The connectors can be a PITA to remove
O...M...G... are they a PITA! I tried for ageeees until my friend came along and did it in under a minute per side. Made me feel like an idiot
Out of the stuff I've personally done, that connector, the connector under the trim by the handbrake and the white clips for the rear bumper have been the worst!
Oh and if it's a pre-facelift 350z you're talking about, I'm pretty sure it's 3 4 bolts - 2 from the front of the car, 1 from the side and 1 on top. As veeg33 said though, looking at your new headlights should give you the answer.

only coz I clicked on his link to his photobucket account and saw something that suggests that's what's underneath. Could by a 370z Nismo with a badly wrapped cloth finish.

I want to also point out that with my kit it looks like there is an improved connector/plug.
The one that looks like it doesn't click in properly is now a black plug and it connected perfectly to the cars harness. í ½í±
Good to hear improvements have been made

Glad to hear you got it sorted

Just about to install this....there is an extra red wire on the control box that doesn't seem tonbe covered in the install....for reverse or something?!
What have people done with this?
I'm afraid I have no idea. It's been a while since I installed it, but if it's not in the guide I assume mine didn't have it.
Is there nothing in the instructions?

Seriously... what the hell is wrong with some people...

Dibs on passenger side carbon one please! PMing now

Kid you got mad skills, I'd take a headlamp apart to that degree and it would never work again lol
Cheers man Although I put it down to having a bit of an OTT personality + trial and error + doing a TON of Googling!
There's still a lot of potential issues that I can think of, but I have no idea if it's an issue I need to address etc... so I guess I'll leave it for now and sort if/when needed.

Been ages since I've updated this thread, but I have been working away very hard (for a noob!).
Although I'll post proper updates later once it's done, but here's a list of things I've been working on:
- Painting headlight housing satin black
- Completely stripping the wiring as it's a mess
- Replaced the old HIDs with new eBay specials. May look into upgrading the projector housing and get a proper set of HIDs in the future. Waaaay in the future as I've now been working on these since April (?) so I'm a bit sick of them!
- Replaced the halos with COB LEDs
- Adding PWM to the halos so that I can dim them when the low beam is on, i.e. it's dark
- Adding demon eyes
- Decided rather than having the halos + 5 "spider eye" looking LEDs, I'd replace the latter with sequential indicators
Some pics and videos for a sneaky peaky
Bought some stuff:

Found out about Arduino clones - size comparison (bottom left vs red board):

I use a clay mitt as well. Went for the Farecla G3 mitt as it seemed to have good reviews and was easily to get from Halfrauds.
I found it a bit unnerving at first, but works well and as coldel said, much faster

Might be worth mentioning how much you're selling for?

Sure, although do you mind letting me know how it should differ (maybe post an example)? Sorry, I'm a bit clueless about paint colours. I thought dark graphite is pretty much the same as anthracite!
