  1. I imagine the other bushes/bolts are more than likely seized too. Lets hope not!
  2. Just after a little advice. I have to replace the rear hub to lower damper fork bushes. In the past have you guys been able to do this with the hubs still on the car? Really can't be arsed to take the hubs off if i can help it!
  3. Saw this today too bud. Red wheels?? Did i see you recently in a silver 350z?
  4. Need Rear Shock to Knuckle Bush ASAP please dudes .
  5. It's tricky because i am not after 'the ultimate' out of the 350z. I love it loads but trying to find more and more pace is just going to cripple me haha. I went too far on previous builds when really i should of realised I had hit the 'ceiling' of that certain build and enjoyed as is until i wanted more. It wasn't my intention to even go as far as I have with the 350z but the base was that good I thought it deserved properly perusing to make my humble, affordable version of a 350z 911 GT3/CAMYMAN R/Z4M etc (I know people may scoff at that but i really believe it is the best budget alternative and 350z prices will rise in the next few years, i am sure of it). All the mods I have done have been to make it track worthy enough and more engaging/rewarding to drive over all out pace. Between building an Aero package for the MK ready for May, Currently developing a Supercharger kit for the MX5 (Avacado), affording all the track days and Nur trips I cant go as mental as I would like on the 350 right away. It looks respectable at the moment too and as said in the vid, these 'time attack' mods can suddenly make a very sleek and sexeh car look completely 'barry boys' worthy. Next up for the 350 has to be the final drive and mech diff build but this is a big investment for an already dwindling bank balance haha! Money I am trying to hold back incase anything pops up too. If the CBR motor failed, Clutch or bottom end shat itself on the 350 i would be pretty KOd right now haha!
  6. We were unable to get a completley clear lap with the wing on. With just a rear wing it wasn't much faster in all honesty, but it's clear from the video how much easier the car was to drive at the same speed when directly compared. Slightly higher corner entry speeds and the rear wing made it faster on corner exits, especially the bumpier corner exits. It isn't until you add front aero that you see your efforts properly pay off. Regardless of this, the more rear end grip/stability means a faster lap time can now undoubtedly be achieved, the direct comparison undeniably confirms this. Also means you can add more front end grip without ruining the cars balance/ making it harder to pedal... Which is exactly what was done next with a large front splitter and canards.
  7. It is pretty difficult to call for your application in all honesty. The r888 is by far the better track focussed dry tyre with surprising levels of wet grip and water dispersion (considering the tread). The AD08r however is just the best all round tyre i have ever had, i dont run the 48r on my 350 but do on the MK. The Ad08r is brilliant from cold and very good wet performance. The r888 probably comes up closer to an a048r. Again a tyre i love but in the wet the 48 is terrid. I run a a032 for a wet tyre on the MK because i just hate the 48 so much in anything but dry conditions. The ad08r is used as the world time attack control tyre which says a lot, it just depends on how long stints you do on track days as the r888s would wear much better in that regard.
  8. Ahh sorry to hear this mate. Everything is secondary to your health. Hope you have swift recovery! Been meaning to get private healthcare too. Has to be worth it!
  9. Interesting!! I guess so much of the weight is low down so although it is 2.5 tonne it still has a low centre of gravity. Would love to have a go of one but doubt they would let me. Nice that they are doing a very affordable one (Model 3 is it?) but again I think they are all sold before production begins!
  10. Hehe yeah the mx2000 is a right rocket! S2000 motor we are now fitting a HKS Supercharger too! Thing is going to be ballistic. Was crazy enough NA! The basics of the video show a massive improvement in rear end stability. Crazy effective! We were genuinely shocked on the day. Then looking back at datalogging we couldn't believe terminal speeds due to drag hadn't really been effected either! Few vids in the series but would love suggestions or ideas on stuff you would like covered? I know this forum is full of reall knowledgable guys and the information is far below what you guys would want. It's more aimed at people just getting into this hobby/curse .
