  11. Right after 18 months of owning my Zed thought I would start a build thread on my pride and joy. It all started on May 15th 2014 I purchased a standard 2005 JDM Zed in sunset orange, 46k miles on the clock with a set of 18" Rota GTR's, imported to the UK in 2007. First things i done to her were, -Straight in for a full service. -New rear brake discs and pads. At 21 I came from owning a 1.2 2008 punto to a 3.5 v6 MONSTER so obviously was very cautious to start with. I have never modified any of my previous cars but I got Z and got hooked straight away. First thing to change was the disgusting silver aerial that the previous owner had on the car so i swapped to a stubby like most of us have done.I changed my single Din head unit to a double din Sony one which is awesome. My interior plastics were quite scratched to i decided to have my engine bay plastics and interior platics hydrodipped in gold carbon however i wasn't happy with the centre console in the picture below as the weave was wavey and also in the right hand corner of the headunit it started bubbling so it has been redone in silver carbon now. Soooo role on about 2 days without touching the car I decided I didn't like the standard silver badges on the car and choose to swap them over with black badges which I purchased from the forum. I believe a few days later a large box turned up from team tarmac with my JDM diffuser so i got down to fitting that. I purchased a conduit set from ebay so cover the hoses in the engine bay and also a black slam panel so over a weekend I painted the cover surrounds and filler caps and started styling up the engine bay and it turned out like this. After being completly lazy and taking my car to a hand car wash they thought it would be funny to completely strip the paint off my bumper with a wash down gun so i brought a new bumper with a carbon air intake. Few pics of the clean car Now we roll on a few months and I decide I want to change my exhaust so a K1 japspeed popped up on the forum so i brought it and it was on the car the same day it turned up. I had my first meet and greet around october 2014 and met TimC and Gumpy along with alex who no longer owns his Zed and it was awesome meeting people who shared the same passion of there car as me. So over the new year into 2015 my car was under 53000 so i had the major service done with all belts changed, oil drained, plugs, gearbox oil changed, spark plugs and all other items included in the major service. Along with this i had a rear passenger caliper and discs changed. Once the weather picked up time to start modding again I got a summit strut brace and fitted a JWT pop charger onto the Zed. Time to get a new knob as mine had lots of miles and seen some better times so i invested in a genuine nismo duracon knob. Sorry about the grubby picture the lense on my camera was all scratched. Its now summer 2015 and I had met some new people and we all met up and took a drive down to an old airbase in norfolk for a car show on a beautiful sunny august sunday. September 2015 i travelled down to Kent to see my old dear via a quick detour to go and meet Dunks and his BEAUTIFUL sunset Zed that was Un-supercharged at the time, we had a chat and I left with another new bumper including a lip and carbon duct. Soo we are now onto the last couple of mods for 2015 i brought a set of black mirrors and had a spare set of door handles painted in gloss black. XMAS 2015 Well thats me and my lovely lady so far, no doubt i have missed loads out which i will keep on adding. I have a Torqen undertray left to fit and I am picking up a set of Rays Refurbed in anthracite tomorrow so watch this space .
  12. I didnt think it was otherwise the new samco one would have a connection for it.
  13. Mudman if you look where your plenum connects to the throttle body there is a hole under where the bolt connects into. I can see this bugging the life out of me now!
  14. I havent got a clue mate maybe, i cant see it being there by mistake in that position is it fits in that recess perfectly and the correct shape to fit alongside the intake. Ill send mudman a message as i think he has a samco intake and his is a jdm.
  15. I havent connected it there its has been like that for the last 18 months connected on the plenum to the original intake hose. I found one the same on google images. there are a lot of aftermarket intakes on 350z's on google images and the have the hole for this on top of the plenum underneath the throttle body.
  16. The samco would only go one way as there is a pipe on the engine bay that fits into a connection on the underside of the samco intake tube, that pipe is blank one end where it attaches to the plenum and open where it connects to the intake hopefully someone will shed some light on it.
  17. I am getting a part of my front lip wrapped on thursday as stone chips has made the paint flake away, when i was at the place i asked out of curiosity how much a roof would cost to wrap which was £120 but a roof is near enough smooth so i would say £300 is about right
  18. Must be common over time i imaginr mine are not bad but i do think the drivers side motor is on its way out as the passenger side is a lot quicker. £100 for the glass doesnt seem bad at all!
  19. I was thinking of getting my Rota's refurbed in bronze and the choose against it, got a set of anthracite rays im picking up tomorrow to use during the next few cold months so will have a while to think what colour i want them refurbed in
  20. Gumpy has a top secret diffuser i believe, Im meeting him tomorrow if you like ill ask him how he got it on.
  21. Looks very good bud, im getting the middle half of my splitter wrapped in black as stone chips have made the paint flick up and peel.
