I don't know if the reservoir needs to be relocated. Check out the pics below, they were sent to me by another AAM TT customer who relocated the intakes to that area in the front bumper.

Thx for the pictures. Will keep this option in mind.

    Hi René,

    Red is anodised AN2.

Calipers are the same sizes, 8 and 6 pot. Logo will be engraved in, no colour.

Thanks for confirmation. AN15 must be a lot darker red then. The AN2 ought to match my red mirrors best i believe :p

Comparing @evilscorp's Monster 8-pot with @bakseedaa's Xtreme 8-pot, you say the calipers are the same in size, and perhaps radius? Only the disc is 25mm larger?

Also, is the Xtreme caliper triangluar in shape or is it just the angle the photo was taken?

I presume, the Monster just comes in white logo, the Xtreme in black logo, by default?

    2017-10-02_15-46-49.jpeg&key=638cfac6b6f0fcdf9bd994f5d0c3ac8c38730c753c8ccec77d0897443c6ebaaafd5a9c4a398cc3a456517599e1b95889.jpg&key=b9996339c126be773b1a9ecb7b589b6ba5c51f36ae41a807f7c4623519052d98

  3. Ah OK, I can see clearly now.

Did you discuss with them or did they mention anything at all about relocating the intakes to the front bumper or anywhere else out of the bay?

Yes, it could be custom option in the future. But we left it like this for the time being to get the install finished at long last. I can see how the intake pipes extend to either side down into the spaces in front of the wheel well. On the driver side, the washer reservoir would need relocating, though.

  4. Hi Adrian, are all red calipers shown here (i.e. John's, Paul's etc) anodized color 2 or 15? Judging your 1st post, it's color AN2?

And in the Monster vs Xtreme kits, are the calipers physically larger or not, since they are both 8/6 pot? Some pics from @bakseedaa would be nice :)

Thirdly, how can one specify Torqen logo colour white or black?

    Cheers!

    Hey V1H,

did H-DEV relocate the intakes to the front of the car? I can't seem to tell from the pics.

H-Dev had to raise them higher up but they're still sitting - somewhat unfortunately - inside the engine bay. See this photo.Intakes.jpg

Think the brakes would look good the same colour as the mirrors

    I know, I know

My dream brake kit is the Torqen Monster or Xtreme Big Brake Kit in red anodised finish (AN2) to match the mirrors.

But I haven't got the money for it and won't for another 2 yrs, I'm afraid.

  9. Had a brief opportunity to drive down to Tesco, yesterday, while the roads were dry and I was home alone for a moment :drive1

The in-car sound appears muffled compared to reality, my iPhone's microphone is only so good, but you still get an impression. Had to drive carefully as it was 5°C and the salt powder on the roads don't help my grip. ;)

  10. I drove my car home on Thursday and OMG.. I cannot begin to describe the transformation. I do not recognise my Z! It's utter savage, especially considering I have been driving an Astra 1.4L for the past 4.5 months.
I drove off still in the wet, on a straight road in 4th at 60mph I tiped the gas pedal a bit and the rear broke momentarily loose only for the T/C to safe my arse. Later down the journey, while all roads fully dried up, on the motorway I pulled out of a 50mph zone in 3rd and again spun the rear wheels. A BMW M6 right behind me could barely keep up! icon17.gif

I still am digesting what animal H-Dev have bred in their shed, I totally love my ride, any more power would currently be not healthy for myself.

I severely need better rear tyres (305/30R20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S), barring current lack of funds tongue.gif

Can't thank enough AAM, Torqen, H-Dev for the realisation of my dreams, despite nearly 3 yrs in the making biggthumpup.gif

  11. The build is complete! I am going to collect my Z tomorrow :teeth:
Feels surreal that the time has finally come after 4.5 months at H-Dev
    Here are some numbers:

    DYNO
    DynoDynamics in shootout mode
    correction method fixed to ATMC2

    DRIVEBILITY
Stock Torque exceeded at 2000 rpm.
    400 ft-lb (542 Nm) available @ 2800-6600 rpm

    PEAK VALUES
    Flywheel

    501 bhp (508 PS) @ 6600 rpm @ 5.8 psi (0.40 bar)
    435 ft-lb (590 Nm) @ 4200 rpm @ 7.0 psi (0.48 bar)

    Rear Wheel
    422 whp @ 6600 rpm @ 5.8 psi (0.40 bar)
    367 ft-lb @ 4200 rpm @ 7.0 psi (0.48 bar)

More boost caused Jez having to retard timing to prevent knock which is why more boost did very little more power, hence, we stick to this pretty low boost. The TT kit appears exceptionally efficient, IMHO, needing so little psi to get going.

    In simple terms:
55% horsepower gain over stock at 40% intake pressure over atmosphere.
59% torque gain over stock at 48% intake pressure over atmosphere.

Of course it’s also the exhaust allowing for that better than 1:1 ratio

Given that this is about half the torque of a 1st Gen Veyron (590 vs 1200 Nm) I am going to properly poop myself when I will be driving it home (4hr drive) :scare:

    Already planned! :)

I just had my brand new rims delivered last Friday: 20" BC Forged RS45 in Chrome Black (F: 9.5J  R:11.0J)

which I am planning to dress with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (F:265/35  R:305/30)

Is the car back with you yet mate

No m8, Adrian was seeing it at H-Dev on Friday and made a picture of my 'modified' front bumper (hardly noticable, prfessionally done), so that's the final hurdle behind us. It can now only be a couple of days still. The H-Dev badge is gonna go into the engine bay, and road test drive needs to be performed.

    5152.JPG

    5155.jpg

    5171.JPG

  14. We have encountered a final hurdle, which may only concern me with my Amuse kit. The front bumper was about to be reinstalled. But the Amuse bumper with its curved under-tray interferes with the lower boost pipes. Below photos show the issues on the passender (left) and driver side (right)

    280.jpg

In order not to stress the fibre glass bumper, H-Dev will modify the under-tray to give enough clearance for the pipes. The raised black sections need to be remoulded and lowered slightly. This should give an OEM-like professional look.

    281.jpg

  15. At the end of last week the car was on the dyno twice, and made 500 bhp at 8 psi.

8 psi was originally my self-imposed upper boost limit to retain reliability and longevity. Jez agreed with me to leave it at that for the time being. So that's probably what it's gonna be.

A mild tune of 500 bhp that would be plenty for daily driving IMHO. I am quite happy with that achievement B)

I will hear more, and get a dyno sheet, once everything is finished.

    What's that plug for ?

Please refer to my previous post #126 ;)

    She's alive!
The install is now completed, first leak checks passed. The car is idling happily.

ECU mapping could potentially start later today, or very soon, as Jez is again giving Tuning training all week.
