  1. Fit the stubby and see the difference. Worth a try for £13. Zippypooz refused but when I got one for him and fitted it two weeks ago he completely agreed with me and wondered why he didnt do it sooner. Do it....

Well if you are offering to buy me one who am I to say no . . . lol ;) . . . I may get one, or get rid of it completetly and just put a DAB internally. Looks even cleaner then.

  2. looks great and very different. You desperatly need a stubby though buddy..Get rid of the bumper car aeriel..

Stubby Stubby stubby. Everyone always says that. lol. Have to be honest I dont mind the standard aeriel. Although I feel peer pressure may get the better of me!!!!!! :scare:

  3. Something I have been wanting to do since buying the Z. Really loved this Esprit rear Diffuser since seeing it.

Just got it back from the body shop and really happy with it. Got some great advice from Keyser on fitting it (what a great guy). :notworthy: So here is the end result, personally I think it looks fantastic, been blended in so it looks like one piece. Towing hole put on and parking sensors too. . . :teeth:

  4. what are those alfa 3.0 V6s like? is it a brera?

Great cars, they honestly are, so long as maintained and looked after. They feel faster than the Z, (but they are not) however the handling is so-so. That is a GTV, the brera's are very nice too.

That GTV V6 is stunning, another car I lusted after but never managed to own

Get one some day. I hope to get an 8C one day!!

  5. ^^ Remember seeing that lovely well kept Alfa when you joined monkeybrain. B)

Sort the exhaust out on your Zed if you haven't and you'll get a sweet sounding V6 noise again. :yahoo:

Yes it was well kept and cheished . . . I have not found a Z with the same kind of noise as the Alfa, after my wedding I may invest into more noise, but realistically I think I would have to get a V8 to better the Alfa Sound . . . (Hope to be proven wrong)

  6. I had the 3.0 V6 GTV for a very enjoyable 4 years.

Yes things went wrong, but mostly wear and tear. Main thing with Alfa's to look out for-

    Cambelt change £400 - £800

    Spark plugs changed £150

    Oil service done regularly

    Subframe rust

    Oil cooler pipes corroding £500

    Cracks in exhaust manifold

Flat spots on acceleration - MAF

They are great cars so long as maintained well. Yes there will be some rubbish ones out there but that is like any brand. Great car and I miss my GTV V6 noise, it was epic.

  7. Oh No. Keep Wales, it is great fun.

Although totally agree, people could be getting bored if they have done it alot.

Besides nothing stopping mini events or individuals to go up and have a blast in Wales, thats what I do with a few other friends once or twice a year.

Either way good luck, you will struggle to please everyone which ever way you go. . . . :teeth:

  9. i actually run shell helix ultra 5w40(get it free) i'd like to see a dyno run with differant oils can't believe it makes that much differance to power and i change the oil and filter twice a year which is really anal as i only do 1000 miles a year

You change your oil every 500 miles! Fairplay that is OCD at its best. :teeth: Just joking.

  10. Fuchs titan race 5w30

Thanks for reply, so is the Mobil 1 not recommend by you guys?

Looks like Fuchs titan race 5w30 it is then.

Topics like this just run and run, but it's all good as it's what forums are for :) Below is a cut 'n paste from another forum... And yes, Mobil 1 is currently 20% off at Halfords but still works out cheaper if you use their trade card instead.

    Hi Ian

To be honest, while it's under warranty, there isn't really anything better than the Mobil 1 0w-40.

    http://www.opieoils....e-porsche-a4...

When it's out of warranty, one of the ester based 5w-40 synthetics will be a better option, but for now the Mobil is as good as anything (although the Fuchs GT1 is just as good an oil and cheaper at the moment).

    Regards

    Tim

    OPIE OILS

From all the evidence on here and elsewhere, Opie are a real authority on oils. If they recommend Mobil 1, then I think it's fair to say there's nothing much wrong with it. I'd also assume Porsche know enough about their own cars not to recommend an oil that will damage the engines. They'd have to be really dumber than dumb to do that.

Had a feeling this would be one of those subjects like "Which Tyres to buy?" :p

Probably go with the Fuchs, for probably nothing more than psychological sanity as no one seems to have anything bad to say on it! :scare::wacko:

    So far anyway! :stir:
