  1. I haven't tried the onboard HDD - iirc you have to load it by feeding the CDs, rather than being able to transfer stuff off a stick, However, I'm trying to remember something I read a year ago, before very quickly deciding on going the iPod route, so I could be talking out my ......
  2. I'm using an old iPod Nano I had lying around from the days when I was a 'Hip Dude' An issue I found with just a USB stick was the headunit didn't sort the songs by the folder structure on the stick, just presenting you with an endless list of ALL your songs with no easy way to search for something in particular. If you know that you're only ever going to set it to shuffle and leave it, then a USB stick is fine - otherwise it turns into a massive ball-ache when you want to find that perfect rockin' track to blast too.
  3. Drivers rear has developed a slow leak, so this has gotten top priority now! Other thing, will a regular tyre place change (or even know to have to change) the valve stems for the TPMS? Or will I have to make a point of telling them? Are they universal parts, or Nissan specific? FYI - This is my first car sophisticated enough to have TPMS, so be kind
  4. I don't want stretch. Ideally it would be vertical sidewalls.
  5. So, its coming to that time and I'm looking two makes - MPSS or F1 Asymetric 3. Now I know i could just go for the standard fitment 245/40/19 fronts and 275/35/19 rears, BUT ... as I don't like the look of the stretch that the factory Bridgestone's have, I am considering some wider fitments. Yes, I know I am opening myself up for some 'go for function over looks' vehemence (Ekona, down boy ) but I figure going for either the Michelin's or Goodyear's is a step up from the Bridgestone's anyway. To continue my dilemma - The issue is, I have never seen the MPSS or F1s in the standard fitment to compare whether they looked stretched or not. Therefore, please would you awesome ppl post images of your MPSS and F1s in the standard fitment, to show what the sidewall looks like - for both front and rear. Also, those that have gone for wider, I'm interested in what those look like too. So, please post your pics with details of what make and fitment you have. Cheers all Draco
  6. I've noticed that in cold weather the factory Bridgestone front tyres have a tendency to 'crab' on tight turning, making a low frequency noise I can only describe as 'crumping' Does this sound like the sound you're getting?
  7. @marzman :- Reading about you experience of Eve Valkyrie has reminded me of the amazing promos they put out for it. Really highlighted the scale of the ships from the Eve universe, even in the 'old world' 2D visuals! Going to have to re-watch them now Also, something big is happening in Eve that might tempt me to put my cloned foot back in the water - Eve Online is going Free to Play as of November. It will have a level limit access for the free players (restricted to fly only certain ship levels and use certain module levels), with the subscriber access remaining the same. For more info, check out the developer blog on the community site - Introducing-clone-states-and-the-future-of-access-to-Eve-Online This seriously peeked my interest, as it will give me time to find a good corp, without having to fork over a full sub.
  8. Ta! Standard for now, but I have all sorts of mods rattling around my mind - exhaust and filters of course, but also bigger stuff, like split rear wing, extended side sills, and most ambitious some headlight butchery to relocate the indicator lamps and reduce the 'Chelsea facelift' look of the light clusters!
  9. Big props to the guys for another smooth service and MoT. Been going to these guys for 7 years now with my now ex 200SX and, despite suffering genuine separation anxiety when I don't have my car, I always know these guys are the best hands for my pride and joy. So, when it came to having the first MoT for my new 370 I had no hesitation taking it down the farm track, rather than into the hands of the Nissan dealer network - despite having a Nissan garage 1/2mile from work and having to sacrifice my Saturday lay-in to get it there Only a small delay waiting for a Nissan parts delivery, but still finished when I was told it would be and kept up to date and re-assured, even when I was calling almost twice an hour in my neurotic desperation to get back into my glorious beast. These guys are so good, just the everyday intervention of a service seems to have sorted the fluctuating oil temps I was having in the couple of weeks prior! So, my thanks and best regards to all, for keeping one of the most stressful times of the year for me as calm as you do. Draco
  10. From what's been said it looks like I don't need to worry. Would seem 'normal temps' are a characteristic of the particular car Thanks for the responses! The cooler will just have to go further down the mod list for when I decide to go for some more power!
  11. OR - How to know when you need to fit an oil cooler? So, I was out yesterday for a bit of weekend driving and noticed the oil temperature was kinda high (by my guess) peaking at 98degC following some 'spirited' overtaking. Today I was out doing a drying off run after washing the car and pushing the car up to the line in the low gears, where it peaked at 108degC. Concerned, I took an extra 20mins or so gently cruising home to get it to cool off, but only managed to get it to just above 100degC, where it stayed even after a further 10mins sitting idling on the driveway. On previous runs I have noticed the car runs hotter oil in manual shift than when in auto, but todays 108 is the highest I've seen it. The water temperature gauge was two lights down from centre the whole time and the car runs at around 92degC during everyday commuting @ 30-40mph. Can anyone say what the normal running temps should be for everyday (commuting) and for weekend runs? '13 370 GT Auto
  12. So, I've had my 370 GT Auto in Black Rose for nearly a year now and been on here for a little while longer, following builds and upgrade advice. Definitely enjoying the Z, but I will admit, after owning a Stage 1 200SX for 6 years, it took me a while to adjust! However, I'm now very happy with the Z and revelled in introducing it to my weekend driving roads this summer I've also been resisting the modding bug that I enjoyed with my 200, but the time has definitely come for a new exhaust and intakes to enhance the glorious sound of a V6 at full chat! I'm looking forward to lurking here some more and getting hooked once again into the never-ending draw of modding these beautiful machines. Draco

    wider rear tyres

Jumping on the end of this - I was looking at getting some wider tyres all round, as I don't like the stretched look of the standard sizes on the GT 19" Rays. So I'd like to get a guru's opinion on going for 265 or 275 on the front, with 305 or 315 on the rear. I'd like to know if increasing both front and rear widths will compensate for the induced under-steer discussed above - and (more importantly !) will these sizes give me vertical side walls. Anyone that has gone wider like this, if you have pics so I can get an idea of how different widths angles the sidewall, that'd be great!
