Seen at lunch time today driving opposite direction. Both noticed each other (obviously!). Are you on here? Also I think my brother saw you at the weekend in Brighton but I thought he was just pulling my leg

Piston Heads Sunday Service Goodwood (14th Dec)
terry06 replied to terry06's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
Just had a look through the list of cars attending and there's some nice motors going. I counted 7, possibly 8 350's No 370's though Reserve list has over 70 cars too so should be a good turn out even if a lot of people drop out -

Can't use trade card, I tried! My parents got me one for xmas too Now I can't blame not being able to do something on my old crappy tools though -
I have always liked them anyway but seeing yours on the way to work a few times confirmed that i wanted one. They are a bit different to the usual bmw/audi/mercs everyone i know seems to have or want Hope to see you guys around soon!
-
I saw you too late to put my hand up, i wasn't blanking you intentionally lol. Your car was one of the reasons i looked at 350's after seeing it quite often. Sure I'll see you soon, I'll be using the zed for work quite alot in the next few weeks!

New member, not a 350z owner...yet

I love my standard 350, it is a great car. I haven't had the chance to drive it 'properly' yet but it does put a smile on my face (mainly the noise) I have no idea what a supercharged zed would be like but I can imagine it would be But in terms of 'fun' on the road I have to say my Saxo VTS gives the 350 a run for its money. The fact that you are driving around in a French tin that ways as much as a paper bag (and built like one) and you can get close to the limit at sensible speeds is great. I'm sure you know what I mean having a 205, although yours sounds a bit of a beast. What have you got in it, 16v turbo? Anyway, what I'm trying to say is the 350z is a great car but it depends on your expectations as to whether you'll like it more than your current motors, it's a completely different beast -
Got a wave from the driver of a black 350z roadster this morning on the way to work by the red lion pub. I noticed too late to wave back. Seen you on the morning run a few times when I have been driving the Saxo but first time I've seen you in the zed. Anyone on here?

Piston Heads Sunday Service Goodwood (14th Dec)
terry06 replied to terry06's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
The Aston Martin one sounds really cool and I have read a bit and seen some pics of the MB World one but I'm a bit unsure what to expect from Goodwood. No museum etc to show us around so guessing it will be more like the breakfast club meets They are combining it with a track day on the Saturday which would be good but I'm too chicken to take the zed on track just yet -
Congrats. Maybe your luck is changing!
-
Never been to a PH meet before and its in the middle of December so don't know what to expect but have put my name down anyway I see there's at least 1 other 350 on the entrants list so far, anyone on here? Anyone else going? For those interested you have to put your name down on the list to get in Information here: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=31212
-
Shame to see you're selling, I would have loved to seen it at some meets. GLWTS - make sure it goes to a good home!
-
No didn't see the flash, only noticed you last second. Looked nice from what i did see ðŸ‘
-
Saw a gunmetal HR waiting to go round the roundabout by the pier yesterday evening at about half 6 I went round down to madeira drive in my yellow GT4 Anyone on here?
-
They do indeed, but seem quite hard to come by. All 106/saxo boxes will fit, it's just the ratio's that are different. Since the saxo is supposed to be my daily I have decided to just risk a 2nd hand box from a VTR (despite the looooong ratio's) to get it back on the road and avoid using the zed in this crappy weather
-
So did anyone go? How was it?
-
They do exist, and as you'd expect it's a bit Maxpower! The suggestions on there pretty much revolve around: "stick a 1.1 box on it m8, shorter ratio's for better 0-60 init" Although there are some good guys and cars on there it has to be said, especially the track guys
-
That's what I'm saying. I am just unsure on whether these reconditioned gearbox places provide you with another gearbox or do they take your existing one and recondition that? (Obviously in my case that is not possible ) Will try ringing a few up in my lunch break, just thought I would ask on here for any recommendations on decent companies
-
Thanks will try them, from what I have found it should cost ~£350 but not sure whether that's for a box or whether that's for them to recondition my existing box (in which case I don't think it's possible since it has a big hole in the side!) 2nd hand box may be my only choice
-
I see what you're saying but finding a box is proving to be harder than expected, I know I can fit one from any Saxo but want the correct ratio's for the VTS. There's a couple about but going for ~£100 and I have had friends who have got 2nd hand boxes that lasted only a couple of months. So for the price of 2-3 2nd hand boxes a re-con seems to make a bit more sense
-
Hi guys my daily driver (Saxo VTS) decided that it no longer wants one of its cogs, chewed it up and spat it through the casing! My question is can any of you recommended a decent place to get a reconditioned gearbox? I have considered getting a used one but unless you see it on another car you don't really know what you're getting until you fit it
-
This will be the next thing i do to my GT4 too, looks great
