  2. I feel your pain.... the same thing happened to me earlier this year. I overtook a van doing approx 40mph in a 60mph road. The van then decided to overtake the car infront without looking behind. Again a long straight road without a single car in sight coming the other way. Fortunately for me the damage was on the rear wing only and cost about £500 to repair.... I hope you get yours sorted without too much pain and aggro!
  3. Surprise surprise they still don't give a f*ck about supplying good quality cars! Just a quick deal and bare minimum to get the cars out. Horrible people!
  4. DO NOT BUY FROM J17. The most disgusting 350Z dealer out there. This car may look pretty and the website might look nice and showy with the Lambos etc but I bet there is something wrong with it or at least it's definitely not a £12K car! I regret buying from them and wish I could just drive my Z up Jamie Lunis and Leonie Bacon's backsides. They are a dodgy business stay well away!!! Rant over
  5. Tyre pressures, alignment, decent tyres, respectful of the right pedal!
  6. I noticed a leak in my Z last winter. It only occurred when the car was sat on my driveway. Around the spare wheel the boot would collect water and the drivers footwell would also get damp. A long story short.... my driveway is sloped... When I park my car with the boot higher than the front water collects under the rear light buckets and makes its way through the grommet into the boot and eventually into the driver's footwell. So now I park facing up the drive! My car has been bone dry for a month now.
  7. Really sorry to see this. Unfortunately it happens all too often all because people follow too close. It's looking like it's a write off unfortunately. I hope you find a decent replacement.
  8. When I catch up to a gritter on the motorway I always wait till the next junction to pass. A quick blip up and down the slip road and I'm usually in front.
  9. Thanks for the replies everyone. I've heard good things about TGM but it is quite far for me to travel and wait about. South Coast Workshop is only 5 mins from my work . I think I will give South Coast a try this time. Looking at Facebook they look like a very competent garage.
  10. As per the the title.... I have a big service coming up and really struggling to find someone to service my car that I can trust and rely on..... I had a minor service at Smile in Hilsea last year but worried about a big service with them. Please help. David
  11. I bought one a few weeks back...... never had a fogged up screen since. Happy days!
  12. Thanks guys! That gives me some options!
  13. Hi all! Can someone please recommend me a suitable paint for my brake discs? Obviously I won't be painting the braking surface!
  14. All MG's and Rovers should be crushed. So glad Rover went out of business. Sorry if that offends anyone!
  15. Right I have managed the otherside. No problems at all.
  16. Haha yes everyone loves the Z handbrake. Mine works ok, but I still leave it in gear!
  17. Haha yes the handbrake is off and working correctly. It's all adjusted as loose as it will go. Just hard getting the disc back over the parking brake shoes.
  18. Hello fellow Z fans! I'm having trouble removing and refitting new rear disc over the parking brake shoes. I managed to do one side last night. I was particularly difficult to fit the new disc over the shoes. I have wound the adjust right in to help give me some more clearance but still it so difficult. I hope to have the otherside complete this evening. Can anyone tell me if there is a trick to it? I do apologies if this has already been covered. I have a search but couldnt really find anything. Thanks!
  19. I'm sorry dude. I know you have received some stick for this but clearly you have learnt your lesson with no injuries etc. I've been lucky and just had a few near misses when I've run out of talent and learnt my lesson. I always drive with the TC on unless I'm on a trackday with big run offs etc. Anyway hope you find a new Z soon.
  20. Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems they still don't want to learn how to sell cars fairly with good service even after they are well aware of the problems 350Z owners have had with them. When you see the website and type of cars they sell, you expect to be purchasing the best cars in the country but it seems they want to operate like a 'dodgy' back street dealer.
  21. What are you trying to carry? I use a Seasucker to carry my bike on my Z.
  22. Wow this post is still going. Without sharing good or bad experiences companies won't improve their service and others will fall into the same trap I did.
  23. I've trackday'd both my 350Z and my father's 2008 Cayman S. Yes the Nissan is faster on the straights in acceleration and top end. The Porsche is more balanced around corners and a little better on the brakes.