  11. Yes butcher, friken know that well. Things normally take twice as long too . Like you said all self inflicted and we bloody love it really!! Thanks Sargara, Aye, some of the footage in the first clip was recorded quite low so to stop some bits being louder than others i just levelled it out. If i had more time i would have taken the whole clip, dropped it back into adobe premier and hightened all the levels (as you can only raise by 6db) but I just do what I can and whack it up without spending too long, 3hrs to put those clips together .
  12. A friend and I have started our own channel (nothing new or different i know as every wanabe car journo/driver has one now) that aims to shed light on real world applications, builds and progress along with advice to get into track days, basics, driving etc. One of the first videos in the series is this real world back to back test we did at Cadwell Park on his MX2000 with and without Voltex rear wing. The footage/results as you can see really speak for itself...
  13. Thanks for the advice re bushings, goin to be a busy few weeks! It always surprises me how much track car build/projects quickly escalate and eat away free time and money 😭 All part of it i guess haha! Finally got round to uploading the full Anglesey review and a little vid of just track footage...
  14. Thanks Kieran, means loads that. Dont have the time i would like to make them as good as i would like but do what i can . Haha yes It's a tricky one because its a sharp turn in and then runs wide/opens out which makes you think you could of gone fast, but you have to get it turned in. Also makes you wonder if its worth using all corner exit to come right over for the next offcamber corner (corkscrew). All great fun and good excuse to book another day there . Totally agree about the nbraking zone after school and just into rocket. The massive uphill makes your brakes feel like you have 12 pot 500mm AP brakes for that corner haha! Full review vid has been uploaded including all the Snowdonia footage https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=1s&v=cj1xNGUKjwc&spfreload=10
  15. Short Clip from Anglesey Track day last weekend. Will post the full review in a few days, lots more footage of the car @ct.willis on instagram ☺ï¸ðŸ‘
  16. All i know is people keep saying 'banana arms' lots haha! Yeah i will have a look and see which ones look important and get them done when the camber arms and teins go on... Might as well do it then! Sagara, thank you, yeah that kit looks mega, goodbye another grand haha!! Think i will try and just do the minimal/important ones (not that they are all not important). Ekona, butcher, love the velises. BRILLIANT cars and have nearly bought one on several occasions. Always wanted a k24 honda powered exige s1 style car. Would of bought a catD elise with a blown rover motor and then built it from ground up if i had the chance. Silly money these days. A friend Dan has had two vx220s recently. Both 2.2 with aftermarket chargers on and nitrons too. Mega bit of kit!
  17. Stupidly LUCKY! But we all need a bit of luck some times! Thanks re the vids . I don't have much time to put them together but I do what I can in the few hours i spend on the review vids. Just uploading the Anglesey full review which i am mega happy with. Will post it up once uploaded. Put this quick Blyton Second Shakedown vid and a Consumables vid up the other day>> Totally agree with how impressive they are. I think i tarred them with a 'heavy lard' brush but when you look at the weights of even things like the lotus Evora it really isn't a heavy car. Pretty much same power and weight as an M3 E46 and no one ever complains about them being heavy... the lightest M car at that point! Very good point regarding bushes, I actually mention this in the Anglesey review vid i am uploading as we started to get some odd vibration. Extremely impressed with the brakes for what they are, EBC orange stuff pads, ATE fluids, Brembo High Carbon discs, braided lines and rebuild calipers. Regarding Understeer, i am unsure whether it's just because I am used to a more aggressive and agile set up. I run massive camber on MX5 and MK, maybe I am asking too much, nothing camber arms and a good look over the bushings won't sort in time for Nur though!! Fast approaching now! Cant wait! Maybe another Blyton Benchmark day once the Teins and Camber items go on Will let you know what i make of the tyre pressure monitoring too! Look forward to seeing your progress mate, your car was the first build thread i read from page one to current state. Everything you have done is spot on and what i would love to do given a larger budget. A proper mech diff is a must i agree! I have said to myself i will do it if i still have the car at the end of the year in time for the winter track time 'season' as after Nur the 350 won't get any action as it's time for the MK to get some hammering haha! Still impressed with how for my 350 has come on in 3 months of ownership since i bought it completely oem haha.
