  1. First problem for my Zed. Came to open the boot to put the shopping in and the button won't budge and the boot/tailgate will not open? Had a search of forum but can't see a thread? I tried pulling on the release under the big strut in the back but it wouldn't move? When I press the unlock on the key fob, there isn't a click or anything from the boot mechanism? Cheers AL
  2. I got it at last. So Mods can change my status from wannabe to Newbie. Nice drive back from Leicester, took it easy. Getting used to the gear box.
  3. Nice FTO, always like the look of them. Welcome :-)
  4. Welcome and good luck with finding your dream car Your definitely in the right place to learn about Zeds.
  5. More delay in getting my Zed. It seems the syncro mesh has gone and it has been handed over to a gear box specialist. After reading that syncro can go as early as 20 or 30K miles it doesn't seem so surprising to go at 51K. But I hope its not an indication that the car has been thrashed?
  6. Hello and welcome. I believe the gear box issue has been sorted out on the 06 onwards models. That said I just bought a 35 plate (2004),with 51k miles, geting it t'moz :-) and the gear box is very smooth.
  7. Does low coolant in the header tank mean there is a leak somewhere or does the 350Z use a certain amount of coolant every X amount of miles? Cheers AL
  8. P.S, mine has done 51K miles with full sevice history. heard that 54K is a big service and £500 (at time of the post).
  9. Hello and welcome. getting my Orange 04 on Tuesday :-) Exiting stuff.
  10. Yes, there are a couple of belts, it is the lower one to the right. It looked cracked.
  11. I P/Xed my TT for a 350Z which they are changing a timing belt on so will pick it up Tuesday probably. Just wondered if anyone on here is familiar with the car. Its Sunset Orange ET53 DTX. It was low on coolant when I inspected it , but they put it up on the ramp and got it upto temp and couldn't see any leaks? I read in the guide about air blocks in refilling coolant rad/tank. I'm assuming it is this. It is standard apart from a KnN filter which I will have to declare on the insurance transfer. Cheers AL
  12. Thanks folks, I read the newbie guide. Hopefully the car will be as good as it looks in the pics on the RAC website. Cheers AL
  13. Thanks you for your help. I'm glad about the Air Con. Hope the car turns out to be a good one! Cheers AL
  14. Hi, I'm going to look at a 350z on Friday, not a GT but I'm not bothered about cruise etc.Thought would mis the air con. Car has only 51k on the clock which must be one of the lowest about. Cheers AL
  15. Hi folks, sorry I haven't read the whole thread I was searching for "cigarette lighter" and noticed this. I'm an alcoholic and have been dry for 4 1/2 years now since doing a course through Addaction called Intuitive Recovery. If you really want to stop, do this course. Good Luck AL
  16. Hi, and thank you Z Legend, oh yes, very familiar with the TT Forum and has saved me loads of hassle and money. "Zeditis" lol, I like it.
  17. Mine has the usual problems, wonky temp and fuel gauge, need pod sending off at £120 and no car for 3 or 4 days, plus the door micro switch witch I mended twice and it still doesn't work. headlight washers of course, but apart from that I've enjoyed my 3 years with it. Some call it a hairdressers car or not even a sports car? But at 225 BHP, mines stage 1 remap so maybe 250 BHP and 4WD it certainly moves and sticks to the road round bends,
  18. Thanks to everyone for their greetings and useful comments. Yes if I can get an 06 HR within my budget I will. Cheers AL
  19. I'm sure I will save loads from tips on here. On the TT forum I saved about £200 in locksmith fees and new key cutting, simply by a little knowledge, a flat head screwdriver and 2 minutes fiddling. Cheers
  20. Yes I see your point. £200 not that much when spending so much on a car. As for how much depends on whether I get one sooner or wait a year and have an extra couple of grand to spend.
  21. Hi, I've hade a Mk1 TT for nealry 3 years and its been great but now I have an itch, at first I was wanting an SLK 350 and still think they are a great looking motor, but I finally settled on the 350z for my next car. So I've watched the review vids and read about some of the regular faults to look for (nothing new to me after having the TT which has numerous "common" faults.) Will be going for a pre 2006 as I don't fancy paying £200 more in road tax. So hello folks AL
