  1. As per above you can tuck it by hand, though a trim pry tool kit http://www.ebay.co.u...3D1183270243039 is always handy for tucking things away and a trim tool kit is just a super useful thing to have in your locker, and great value, beats the rag and screwdriver approach every time. What can you even buy for £1.89 these days!

I think for £1.89 that's worth a go haha I assume it's the same deal with the pillar as well - just jam it in?

  2. Depends which one you get. I've a Blackvue, stuck behind the rear view mirror and then I just run the cable in the headlining and down the a pillar trim, then under the dash and plugged into a 12v socket. That's how most people do it I think, you get a shed load of spare cable.

What model of Blackvue do you have and what's your opinion of it? The form factor of the Blackvue cameras seem really nice.

  3. In that case I'm off to throw my cats in the bin haha What test pipes do you have?

They're Japspeed, but all decats are the same, they're either silenced or not silenced, mine aren't.

Thanks, didn't know you could get silenced ones. Just one last thing, have you never had problems at the MOT with the tester noticing that the cats are physically missing even though it passes emissions?

  4. As I said earlier, you'll lose power as I experienced when mine broke, but also, it'll run lean. It will probably be fine running for a few days, but not more. I recently had a leak, many many many times smaller than what you're proposing and the AFR on was off the scale. Usually it'll run around 14-15, but the right bank wasn't even measurable by the gauges, it was that high. I removed the Y pipe and replaced the gaskets and added sealant which has 90% fixed the issue and brought the AFR back to a decent reading, but still not perfect. I can only imagine what it was before on my old Zed with the blow out.

    Kyle,

In my last MOT the testers could barely get a reading off my exhaust, and now I'm getting a o2 sensor CEL. Do you think that means I'm running lean, and could the two be related? How would you fix running lean? Cheers!

Honestly no idea mate. Did the tester mention it, or did you just notice it on the screen or printout?

They were standing around scratching their heads for ages during the test, a bunch of testers came over and were all looking at the car and the reader. They asked me to hold it at higher revs for a while and then finally moved on. I asked what was up, and they said they just struggled to get any reading. I asked if it was a problem and he just shrugged.

 I know my reading was very low, especially low for decats, but nothing was mentioned of it  If the car isn't sounding strange and/or you haven't fitted a load of breather mods like cone filters and plenum spacers, it shouldn't be running lean. I'm not sure if the possible faulty sensor could cause it to run lean or not. Have you figured out which one it is yet?

You were able to pass an MOT with test pipes?

    Yea, flawlessly passed emissions.

  6. jesus people look at the pictures... the 4 seater is a different car..hell it's even a different colour ( silver )

Sure it's not just wrapped matte black? It's silver in the engine bay too.

  7. That's great thanks, I'm not sure when my next opportunity to get photo's of the underneath will be unfortunately. The next I'm certain of would be at the end of the month when I'm getting an alignment done.

  8. When I bought my 350Z a couple of months ago it came with HFC already installed. Unfortunately the person selling did not know what brand they were and there doesn't seem to be any paperwork that came with the car that would suggest what they are.

When it was getting serviced I'd asked my mechanic to see if he could see any sort of branding on them but he said he couldn't see any but admitted he has no experience with modified parts so he could have missed something (unfortunately I couldn't be there to have a look myself).

I'm grasping at straws here but would there by any way of identifying them? Do the different brands look in any way distinct etc.?

  9. I noticed today when I parked that my gear knob seems twisted off to one side, when I went to twist it back it seems the shaft is moving with it (on second thought it could just be the material...). Is this a normal enough occurrence or is there an underlying problem?

Here's a quick video of what I mean.

  10. I was under the impression the washer reservoir holds approx. 10 litres? My washers stopped working last night, you could hear the motor working but nothing happened. Brimmed the washer reservoir this morning and they work fine. Sorry I can't be of much help.

  11. Various posts across the internet quote 1bhp per year - but hey the internet isn't always right ;)

If its has been poorly serviced, ragged, stuck in a bubble in a lock up, wrong fuel, bad oil etc etc will all have an effect on the engine performance over time - the question is unfortunately I think one that drops into this category unless someone has some great insights...

Thanks, that's pretty much what I was curious about.