  18. Glad you had a gooden! Oulton days in the wet can often be riddled with stoppages! Like you said about sighting laps, we had an E36 M3 spin off into barrier on the sighting laps back in December and a friends head gasket went on the sighting laps too on a 18 month old Fiesta. Felt bad as he had traveled all the way down from Newcastle . Sucks about the blue smoke, my old ITR did it on lift off and i just ignored it and made sure oil levels were always nice and high. Wasn't worth the costly rebuild for me. Love the steering wheel retrim too btw. Top stuff, seats look to be mounted really low which i love! Jut seen you are up the road in Mac, only in Alsager myself. During summer i am constantly up the Cat & Fiddle .
  19. Amazing weekend in the 350. Spent Saturday driving through Snowdonia in mixed conditions. Managed to finally get the drone out along with lot's of nice chase/follow footage which i will put up soon on IAG. Then Anglesey track day take 2 on Sunday! A very wet morning which allowed me to have some right fun getting reacquainted with some powersliding and skidding about as it had been a while! I hadn't got a chance to fit the Teins and the soft chassis really fought against me trying to gently transition the mass of the car between drifts etc. I wasn't to know at that point how lucky it was I hadn't fitted the shiny new dampers! The weather changed at lunch and saw the track really dry out fast so i started to knuckle down and try and set some clinical/clean faster laps... I was pushing hard, the car still plagued with understeer meaning i could find the limits of most corners safely and relatively easily. Front camber arms I now feel are essential to improve this, the front end really does wash out far too easily. We had seen many people fall off throughout the day. The grass was insanely waterlogged. When cars went off they were digging a foot into the mud, nasty stuff but that wasn't going to happen to me was it now hahaha....... As I pushed a little harder into the first corner i noticed a damp patch half way through the corner exit. This damp patch moved the car a foot further over to the right, it was at that point i realised if i keep my foot in I am going sailing across the grass. I back off, but it was too late. The rear outer wheel loaded up with the cars weight using most of it's grip soon lost all hope when i hit the grass and spat me off royally! I made peace with the fact I was going in the barrier very quickly.... massively surprised when it ended up spinning in line and coming to a stop 2 ft off impact!!! In hindsight I should of stopped trying to save the corner and focussed on saving the car. Straightening the wheel as i hit the grass may have made things a little less of a close call, but like Ekona said, that could of lead to a head on with a car on the opposite side of the track. It was such a fine margin and things happen fast! Luckily no damage, just a very filthy car! I am loving the 350z on track now though. The confidence it gives you is brilliant! Only complaints as previously said was body roll and poor front end turn in. Both of which will be cured when the Teins go on and front camber arms are purchased. Only other thing i am itching for is a proper mechanical diff, something like a 1.5 way Kaaz looks very good for the money. Factor in the rebuild kit, labour and chuck in a final drive because why not and you are talking nigh on 2k though. Even with that cost involved I think it would be a great package for the money invested in it! The brakes were ok. I didn't feel massive confidence in them but i wouldn't slate them either. Consistent though on longer stints. The only odd thing was a horrid brake judder that would come and go. Say on a ten lap stint, they would only judder between laps 3-6. Going to have to try and work that out! Also purchased a tyre pressure monitoring system for the car. As all i seem to play about with is dampers and tyre pressures it is nice to be able to adjust the dampers with the EDFC and monitor pressures in real time without having to get the gauge out after every stint. Will update with full vid in the next few days .
  20. Oooo! Yeah that would of been nasty! Just so thankful I was lazy and didn't fit the new Teins haha! The amount of thick mud was ridiculous!
  21. Yeah, it's a top track! Yeah just got on the power a little early. Had been pushing very hard to be fair and got most of the track optimised (to the best of my ability). That corner is one that tricks you into thinking you can go faster. Have run wide before in the summer and nothing bad happens but in the winter with so much water logged mud it spat me out big time haha! Love it, makes you feel alive!
  22. Will update with all the weekends fun later but for now how's about one of the closest moments I have had and some skidding about in the wet>>
  23. Oo would love to! Always up for a friendly battle ! Can't make it i am afriad, hava a rally day booked inn the MX5 on the 7th then 19th at Cadwell, then off to Nurburgring a few days after for 10 days so already using too much holiday days used and to be honest it's going to be an expensive month as it is haha!
