Thinking of getting the DBA T2s & Hawk pad set up for the front, how have you two guys found them for overall performance, noise and brake dust??

 

Was looking at some reviews online (American market) and quite a few people were complaining about noise and heavy brake dust

You won't get any noise from the T2 and Hawk HPS setup if installed correctly, they are designed as a fast road pad and will also create less dust than the DS2500's.

That's now our most popular setup and I've had no complaints

I've been doing a bit more research and it looks like I'll definitely go for that clutch kit from Clark Motorsport.

However I've decided to do some other bits while I'm there, mainly the gearbox oil, slave cylinder, braided line swap and fluid. Can anyone point me towards where to get the latter? (I will also look myself, but in the mean time, one of you helpful bods might come through first) and the oil I can get from anywhere.

Up for sale is my own Skyline 350GT auto. I bought it from a customer with the intention of using it but I have far to many other projects on the go and end up driving the van everywhere!

Its had 3 former keepers and the previous owner to me has covered less than 3000 miles in it the last 2 years as it was only used on a sunny weekend.

It was imported in May 2005 at 64,511 kms. The odometer is now showing 103,788 (will rise slightly) so the correct mileage is 79,362 miles.

The last owner to my customer bought the car in January 2011 from MVM in Fife and the receipt shows he paid £9995.

There is the last 4 MOT certificates present as well as the current one which runs to January next year, there are some service receipts from 2013/2014 also.

My customer bought the car in August 2014, he had us carry out a full service shortly after. We also fitted a full set of low mileage (30K) Brembos from a 350Z as well as DBA T2 discs and Hawk PC pads all round at a cost of £1200. We also supplied a CAT back Invidia Gemini system and HKS drop in filter.

The car has recently had a full black leather Infiniti interior fitted before passing the car onto me. He had the grill painted black and the roof and mirrors wrapped black. We have just fitted new Tein lowering springs, Eibach front spacers and 370Z 19" Rays wheels with almost new Michelin PSP's.There is some curb rash on a couple of the wheels but overall they still look very smart.

The car drives without fault and is a lovely thing to drive, it looks great on the 370Z wheels. It was serviced again in November last year and I will give it a fresh oil and filter change for the new owner.

The bodywork is in very good condition there is only a couple of very small car park dints one on either side. There is a small scuff on the front bumper and a mark on the front. I can send pictures of these.

Overall its a very nice looking and driving car that pulls very well and sounds great.

Price is £5350, I can remove the 19" Rays and supply wit ha set of 350Z wheels for a reduced price.

I have now polished the headlamps which have come up really well, I will post an updated picture later.

It is normally necessary to replace the dual mass flywheel at the same time due to wear and due to the fact you already have the gearbox out makes more sense.

The lower control arm is the one the shock bolts to, the inner bushes are common for wear. The other bushing is for the compression or banana are as its more commonly known.

We have good used Brembos in stock and can supply with new DBA T2 or T3 discs and various pad options if required.

The standard concentric slave cylinder (CSC) is a common failure on the 350Z HR and 370Z it would be worth making sure its working correctly.

Is the car still running the standard clutch setup?

Do you require one for a Rev up or normal DE model?

If your revs are rising but the engine is not able to transmit the power then that is clutch slip.

If you turn on the air conditioning button does one of the fans turn on? If not:

 

Cooling fan motors failure are a common issue. There is a thread on here about refurbishing them or you can talk to one of the traders on getting a second hand one.

 

Alternatively, Mishimoto do a full shroud with 2 fans which is cheaper than OEM but you will need to do a little wiring work to fit them.

The latest Mishimoto fan shrouds now come with the correct plus for plug and play fitment We have them in stock if required.
