! Thanks guys! Hope to get out in it soon but realistically don't think it will be out on track until May. Will be getting lots of time in the 350 and mx5 before then though ðŸ‘. A few laps of Blyton including a Hyabusa battle....
  11. Bare with me on the name, it will make sense in a few paragraphs 😂. A few years back I bought an MK Indy RR running a little Zetec motor. Previously driving a Cosworth Powered Westfield with silly power and quite a dog rough chassis, the car was quick but i wasn't learning a damn thing other than when you spin off at 90mph on a damp Donington you sure feel alive! So 160hp and a dream chassis, full inboard suspension, rose joints everywhere (not a rubber bushing in sight), incredibly wide track are just a few things that make the MK Indy RR nothing short of MIND BLOWING to drive! My plan was always to drop an F20 s2000 motor in after I had learnt the chassis with less power. I had the manifold and many other parts ready. The poor zetec had given me nothing but headaches. Type 9 boxes are utter t*ss and eventually when a webber float broke and flooded the engine bay and surrounding few meters in fuel and nearly set me on fire in the pit lane at Cadwell I had to get rid and start the f20 swap earlier than planned. That is when everything changed. In April 2014 our whole lives took a massive blow. We lost a very good friend when an unfortunate accident on his CBR Fireblade while he was out on the Cat & Fiddle (our all time fav road) took him from us. Dev had planned to race at club level the next year but instead the Bike was left in a sorry state in my workshop and we were faced with an impossible situation to overcome. Me and Dev at Blyton. Dev the day we picked the Fireblade up. It was at this point i knew i needed a focus, something to repel the demons. A reason to get up in the morning and go to work and a vision to aim towards... The MK needed to become the Devastator. For months i researched the install and over and over in my head envisioned my first lap of Cadwell park in minuscule detail. The emotions of pulling out of the pits and hammering the car listening to his bike roar again sure gave me a focus! It took 18 months to slowly build the car. As you can imagine it is a bit of a mission getting a bike motor to run in a seven. Research told me that 08/09 blade motors suffered from crank teeth wear and 2011 onwards used fly by wire throttle so thank you Dev for buying a 2010, the goldilocks of Fireblade motors! A custom made two piece billet sump to give more floor clearance and to stop any nasty oil surge, reversing the whole throttle body assembly to package neatly in between the cylinder head and gearbox then resulted in us making a fibreglass intake that bonded onto the oem airbox to give one forward facing duct instead of two sideways ones are just a few of the troubles we overcame. It was vitally important to keep the oem airbox as it runs dual fuel rails. One housed as usual in the throttle bodies and then a further rail above the stacks feeding a mist for the higher RPM requirements. Fuelling was taken care of using a low pressure fuel pump feeding a swirl pot with the oem Fireblade pump in the base. This ensured no nasty fuel surge that many suffer from. The mech water pump was blanked and an electric water pump added to fully hard piped coolant lines, custom two piece prop and sprocket adapter took care of transferring power from the motor to the rear differential. A Woolich racing ECU managed the subtle changes the custom exhaust manifold would bring along with getting the most out of the motor and deleting the oem exhaust valve, electronics steering damper etc. Along with a full custom loom and map from EFI. The Woolich now including race tools which allows flat upshifts, launch control and a few other trick options, pub ammo maybe, trick as f#ck? Yes! Another gifted item as well as the motor came from a friend Ron when he took me with him to collect his new GSXR 600. We walked in and all i could see was this Yoshimura MotoGP can sat in a glass display cabinet for a stupid, STUPID price... He had to have it, and i made sure he bought it haha. The lobster tail, tidy welds and dull finish made me damn drule... A matter of weeks later he fell off and scuffed the damn thing up and the oem can went back on. So i made a custom bracket, reversed the can and the result visually was wild. Only to be trumped by the noise which you can hear in the Curborough vid below 😎. So the Devastator was ready just in time for summer 2016, and what an incredible summer it was! The day i had been dreaming about was here and I finally got to sample mine and my close friends hard work. Did i find myself overcome with emotion at the shear significance of what I was now driving? NOT A BLOODY CHANCE! If you think you can drive this thing while even so much as thinking about anything else you are so wrong. What this now gave me was utter 100% focus. An outlet to switch off from the world and switch on to the most engaging driving tool I could ever want. It is only as the motor ticks cool and i take my helmet off and step out of the car that i can then smile and truley commemorate my friend. The year was spent making slight improvements in drivability and temp stability. Below you can find a link to the Blyton, Curborough and Cadwell track days and some road parties in North Wales. If you got this far thanks for reading and showing interest. This is a car i will keep for life. A few tweaks in time for the summer season including flat floor and diffuser but really nothing major at all. I just want to drive the thing as much as i can! Full slicks and improved geo settings will make the days i have planned at Oulton, Curborough, Cadwell and Anglesey and many more over the summer mega fun.   12. Oooo Interesting! Look a few posts up bud and you can see i have gone for coilovers before ARBs . Totally understand why people would rather ARBs first but for the money i felt i should go for the Coilovers. Mainly because i have more adjustment to play with than anything else since this is an all rounder. Unfortunatley the rears are 10s so a little heavier than you suggest but from what you have said i am going to be very happy with that if i can tame it down to the level i like! Anything to get the rear to pitch in and do anything but plough straight on in a dismal rush of understeer! Damping can also be adjusted to fine tune this and geometry too ofcourse. Maybe i will eat my words, but there is only one way for me to find out and that's to do it! Looking at the rates Ohlins, HSD and Cusco use on rear i may be in for a shock! I am with you on wider, lighter wheels! One thing that has stood out for me about the 350 is the rolling mass you can really feel pulling you about. It took a little getting used to. I really wish i could keep spending but this was only meant to be a daily, i have a fireblade MK Indy RR and Mx5 track cars so really trying to keep things sensible with this... Although i am already failing!! I am itching for a mechanical diff and 4.1 final drive but i must stop!! But i know i wont 😭... Maybe lighter flywheel after that when the clutch inevitably goes! As for Nurburgring. My first ever lap was in an absolute storm just after a dry VLN race so the track was super rubbered in and slippy! Insane conditions but i bloody love it! It was mainly the off camber corners that got my heart going, knowing if you go in too fast you are only going to speed up haha! Could be a little trickier in a car with so much more power but used to a 7 style car with 400hp per tonne so let's hope i keep it in one peice! Will let you know my thoughts on the coilovers after Anglesey on the 12th. As for Spa, I wish I could have an opinion but I cant comment until I've been 😭
  13. Thanks guys, sorry Adrian my pockets dont go that deep for a y pipe . Should be sorted for the Y pipe now but still after some form of diffuser and sorry for not being clear on the side steps, i meant the glitsy tat ones people put down the sideskirts to make it look like you are running a complete flat floor 😊.

