  1. Yes thats along the lines of the lights on my car. Think the one in the pic has got the halos which mine hasn't. Im just hoping that they are plug and play units so the loom hasn't been attacked. Well once i find some and get them fitted etc the others will be up for sail along with the chrome rear lights if your interested.

Yeah I'd be interested. Let me know - I'll keep an eye out for your sales thread as well.

Also, I doubt they would have messed around with the car-side harness. From what I've seen, these are meant to be plug 'n play. Mine were plug 'n play, but the previous owner had cut off the OEM headlight connector and plonked it on these. Not sure why

  2. Please can you put some narrow whitewalls on this:

Sure, I'm going away tomorrow but I should be able to do that next week. :)

Mind clarifying what you mean by white walls though? Sorry I'm still quite new to the car scene so not sure what you meant!! Does it mean like white side walls of the tyre? Or the outer edge of the rim like StevoD's request?

  3. So... I had a go at this yesterday. I lifted the bonnet about 10cm (at the front) then blasted some compressed air in there (at the hinge) in an attempt to dislodge anything that may be stuck. That didn't work so I sprayed some WD-40 as well and left it overnight.

Today I tried again after work, but it didn't feel much better. I tried a different method by lifting it, dropping it slightly and then lifting it up again. I did this repeatedly (gently!) and it slowly lifted up until I managed to lift it enough to use the bonnet support rod. I then sprayed some WD-40 Specialist White Lithium Grease on it and wiggled it up and down some more.

It feels fine again now, phew!

Thanks again for your input guys. Much appreciated! :)

  4. Perhaps something got stuck in there when you had it open?

That was my thought too. Hard to check without forcing it open more though!

I guess blasting it with WD-40 may dislodge whatever's in there.

Cheers for the input. I'll give it a go in the next few days and report back! :)

  5. Thanks for the input guys. :)

I don't have aftermarket struts, just the stock support rod thing.

I think I can lift it enough so that I can spray it with something in there. I'm thinking WD-40 to start, then if/once it opens, I can use something else that'll last longer. Does that sound like a plan?

  6. Hi guys,

So today I was waiting for the wife to come back (she needed a lift) so I thought I'd take the time to top up my wind screen wash. When I went to close/lower the bonnet I noticed that the bonnet stayed up right even without the support rod (is that the name?).

I thought it strange so I gently pushed down and closed the bonnet. I then tried to open the bonnet again to check everything's ok, but there's definitely some resistance that wasn't previously there. I didn't want to force it so after (gently) trying a few times, I decided to just close it fully and do some research first.

In retrospect, it would have been good to take a look around while it was stuck in the upright position, but heigh ho. :surrender:

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone had experienced this before? The release mechanism itself is fine - it just feels like there's something preventing the bonnet from going up on its hinges.

Any input would be appreciated. Wasn't sure what to search for!

    Cheers,

    Hodaka

  7. Woah, sudden activity on my dormant thread! Thanks for the comments! :D

Got loads of things I'm working on and will update again once I actually finish! The headlight has been opened up again as I decided I wasn't happy with the projectors themselves, so now working on retrofitting some cheap but decent HID projectors. Starting to wonder if I'll ever see these on my car though as I just keep changing my mind about everything!

Got the same spoiler delivered today. Did you attach it yourself, just wondering if its a one man job.

I got my garage to do it so I can't help you there I'm afraid! The spoiler looks great though, you'll be very pleased no doubt

  8. I'm less sure about these so I'll just post shorter snippets:
