Congrates, looks like a good one. Had mine for nearly 3 months and I still love it. Beware - Zeditis sets in quicker than I thought it would!

That 4D vinyl you have there looks the same as my CF vinyl I have, which is also from Hexis.

Is the finish smooth or can you feel the texture?

Only reason I ask is that I have seen some 4D CF vinyl recently at a trade stand in Brighton during InCarNation, and that visually looked like textured, but had a smooth finish

This has a textured feel for sure. I was expecting the 4D to be more glossy and flat like you probably saw at the show. I contacted the company I bought it from and they assured me it was 4D and the latest stuff from Hexis.

It's almost a textured matt finish, from what I read 4D is glossy. But I'm happy with how it looks. Be interesting to see others like 3M.

Question is should I do the roof?

I wouldn't if I was you. Don't see many red Zed's tbh so why hide that beautiful colour.

 

Plus from a previous thread it can be a massive ball ache if you want to remove it afterwards from what I've read.

I think you're right my friend. I also saw the recent removing thread on here too, looks like a nightmare, although I am sure they are not all bad.

Will keep it Red for the moment and find something else to tinker with!

Flipping hell. These are gorgeous!

Use Imgur. it's far faster and cleaner that photobucket and if you don't care about keeping track of the picture you dont even need to sign in etc. you can drag/drop or even just ctrl+v it in the browser window.

Done this finally. Was really quite simple. Used Hexis 4D carbon wrap, although the final result was good, I did think the new 4D wrap would have more depth/gloss to the wrap. Possibly the 3M has more of gloss look. But now it is on the car I have to be honest it looks good.

Taking the covers off I found okay to do, I used a credit card to loosen the panel a bit, after it was warmed up by the sun, then just held it from the bottom and the the whole panel just popped off easily.

Cleaned it up and then set about wrapping it. Used the hair dryer to fold the edges and do the corners, but really was nothing difficult to doing this. Very easy.

Think it looks good. Question now is, should I do the roof too??!?!?

Very nice.

You cannot put the private plate on until the documents come through (usually around 2weeks). You drive as normal on your original plates. Once your new private reg documents come through, you have about 2 weeks to put the new plates on. So basically for 2 weeks you could have either your old or new plates on.

Hope that helps. If not sure ring dvla, they are very helpful.

I have just bought he is carbon wrap off eBay. Going to give my b pillars ago first. Then will decide whether to go for the roof or not. Will let you know how the he is wrap is. Heard its very good, just like 3M.

I have the scorpion on mine, and its an okay sound, but in my opinion not loud enough. I like my car to sound like a 3.5 V6. Which the scorpion doesn't do justice to IMO. At idle it sounds like a ford focus!

Under acceleration a lot better. As you said YouTube doesn't give a good idea how these sound, I have decided to go to some meets before changing.

I have been researching this over the weekend too. Are you thinking of trying it yourself?

From what I have seen its not too bad to do so long as you take your time.

Hi, I haven't (yet) made any with a red 'Z', but I have with orange, blue and yellow. Yours would be the same but with a, erm, red 'Z'!

 

There are a number of pics throughout this thread of my dividers with the coloured Z, but I'd happily send you a pic of your red zed version before asking for any payment if you'd like one. I think it would look great in a red car