  16. Awesome stuff! Appart from the brake failure but so thankful it ended well, those situations are never nice and so lucky in many ways! Good to hear about the engine temps, I have been wondering how i will get on with oem set up that said you are running silly power haha!

Pretty shocked (terrid pun) that the tein superstreets are that heavy and dont really know what to make of the two HSD rates, seem a little odd that but hell they must do the R&D! Hehe yeah i can imagine! Let's hope i get some good use out of this EDFC then, i will make a tally every time i use it over a month and let you know if it was worth it haha!
  18. Hey guys away at the moment hence late response ðŸ‘. Ahh Rob what an offer, thank you so much, mega apreciate that! I found a supplier for the Tein Monosport while i had hours to kill (spent bored by a pool under an umbrella while the wife tans haha) at a good price so went for them in the end. The GT1 MeisterRs do look brilliant, with that in mind how great would it be to compare them sometime! Always wanted a good set of Teins, had superstreets 10 years ago on a Civic but they were old and tired! The Monosport look great for my application with pretty hectic spring rates 10/12 but improved damping look to be much less crashy than the Monoflex were. Forgive me for being so influenced by a 'gimmik' but the addition of EDFC allowing me to electronically adjust dampers from the drivers seat really did sell me the Teins over other options. As this is my daily and a car i use on GTs and days out in the lakes, north wales etc the idea of simply adjusting from comfort to 'race car' in a second is mega. Ohh Docwra, that would be brilliant, If i could push to KW v3 or Ohlins i certainly would! Ahh i am there end of April so we may miss each other, always up for trying to book on a track day though . Anglesey on March 12 so will whack the Teins on and try and dial them in a bit, see if we can get a more nutural feel to the chassis, whoop!

  20. Thanks guys, yeah used jerrick lots over the years. Had meisterR big brake kit on zeta Rs on an Integra, Zeta S on a Civic along with kits on an Evo 5 and currently run them on my MX5 too. Totally agree that the customer service is worth it alone. I will have a think as the KW V2s look like a good buy for the same money as the GT1s, i will get doing some proper research! For my level/ability i cant lie, any of the suggestions would be good enough! Docwra, i'm going to Nur in April for 10 days!! Will see you there haha!
  21. Brilliant, totally agree, i wont do them all in one go. Have been tempted to start with ARBs so i can run a softer damper setup but a set of coilovers straight away would be more cost effective and be more adjustable/beneficial for flicking between road and track settings. I guess i can also play with the damping front to rear to get the balance of the car feeling a little less front bias. I was going to use camber arms to do this but this would also have a negative effect on tyre wear. You will be glad to know i fitted braided lines when rebuilding callipers . VDC fuse is the only 50AMP fuse in the small rectangular fuse box next to batt. Hehe Spa in October eh! Will have to get saving! QUESTION: If you had to chose between MeisterR CRDs and Tein Mono Sports which would you go for and why?
  22. Ahh great Rob, i was shocked at the difference in pedal feel! Yeah i would love to get a proper mechanical diff and final drive built in time. Next on the list is coilovers, camber arms and ARBs, i will benchmark every time i do a mod at Blyton so we can keep a record on how these changes have effect. So a quick look through the footage shows that we went faster with the new consumables. Lot's of traffic meant for very few clear laps during the day. Far from an optimised lap but all good fun>>
  23. Cheers Rob, Video build diary for the 350 will be uploaded along with the Anglesey vid shortly . Will go into what i have done a bit more in that vid. What kind of how too's would you be interested in? The brake pedal felt spongey and hard to really gauge what the pads/fluid was doing for the first session (First session was the Fiesta battle), i could feel the car braking for me and doing odd things and the pedal never stayed consistent. As soon as the VDC fuse was pulled it took away all of that. I was left with a much more solid pedal that wouldn't really change. This meant i could really start to get confidence and brake harder and later as the day went on .
